i just got this grip 2 days ago and its weird tape. it isnt like sand paper it is similar to a sheet of rubber.but if you already got ware on your shoes from another skateboard the sota grip with keep ripping them but it is good i would recommend it

i´ve got the griptape ,too. it´s so good you can do everything with it it´s simmilar to normal griptape but this won´t make your shoes damaged. i love it but finally my deck broken and now i´ve got a problem :(

One way u don't have to buy then again so its cheeper!

First get a toothbrush and toothpaste and scrub it on the bottom part ! Second buy new shoe strings! 3rd get a toothbrush and put NO TOOTHPASTE ON IT and scrub the whole shoe!

This actually works! I've been using this since November 20 something. The grip really doesn't change. I haven't had to go buy new shoes since I got this grip tape. If your even considering it, you should MOST DEFINITELY get it!

Wen u put the grip on use some of the excess grip to sand it down by sticking 2 corners of the excess grip together and cutting them off so u have a double sided griptape corner

It is a polymer (rubber) based grip that takes advantage of the fact that your shoes are also made of a soft rubber material. The high amount of friction allows you have enough grip to perform your tricks without tearing your shoes. We currently do not do any grip art, but this could change in the future. Thanks!

Will this Grip tape effect my skating in any way? I feel like that if you are saying that those shoes were barley ripped after 1 whole week of skating then the grip tape would be harder to skate with rather than normal grip tape.

@kr3wfrick Since the grip tape is rubber based and your shoes are also rubber, the friction is high enough to allow you perform any trick. It does grip in a "different" way since it is not abrasive and will take a little getting used to, but once you do performance should be similar to regular grip! Thanks!

@charlesxjung56 If you use normal sandpaper grip tape you cannot avoid ripping your shoes while doing flip tricks, unless you put an extra layer of protection on the threads or laces (example Shoe Goo). Sand paper grip tape works by being abrasive, which tears your soft shoes. The No-Rip grip is NON-abrasive and has proven to extend the life your shoes dramatically!
