  • Sorry...meant Colin WESTON

  • 1:08 UNCLE COLIN!!!!!!! That's Colin Western, He was a legend on Christmas Day...they'd let him get steadily more drunk throughout the day so by the end he was tipsy and laughing his head off.

  • nice bit of testcard at 1:35.

  • WOW!! I can't remember this TV series. The theme song says it all, so I probably didn't bother to watch after I'd heard it :)

  • yes they dont make em like that anymore

  • The typically no-frills Granada closedown is from Saturday 17th October 1981, into the early hours of Sunday 18th.

  • I never realised Granada had shown 'Bluey' the Australian police series. Years later down under, the Late Show on revoiced it as 'Bargearse' for laughs.

  • Gawd - The Lost Islands.... used to be on a Sunday dinner didn't it?

  • where did you find The Lost Islands - have a vague memory of watching it years ago - would love to see more!

  • It was shown by the granada ITV region in the early 80's

  • And the rest of the ITV network!

  • Your tired announcer at Granada is Jim Pope...well, he would be tired with the time at 26 minutes to 2am!

Thanks for the bonus Granada closedown clip - much appreciated.

  • But what about the announcers in the other ITV regions? Wouldn't they have been just as tired?

  • Your tired announcer is Jim Pope. Well, it was 26 minutes to 2am!

Thanks for the bonus Granada closedown clip - much appreciated.

  • The Lost Islands..I used to watch that..its so nice to see a little of it again..Thank you so much.
