Actually Adam Is derived from the Babylonian word Adamah which just means Earth. Adam is associated with the word Edom which means red. But dark black dirt is the most firtle soil to grow crops and food. Even cow poop which is dark is used to aid red dirt as things die quickly. And anicent Hebrew spelling of Adam translates into Adamah in english. Adamah only meant earth no specification of color is present in the original.
