  • girls can rock

  • also things kind of thing ends up making it difficult for me in the end. I don't want to be in an all girl band and have to hang out with women musicians and be all "pro-women" to feel secure as a musician. If you classify yourself this way then that is what you are a "female musician" why does the gender label have to be set in any situation and just because others do it why should you all as drummers perpetuate it.. positive or negative..your still sending the message that ur different.

  • players who can.. READ, WRITE and PERFORM music at a high level.

Personally I don't ever in an interview setting/ live performance setting discuss me being a female because if I do I've already set myself apart.. if I don't want to be pin pointed then I go in like everyone else and play really god damned well and ignore the unfortunate comments/ behaviour. If you want to fit in then quite pointing out that your different and be the best damned musician in the house.

  • to be exceptional as a player and really know music. More than one or two sides of it. I also believe that alot of what you said in this video is true. I get stupid or weird comments all the time and these are high paid heavily advertised and sometime huge venue/ festivals. However I just think that focusing so much on the female aspect and not enough on the heavy music side of it won't help. You need to have a balance of music and professional players who really know the business

  • I don't want to be jerk here but a family friend send me the link for the magazine and as I am glad that you guys are out there doing something you believe in and trying to set an example but I think you could stand to have more diversity musically on this page. I do this for a living and can play just about every genre thrown at me. I have also just complete a degree in contemporary music with my major being drums and I teach privately. I think to be taken seriously as a musician you need..
