My dear! Yes, that must have felt quite uncomfortable! Why didn't they have a proper sign language interpreter? Not only that everyone is speaking at the same time and no one is interpreting everything for Marleen, but the so called interpreter is also articulating poorely in English and she isn't translating accurately! Thanks to God that Marleen handled it amazingly and the audience was on her side!

poi ho lavorato a FANTASTICO '87 con Pippo Baudo.Marlee Matlin era stata invitata a Roma per premio CIAK, ci siamo incontrati e tutti e due ospiti del programma PRONTO CHI GIOCA con Enrica Bonaccorti. Il suo interprete professionista per lingua dei segni americana e lingua inglese e italiana è stato "soppiantato" dalla donna dai capelli neri.

non capisca tutto quello che Marlee dice, e infatti non lo traduce correttamente, soprattutto quando parla del fatto che è felice di essere li per i sordomuti italiani...ad ogni modo, meglio di niente;poi 1 dei conduttori vuole mettere in imbarazzo l'altro con domande del tipo "Cosa ne pensano di lui in America?"..si capisce che scherza, ma la signora si ostina a tradurre e Marlee sta al gioco rispondendo che pensa che Fazio sia sexy!fantastica...Spero tanto che la inviti adesso..sarebbe forte..

Grazie1000per aver postato questo video!!Sapevo che Maree era stata in Italia a volte, ma mai potevo pensare a qualcosa del genere..C'è 1po' di confusione..sembra che non sapessero che sarebbe venuta in trasmissione...lei è molto dolce come sempre, si vede che comprende il problema di comunicazione: italiano, inglese, ASL, LIS.. e la signora bionda è l'unica che parla 1 pochino di inglese..per di più, quando Marlee usa la propria voce si vede come la signora bionda

plus,when Marlee uses her voice u can see the blond lady doesn't understand the whole thing,in fact she doesn't translate it properly, above all when she talks about how happy she's to b here 4 Italian deaf people..but still better than nothing; also, one of the hosts wants to embarrass the other asking questions like: "what do u think about him in America?"he's definitely joking but the lady tries to translate anyway & Marlee's awesome as she plays along saying "he's sexy!" what a girl..

OMG!this is awesome..thank you soo much for posting this!!I got to know Marlee only recently, and I knew she has been to Italy sometimes but last I could think was something like that..It was a bit messy I have to say...it seems like they didn't know she was coming or something...she's very sweet as always even if she understands the problem with communication..Italian, English, ASL, LIS...and the blond lady is the only one who speaks some English..

Ok, so was her interpreter translating Italian into ASL?  That's really... random. Because sign language isn't the same in every country...

Which, i have always felt like the two languages that could potentially transcend nationality lines are sign language and braille.

They're totally different in every country. While it's said to be "easier" to learn foreign sign languages, they're still very different. Even British Sign Language is completely different than ASL!

OMG this is toooo funny. I have no idea what is going on and I doubt Marlee had much more of an idea than I have. There's Italian, and then that being translated into English, being interpreted into ASL, and then there was the mime... wow.
