Every Sunday after service, my church all join hands and sing this song. It's one of my favorite things about out church, because this song really describes my church and how we've been blessed by the Lord with such a loving congregation. (:
Left to right are Joe Moscheo, Jim Murray, Sherman Andrus, Terry Blackwood and Armond Morales. No doubt. Did their "Live" album in 1972 at the Tivoli Theater in Richmond, IN. Amazing.
These guys ministered to me as a child. My mother played them constantly. I think the Lord used it mightily in my life to teach me there was more to life than the "hell" I lived in as a kid. God is so good! He always makes a way!!
Jake Hess is the only guy to sing at Elvis's funeral and Hank Williams Sr....not JD or anyone else......Elvis tried to get Jake to sing secualr musica and sign with RCA...he said no....
I have heard this song performed by literally dozens of groups. This is one of the best. It is the best with respect to how well be bass (sung here by Armond Morales) blends in.
No competition. I believe the Imperials made this song. This is what you call 4 part harmonies. The Imperials reigned in this genre within the southern gospel, but the Kings Heralds hold the over all crown!
Just listen to these harmonies , vocals !! It makes me cry everytime I hear this version . Listen how cool these guys sound !!! Luv It ! - Timmy Davis , 10-22-09
This has been my favorite song since I was a child. For years I have searched to find this recording. Finally, you have given me such a joy. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
@PedroSG That bass is Armond Morales, who was with The Imperials from its inception in 1964 until his retirement I think in 2004. I'm a bass singer myself. Armond has always been one of my favorite role models in bass singing,
Gorgeous. What a gem.

This was the best grouping of the Imperials when Armond, Jim, Terry Blackwood and Roger Wiles were together.

The Imperials verson is sooooooooo much better than the Stamps....not even close. Chezcake1966 you are so wrong...
stanmull8 1 year ago
I believe you have the line-up wrong; this song was sung by the Stamps with JD Sumner as I know his voice anywhere.
chezcake1966 1 year ago
@chezcake1966 This is the Imperials. JD Sumner Never sang with them. The Stamps did do this song

This is the best Imperials that ever assembled. They blow away every other group. I used to travel miles and miles just to see them in concert.
