  • I might be flying in Japan while on layover. Is there a good source for online manuals besides J-AOPA? (I'll be acting as safety observer with a licensed Japanese friend who is new to flying inside the country)

  • @andyshangar

    Not that I have seen..

Japan aviation is not very English-friendly

  • Lol, you looked so excited in this video, bouncing like a schoolgirl. You must really enjoy flying :)

  • Im 13 and do my flight training in durham england. I live here in Japan and would love to try that, do they accept english student pilot certificates?

  • @averredude101

No, sorry, not if you are 13.

    17 is the Japanese law.

And then you must pass Japanese aviation law test before touching anything.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom damn, back to the UK :D

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Say someone lives in tokyo. If they want to go somewhere else far from tokyo do they use a plane. Like say tokyo to osaka if that's far idk.

  • My two dreams in one video : flying and Japan. Thank you!

  • Flying in Japan. Very cool.

  • I simply MUST fly when I come to Nippon. Maybe I could arrange to ferry a plane there, my buddy does that sort of thing but I only have about 600 hours...maybe not...lol. I have to crop dust a few years to build hours for insurance purposes first...that is if I don't wad one up in the process.

  • You were probably excited after finding that old video :D

  • Did you pretend your were flying to Pearl harbor? >:D

  • This was amazing. The music fit perfectly to the feeling flying in the peacefulness of the skies. I mean this was just incredible, I could realy get to the feeling. I hope I get to fly someday an airplane over Japan. Thank you very much for this film, it was your best!

  • On my YouTube home page as a new unwatched video. I thought maybe you filmed a recent flight & was interested in watching it. Part way through I noticed the number of views & then the date. Watched this already & enjoyed it. Did you re-post or is YouTube screwing more things up besides the new home page? Any way, thanks again for the insight to Japan & all things Japanese. Always enjoy these & your other channel's videos.

  • great video, and i really love the music!

  • Widershins: I love the music good video thank you again.

  • How feasible would it be to fly to Japan from California in a cessna 152?

  • @Hatterific Cessna 152's apparently have about a 500 mile range with no extra fuel tanks. It's 2000 miles to Hawaii from California. Maybe if you went up around Alaska to the Aleutian islands, then skipped over to Hokkaido that way?

  • beautiful!!!!!!!, thank you!

  • It feels like I'm playing Sim City when watching this video. :D

  • Is a US pilot's certificate with a current US Class 3 medical good enough to fly in Japan? What's the rental rate like for a C172?

  • @dboy4ever

You would be allowed to fly a US registered a/c.

To fly a Japanese a/c you need a Japanese license.

A video about that process is coming.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Thnak you Sir. Blue skies!

  • you should another flying video in HD.

  • I wonder if japanese regional airlines treat their pilots as shitty as US ones...?

  • I feel like playing Sim City now...

  • Ohhhhh! Man thats nice.. I love the water and the over feel of it man.. I wanna live there.. Kirei!!

  • I have a question. In anime movie Skycrawlers, the fighter pilots switched to english when they were flying. Even when just talking to other in squadorn. At first I thought I had my language setting wrong. Then I was curious and wondered why they did that. Do japanese pilots communicate in english when talking over the radio and to the tower?

I can understand international flight pilots needing to know english, but just wondering if it was a standard.

  • @TheKenrid

Yes, international language for pilots is English.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Is it possible to be a CFI in japan with US/FAA CFI-I/MEI ratings?

  • @guitarczar15

Possible that it is LEGALLY possible.

I can't imagine a Japanese company letting it happen, though.

Like most companies here.. they want Japanese senior staff.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom But CFI-ing is an entry level pilot job... what are you suppose to start off doing? lol

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom

are u sure? `cause one of my friends its a pilot and he need a lot of french when he pilot his plane from europe to america

he is from morocco, under spain.

  • could u please do some country side i love it there

  • @Dotov

    Done lots of them.

  • Loved the video, used to fly Cessnas 152 long time ago, I used to skydive too, what about skydiving in Japan ? ever thought trying it ?

I would love to know if is it available in Nagoya or Tokio suroundings ? I seldon go to Japan on business, just a quick thing, 1 or 2 weeks.. might try some skydiving next time.

  • @SKYFORFUN

Never seen skydiving here.. but I am sure it is somewhere in Japan.

  • Awesome dude, such a relaxing video!

  • amazing!first time to see my place thru birds eye..thanks a lot!

  • Where my grandmother was born and lived the first 30 years of her life ^.^ though it was prior to WWII so I imagine the city was rather different

  • $150 per 15 minutes makes $600 an hour. I wouldn't mind that sort of salary....

  • @xmanganimex haha, that's for sure. If only the pilot got to keep it all ><

  • I dream about flying and living in japan almost every day... Or every second im not thinking about cars lol.

  • Does Japan have a very large general aviation sector? I live in the US and we have tons of small airports with Cessnas like these everywhere.

  • I did not know you were a fellow pilot. Maybe one day we can fly a my DA20C1 together?

  • Awesome. Amazing. Hope you had a great flight. Much love for Japan.

  • Wow, that was excellent! The music was perfect, too.

Nagoya is much different from the air than on the ground.

$150 is quite reasonable - I'm guessing the flight is about 1 hour?

  • @320k

    Glad you enjoyed it.

$150 will get you about 15 minutes.

  • now that's what I call living the life!

  • Did something in particular inspire you to put music like this behind a video of a peaceful flight? I felt like I was watching a classic movie :)

  • @Coppercross

Just thought my friend's music would make a better atmosphere than the drone of the 172HP ^_^

  • i really enjoy ever video thanks for the first hand look

  • This video is fantastic!!! I've been to Tokyo and Osaka, but never been to Nagoya, it seems like very nice place to visit. It is very unusual to get to see the city this way.

    Wonderful view!!!

  • @tmichiko

    Glad you liked it ^_^

  • isn't the song playing by your friend ManJack from Chop Suey Joint ?

can't wait until I get to take this tour in person! great video as always!

    Peace!

  • @kua514

    Sure is!

    Link in the description!

  • Awesome, your videos just always make me want to go to Japan even more. Lol, thank you, my friend. :)

  • @ForeverNarutoUzumaki

    Thanks for watching!

  • Ohhhhhh nostalgic.....Nagoya port the place i used to live....interesting video!! Congratulations!

  • @andycappuccino

    Thank you.

My last big budget video though..

    6,500 views is not enough..

turns out most youtubers prefer just to look at bimbos with big tits :-D

  • This is really good though, you should have just changed the title to "BIMBOS AND TITS" and they would've come to see that but kept watching 'cuz its really cool.

  • @FoldingSunrise

    Thanks dude.

  • Wow! You look so excited and happy!

But what's the price for a ride?

I always wanted to fly on a helicopter or on a small plane!!!

  • @geezaweebrek

    About $150 per person.

  • That was just awesome! thanx for upping such great vids!

  • @raulycalifre

    Thanks for watching!

  • so cool ty for the vid

  • I love your videos man!! I am married to a Japanese and we live in Vancouver, Canada...... Japan is awesome!!!!! My favourite place on the planet!!!! I am totally Japified..... as you can tell!!! Please keep up the awesome videos!!!! Thanks you!!!!! Kyotsukete kudasai!!!!

  • @PapaKumaMusic

    Thanks ^_^

  • A Brit in Japan is just weird, I don't know why, it's just weird to see. My mother was from Nagoya, it's cool to see anything about or from Nagoya.

  • @danalia

Was there a Brit in this video?

    I didn't see one...

  • makes me miss living in Japan...

  • why would u even leave japan ...??

  • I did my part in the JET teaching program and went back to the US since i couldn't find a job that i liked in tokyo, but yes if i had a good job over there or win the million dollar lotto i would love to go back to tokyo.

  • I remember going on a small plane like this before! I loved it. The view is so amazing!

You look liked you had so much fun! LOL, your so cute hopping up and down like a lil excited school boy! ♥

  • Is it me or the pilot has a different accent from the one I'm used to listen to...?

  • @doctorsolo

    The PIC is Japanese.

  • @teemuruskeepaa

So do you hate yourself for leaving that inane comment in English????????

  • @teemuruskeepaa

And all the descriptions on your videos are in English too...

But you can leave your comments here in Japanese if you prefer.

And in case you didnt notice, the most important information on this video was delivered in Japanese.

  • @teemuruskeepaa

So you can do it about Finland in English but because I do it about Japan in English it makes my videos irrelevant?

    Your reasoning makes no sense.

    So dont watch my videos.

Go and watch videos made by Japanese people in Japanese about Japan.

    Problem solved.

(My videos have had 1.75 million views and 6,500 subscribers and you are the only person ever to complain about English.)

    Bye bye.

  • @teemuruskeepaa Mmm... Well, maybe I would give you the reason if the title were "NipponChanneruDcom". But it's in English, this is a channel about Japan for foreigners, and I think the best way to show us Japan stuff (in a way we can understand) is from a foreigner guy.

  • i have 2 little sesna like this ,

    they are awsome

  • Great video - nice view of the city and all from a different perspective. Love the background music too. Thanks for sharing.

  • @urusaiko

    Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for making yet another great video, I loved the music in this and the view must have been breathtaking! I'm looking forward to more videos of Japan. :)

  • @TheSkinni

    Thanks!

    More coming!

  • What a great video. There's not a better way to view the world than from up high. Even if you never make another video like this one I wanted to say I very much appreciate the time and effort put into this one. I'm really glad I subscribed to your channel and look forward to future updates.

  • @bluegrl80

    Thank you!

    More coming!

  • Awesome video, however there is something better then flying airplanes....jumping out of them! Have you checked out the Tokyo skydiving club at Honda airport in Saitama prefecture? I am a skydiver who is moving to Japan in May and this is one of the first places I am going to check out. I hear they have breathtaking views of mount Fuji.

  • @joeafrolovesblow

    Lemmings?

Yeah, I used to drop lemmings out of aircraft in Australia.

Fun watching them plummet to earth, wondering if their chutes would open..

    But I prefer aerobatics :-D

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom Lemmings?:O never heard that one before lol is it like a crack at skydivers hehe

  • @joeafrolovesblow

Not a crack.. it is just what pilots I know call them :-D

It is what it looks like from the pilot seat :-D

  • Could you see Mount Fuji?

  • @4g92mit

    Not that day :-)

  • Awesome video ^^

  • @cinnamonYUME

    Thank you :-)

  • Nagoya! My city! I wish I could go back this summer. I'm stuck here in Canada, it's a friggin' icebox!

  • @butrint24

Yeah, they like boobies and skateboard nutshots :-)

    Thanks for your support!

  • That was freakin awesome!!! The music couldn't have been any better for this clip!

    Thanks for another great vid;-p

  • @dappel84

    Thanks, glad you liked it!

  • Thanks for posting this! I love flying (by which I mean, being flown).

  • Do you have a private pilot's license or what the equivalent is over there?

  • @eskercurve

I have a commercial pilot license in Australia.

  • Very cool :). I work for Boeing and I love planes. Gosh they're expensive though! What rating does the commercial pilot license get you in Australia? What kind of planes have you flown? :) Hope you don't mind me asking.

  • @eskercurve

I might do something about it on my other channel..

i try to keep this one about Japan and not about me..

I have retractable undercarrage, variable pitch prop and aerobatic endorsements.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom ^_^ ... very awesome. One of my old bosses for a small company I used to work for had an aerobatic endorsement as well. I got to see him fly in Oshkosh, simply amazing. Luckily my employer will partially pay for a pilot's license, so I may just get one.

If you are ever in the States, near Seattle, I will gladly invite you to see the Boeing tour and also see if I can get you to our assembly line or our simulators which have full-up cockpits.

  • @eskercurve

I have an aerobatic endorsement .. so I know what you mean :-D

  • you have an amazing life!

I wish I could go out there and do that stuff.

  • @LilaPumpa

    You can!

  • super cool views,awosone,put more of this,thanks

  • @TheLlcooljose

If I get 100,000 views on this one, I will make another one :-D

  • you have no idea how much i envy you...

thanks a lot for shearing this amazing moments with us, just wish i could experience it myself.

  • @psycho0550

I worked real hard for 20 years before I came to Japan.

Anyone can do what I have done :-)

  • 1. thats cool

    2. great wiew, not somthing you see that often

    3. 5:55 wow

  • This clip is what makes your channel so delightful! Thanks you so much!

(your other clips are pretty terrific too!)

  • @HeavySmokerJenni

    Thank you!

  • amazing video!

  • Great video and great music!! 5 stars ...thanx!

  • @zazdroska

    Thanks for the 5!

  • A thousand times, happy landing!

    5 stars for the landing.

  • Sugoi.. really awesome. *5 stars!* ^^

  • @Zakion92

    Thanks for the 5!

  • wow thats very neat it feels like we are part of your life with this videos good job i feel special lol

  • @narutostarfire

    great :-)

  • Adding in your friend's music was a nice touch. Its like the videos you've put out has gone full circle.

I know some japanese, but all i could understand was o'negaishimasu. He was kinda quiet, but that leads me to an interesting question. Is the general volume in Japan quieter? or maybe i should say : Is the average conversation in Japan the unlike the normal loud obnoxious American like myself?

  • @GKCanman

Yes, you could say that :-)

  • Love the video and music and it all fits into a peaceful viewing sensation.

I dont think the music is sad either, as some have taken it to be.

  • @waltermh111

    Thanks!

  • Totally awesome. Five stars.

  • @mekugi

Thanks for all your help with it man!

  • that was very interesting to see and relaxing!

    thank you

  • @Nayuki07

    Thank you!

  • Cheers for the vid TheJCDC, 5 stars of course.

If that flight was something you'd have spent money on regardless of making a youtube video, something you really enjoy doing, then you haven't lost out.

Don't make vids for us that you can't afford, or can't make your money back on. We certainly appreciate this vid but no one here wants you to smash your finances to do so.

  • @blank000blank

Thanks, but I love flying anyway :-)

  • This was a really beautiful video. I appreciate the time and expense you put into it. Thank you for informing us about Japan and all that is good and not so good about it. Probably the most informative subscription I have.

  • @lordcoyote2000

    Thanks for your support!

  • Nice flight, Too bad, the weather wasn't good, though.

  • Kickass looking city, music was sort of sad though lol, almost like flying over a place after war has hit, but keep on rocking in Japan man! your videos rock

  • @HillBillyDrew

    Thanks dude.

  • That was cool!

There's like literally 100 airports in Japan, so if your wealthy enough, it might be a interesting hobby.

  • @8191921

    Thanks for appreciating it.

  • Thanks for that great video. Do you ever got to Suzuka circuit to watch F1?

  • @BK0125

    Thanks for your support..

Havent been to the F1 yet.

  • Very beatuiful, thanks for spending your time and money on this one!

Hopefully some more people can stop clicking those obvious ad videos with boobs and click this one.

  • @mattearnie

    Thank you.

But I was just thinking I wont spend time and money on a video like this again.

600 views.. it just isn't worth it.

If there was more viewers like you or if Youtube promoted quality I would have a chance.. but youtube isn't interested in quality...

  • it actually makes me a lil upset that you are disapointed. You seem so excited in the video too- which i must add was beautiful- i dont knw why youd purposely just spend money for a youtube video- but theres still time yet for some more veiws

Your subcribers should be helping!!! gotta be sharing videos thats cool with friends. if we're wantin to battle the silly skits then we gotta, share & rate the quality videos!!

  • @ashhhhhhleigh

Look at the front page of youtube..

same old crap day after day..

I guess people who make quality videos just give up after a while...

  • stop saying that or i'll unsubscribe! : D

this is really well done. i know many people have waited many years to get more subscribers. many of them are only for entertaining and you basicly make fact-stuff => cannot compare their vids to yours. like you said in your other account: don't carry rocks in your bag. (well it was about something else but it's similar) these vids make me wise up. i actually skipped important stuff just to watch your vids (around 280 now?) took like ½ a week. 8)

  • @Julmuu

    Thanks

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom I can understand you might be a little disapointed, but you clearly enjoyed yourself making the video so it wasn't a total waste. I for one love your videos. You maybe don't have as many subscribers as Tokyocooney (to give an example) but I have learned more from the two weeks I have been watching you. I get to see the little things. We see mundane things like post offices in an interesting way.

When I eventually get to Japan, I promise I will buy you a beer.

  • @Punk7680

    Thanks for your support :-)

  • great video. just wish there were subtitles

  • @DingleHopperz

He was talking about how to become a pilot..

    only relevant to Japanese people

so you didnt miss anything :-)

  • Yea it is true, but you have captured an amount of people, may it not be millions, but theres still alot, who really appreicate your videos, i wouldnt want u goin to so much expense, but i lve ur videos, i lve your insight!!!

  • @ashhhhhhleigh

    Thank you!

  • Wow.. you have more balls than i do.. No headsets in a c172? i wouldn't last 15 minutes.

Thanks a million for making this vid, as an avid pilot myself, ive been aching to see what flying in japan would look like.

  • @ViperThreat

    Yeah.. no headsets..

    I was surprised too....

  • Your effort payed off. Great trip for all of us!

  • Fantastic!

  • Love it. This plane seemed like it was flying low

  • @grasseline

    1,500ft

  • For a person that has never flown, I really appreciated this video and found it to be absolutely superb.

  • 6:00 look at that freakin bridge

  • @bluflarp That is an awesome interchange. The civil or transportation engineer really out did their self.

  • great!

ever considered to buy/loan some high def. cams, and spend ½-1 year making some real documentary-programs about japan?

    sincerely, André Moore

  • @AmooreDk

Thanks for your support, but it is not worth it.

I spent a fortune making this one and it will only get a few hundred views.

Youtube is all about breasts and skateboard nutshots.

  • Well, I did not mean a documentary for youtube, but for TV. Make it, and sell it, or maybe you could get BBC or some documentary-channel/travel-channel to sponsor you? I would definitely watch it.

  • @AmooreDk

    Thanks for your support!

Maybe if I can show some potential by a little success on Youtube I might have a chance at that!!

    I shall keep trying!

  • this is so awesome what's the price

  • great!!!

  • Thank you for sharing that experience. I got your message and decided to put this as the feature on my channel so that it can get more views.

  • Thank you!

  • Haha, reminds me when I went up in a plane just like that but the tires had covers over it. If I'm correct, its a Cessna 172 (the one I was in) and I guess thats a SP.

    Nice job 5/5

  • Thanks for the 5!
