  • I love cornbread!

  • I love this song! it is my dads and i's favorite!

  • He's always so stoned I love it

  • Not a big fan of Cornbread, but you can't not enjoy it!

  • Dave and Tim going crazy once again. Awesome

  • I think this song gets a little dirtier every time it's played.

  • Let me know when you sell me kornbread

  • Rashawn and Jeff, together, is one FUNKY horn duet. Those licks are orgasmic.

  • 4:56

thats right do the lavn mower

  • 10 people never tried his cornbread

  • Beckham playing bass

  • This is absolutely the dirtiest, naughtiest, Dmb song around, and I love it! When else do we get to hear Dave talk about having screwing moms or getting head? :)

  • I LOVE the minimal stage setup!

  • DMB 4 LYFE

  • Stefan Lassard doesn't get enugh attention.

  • so sad leory is gone

long live the groo grux king

  • @moriahschroeder whos leory? is that even a name?

  • @Potatomanbrad you dont know who leroi is?! Where you been?!

  • @chekkitProductions trust me i know who leroi is lol and #36 always makes me think of him so much but i was making fun of their crappy spelling and it was taken as an insult by me

  • @Potatomanbrad ok. after i posted that i thought that you could have been commenting on the misspelling. hah

  • I like the live version with Tim Reynolds better, it has a more earthy richness to it, more southern sounding.

  • @tdriftking88 tim is in this

  • i was there

  • TIm rehnolds is a beast!!! This is the best solo of this song I have heard him do.

  • This song makes me hungry...

  • Am I the only one hearing a Louisiana Bayou interpolation during that ending jam?

  • I hear it through the whole thing.

  • Cornbread was released on the European Edition of "Big". There's a great groove to this song. Love it!

  • is this on any of the studio albums?

  • I hear it was on the UK version, but other than that, the answer is no...i almost dont want there to be one, it'll be streamlined and wouldnt be anything like THIS

  • It's on the UK limited edition - fucking brilliant version - SO tight. And as ever, Carter just grooves like a MF. Hard to find though :/

  • @dunkinking no studio albums but its on his Live At Radio City album. i like that version better lol

    acoustic with tim reynolds

  • officially it is! on the european editions of big whiskey & the googrux king it's on the bonus cd/bonus tracks part. i've heard it (the studio version) and boy is it awful! don't waste your time! it has ZERO energy in studio!

  • @dunkinking i dont think so, there's really only live versions....but the live versions of the song are amazing!!!

  • BEST version of Cornbread EVER!

  • It doesn't get better than this! I love dMb! <3

  • Love this song - it's so naughty. But the dancing and the scatting are still my favorite things by Dave.

  • Great song And great Music,

but i can't say the same about the Dancing! lol.

  • lol they put something in my coffee...

  • is that tim reynolds playing the guitar with them?

  • yah!

  • Yes. Tim Reynolds is now an official member of the band. He was in basically every song of the new album and now tours with them. Adds a whole new incredible dynamic to the band :)

  • studio version really cool!

  • Where the hell did you hear a studio version of this?!

  • the UK special edition of Big Whiskey & The Groogrux King comes with studio Cornbread as a bonus track. it sounds great, but it's not the same as the live versions we've seen with Tim.

    =)

  • You lucky ducks!

  • @footbagal youtube: "Studio Cornbread dave matthews." that should pull it up

  • i love how he dances when timmy is shredding

  • i like the words he used when it was just him and tim renolds,. at the end he broke a string. is the a video of that version?

  • Eh..

  • steve urkle? pretty with hairy legs? hahahaha

  • i was there.. about 20 ft from the stage.. AMAZING.

  • shit, i wanted to give u + ..

    sorry..

  • The live version is 10 times better than the Big Whiskey's studio Version. Long live to the DMB

  • What studio version are you talking about?

  • Here in Argentina, Big Whiskey was edited with two bonus tracks. One of them is the studio version of Cornbread!

  • love that song!!!

  • Dern. I was just there. Had I known, I would've picked that one up instead...

  • it only comes in the european version as a bonus track

  • and the mix for that version is awful, its on youtube somewhere take a listen for youself...

  • carter is so sick on the drums. DMB is good fucking music. saw em at becan theatre not too long ago

  • fucking love it

  • too soon TrophyBlendShooter, too soon hahaha

  • carter is the man

  • "it sours inside my soul because of you, all this innocence that you inspire. You know you are as heaven intended you..." and then dirty debauchery ensues. lol Go Dave! Making the first time all about the "Flower" haha and yet so classy :) you are, as so put, as heaven intended you.

  • Pretty with hairy legs, Pretty with hairy legs....

  • MJ has nothing on Daves moves

  • @TrophyBlendShooter yah dude, but u cant even compare them. they do two types of toatally different music, i like mj and dave matthews

  • @TheLegobug He was talking about the dance moves you idiot! Lol

  • no they don't carter is freaking awesome it's unfair lol

  • Man, this whole band is full of brothers who got some mad skills. Tim Reynolds is, like, oh my God. His guitar solos drive me insane. I love Dave's dancing. Carter is one of the best drummers alive. This band is probably the best touring band in the world. Each member of the band is incredible at what they do. . . and when you put it all together, you're going to have one hell of a show. I've seen DMB live in concert 56 times and I have never left disappointed. I've been a fan since 1994. :)

  • Here here

  • i im in love with this song. reminds me of their old, classic stuff.

  • i don't think people actually understand how good carter beauford is

  • no this song doesn't even do him justice though. he has some incredible drum songs. i can handle playing songs like this on drums but on some songs i just have do idea what to even play. like trippin billies or Funny the way. he's really underrated. some with stefan

  • the thing about songs like trippin billies is he doesnt even play it the same way twice, so theres no point it trying to learn it note for note. he has an extreme amount of fusion influence in his playin. i suggest to learn those songs by figurin out where the kicks are (ex. the first first 2 hits of TB are on the and of 3 and 4) and then learn to play free around them. then go back and see if u can figure out some of the particular things he does. ud be amazed at what that will do for ur drumin

  • i hate people who give advice on here, otherwise, you seem ok

  • thank you for your approval.

  • amen my brother

  • mr. carter beauford on the drummmmmmms

  • @joelmacky no he is seriously a freak, no drummer better.

  • @joelmacky , I do...thats for sure

  • @joelmacky HELL YEAH!

  • @joelmacky He's the greatest drummer in the world.

  • @joelmacky or how he was

  • @joelmacky

    The best!!!!

  • This song is about Dave getting encountered behind a shed!!! LOL

  • How 'bout I eat YOUR cornbread????

    LOL!

  • The whole band has agreed and where he will play and written out parts for him. They know what they're doing.

  • so i heard......ommmba goomba......somebody musta put somethin in my coffeee....gobble gobble steve irkle.....june bug.....pretty with hair legs...pretty with hairy legs.

  • haha when the video was loading i was reading the comments like wtf is this dude talking about...... i get it now. lol

  • haha...gotta love dave tho!!!

  • i dont meen to be mean but he sounds like hes retarded at the end... lol daves so funny, rock on DMB...

  • it is definitely not the "tradiotional" DMB for the die hard fans of the first day. but i think its important for a band to musically reinvent themselves every once in a while - and also including new personylities (and not only instruments) into their live line up.

  • hes cooler than you

  • Tim Reynolds is the man!

  • I agree.....D&T is perfect but DMB&tim is terible

  • you are wrong. simply put. dmb needs tim now more than ever.

  • You're all insane. Time Reynolds brings Dave to a new level.

  • shut up

  • tims solo backed by sax and trumpet is just the shit! wow... cant wait for seeing them again

  • right...

  • I want the lyrics to this version!

  • why?

  • Gotta love Depizzo. Its just a matter of opinion. I just like Jeff's tone and have hung with him and he's a great guy. I've spent lots of time with Bela Fleck, the Wooten bros and Jeff and really like what happens when they work together.

Can't take anything away from the pure excellence of Jerry Depizzo, in any case.

    Thanks

  • Well Said

  • It's so cool seeing Jeff Coffin playing sax with DMB. He's probably one the most expressive and fluent sax players in the world and he plays some incredible stuff when he tours Bela and the Flecktones. He's a great addition to the live DMB lineup.

  • Jerry Depizzo from O.A.R. is better than Jeff Coffin at sax...

  • although i like Coffin, i dont think he is as powerful and has as much volume as LeRoi did, but thats just from listening to him on cd and youtube, ill have to see at Alpine and 10k

  • dude i was at alpine last year, going again in june, and coffin played last time and his energy was incredible. god rest leroi but coffin is an impressive addition to dmbs lineup

  • oh i was there last year too, and i wont deny his excellence on the sax, he's a great addition, but just after listening to the shows this year, MSG and C-Ville, the sax is so hard to hear, i wish it would just pop up out of no where like Roi had

  • god, i was @ this show, it was sick as fuck... im proud to say that i went.

  • you have to think, this was recorded just after leroi died and this was the part of lerois solo

  • I LOVE this song, and think DMB is one of (if not THE) best live acts around

  • I agree, I think they actually sound better live then they do in the studio cause you can tell they're all having so much fun playing on stage

  • Dude, I remember being at this Jam-boree where everybody would have an insturment and we'd all each choose a song to play for everybody to play along to. I busted out Cornbread on em and it sounded f#$@ing sweet. There was a piano, banjo, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, violin. I'll never forget that moment in the middle and it sounded so beautiful. I wish I had it on tape but I don't. Just thought I'd talk about this since this is video of 'Cornbread'.

  • What the hell is he rambling about in the beginning. Haha. Good ole Dave

  • right? where r the subtitles when u need em?

  • lol, thats the funnies comment iv ever seen on a DMB vid... it prob. be: wa..ava..coffy...ugh, yeh... lol idk but you get the point... i 2nd lildrizzle, good ol dave :)

  • He had something to say about his coffee, and "pretty with hairy legs" embedded in the Davespeak, but other than that I think it was the usual magnificent mumbo jumbo.

They played Nashville last night, and they rocked this the fuck OUT! RIP Roi!

  • wow, right when tim starts his solo, goosebumps everytime

  • I think he really does want to be there. Every show I've been to he's played for at least 2 and a half hours, and he's the only musician that I've seen that's done so with such energy. He couldn't pack the vibrance that he does into a show unless he wanted to be there.

  • ACTED like he wanted to be there. you can see that dave carter boyd and stefan want to be there because of their presence. tim stands stationary and looks at the ground.

  • Yes, this is true. However, just because he looks at the ground doesn't mean he is uninterested. Mitch Hedberg was a great comedian, but he had terrible stage fright, so he'd wear glasses and stare at the ground. Tim does some really complex solos and improvs, so him looking at the ground may be him thinking of how he's gonna jam out this time. And aside from all of that, he could just have an introverted personality. :)

  • Yeah, whenever I get really into the guitar after playing for an hour or two straight, I just phaze out and stare at the ground a lot

  • i understand that, but he stands there like he's bored, he doesn't seem to be zoning out like hes lost in the music. he appears to be standing there with his soul tied down.

  • It could also just be a part of the bands personality, daves got enthusiasm, carter smiles and rocks and tim reynolds is cool focus shredding apart all those who dare to listen

  • I wish I had Dave's dance moves.

  • i said the same thing like 2 minutes ago to my friend.

  • love his dancin during tims solo

  • 4:06 when tim bust into his solo, wow just wow

  • pretty with hairy legs, pretty with hairy legs .. lmao

  • All the Hippie girls going to his shows.

  • anyone know where the lyrics for this version are online? It sounds a bit different.

  • I think those lyrics are right, I think he just improvs on this version.

Wish he'd stick with these lyrics though, they flow so well during the chorus compared to other versions of this song I've heard.

  • *pre chorus, not chorus

  • Comment removed

  • DOPE!

  • this song pretty much kills it

    DMB > anybody else

  • this song makes me excited for the new album - hopefully carter learned his lesson that he is not a drum machine for a rap group and that brings the funk - hopefully this carries onto the album, unlike stand up.

    Anyways, good stuff.

  • You ain't ever had MY cornbread! Little bit o heaven and a little bit of AW YEAH!

  • Ohh man best show of the weekend and best song of the show right here, timmy just destroys the place for a full two minutes while dave plays the audience like a puppet

  • I've seen DMB 15 times, and every concert was unique! Def my fav band!

  • totally agree no two are the same ive seen him 9 times and each one had its own special moment to it

  • nice dancing (at about 4:40).

  • i wanna see them so bad.

  • ROTHBURY WAS AWESOME!! Let's hope the show this year is a success.

  • I live a literally walking distance from Rothbury Festival

  • From 400on...this is so wacked out its near perfect in its insanity Tim high frettin it,,,Dave doing the slam-jig and bringing at all in at the end Fukna can it get any more unique???

  • does anyone know what he says at the begining??

  • uh something like... something in my coffee... pretty with hairy legs?? haha

  • best weekend of my life hands down

  • what a freaking awesome weekendddddd

  • della madoonnnaaaaaa!!!!

  • This song is HOT!! Awesome to see the progression of Cornbread tour to tour. Obviously Timmy adds a lot!!!

    Vegas 09'

  • his dancing has got to be the best around

  • im not a weirdo, but did you notice how when they started playing, the sun was sort of out, but then when it was close to the end, the sun was not there anymore. im not a freak, i just think that it is pretty cool. it just happens without you noticing it

  • its just a big light, not the sun

  • You're a wierdo dude. Ever hear of a sunset?

  • "pretty with hair legs" lmao, i love wen dave talks at the beginning

  • The 06 and 07 tour was amazing, this year was a bit of a bummer...LeRoi!!

  • Amazing song, love the band, but this isn't the best mix. A lot of the magic just gets cluttered in this video.

  • Agreed, either show Dave dancing or Tim shredding...Pick one!

  • This was a cool show I was there and my friends from hollywood were there and we ate pizza and children.

  • Mmmmm, pizza and children... my favorite.

  • delicious

  • i was at this concert and i sadly passed out before the disco biscuits played on thursday night, but hollly shit dave was amazing... too bad the DOUBLE J ranch went bankrupt so no more rothbury anymore... dave is literally the most talented musician ive ever heard, hopefully leroi is up in heaven givin DMB inspiration to keep up with the good music :)

  • TIMMY
