  • Hi, I have the same machine. I know what are the valuesof steps per xyz axes, to set the Mach3 and they are at their correct scale besides which turned out to be the best speed / acceleration for you. This machine used to bore the pcb

    Thanks.

  • Have you tried milling any metal, like Aluminium with it ?

  • @SSRacingUK > I haven't tried milling any metal yet.

I've only used the machine for acrylic and for cutting vinyl stickers.

It would do aluminum if you run several passes but this machine uses small bits (about 3mm) so you'll have to take it slow and maybe use some coolant.

You can always change the spindle for a Kress or something that takes larger bits.

  • Looking good, congratulations. I'm very happy with the little 3040. Cheers, Aaron.

  • @DCTTeacher1 > Thanks :-) It's a fun little machine.

The machine seems to be solid built, but I wish the Z-axis could go a bit higher.

I haven't tested how accurate it is yet, and I need to get some other bits for it.
