they made a puppet and did some motion capture, but to get absolute control of the puppet and be able to get the shots they wanted they used cg, it should be on the mill website somewhere

omg this ad is so impressive! thats some excellent puppeteering!! that pupet dances better than i do! so cool lol but i said to my boyfriend theres gotta be some CGI in there, and he's like no you can see the strings. but notice you can only see the strings in certain shots, like the close up where it would have to be obvious. i think it's about half and half in ratio of puppeteering and CGI, it has to be.

It's actually a mix of both CGI scenes and real puppeteers. Many of the first shots are real, however the farther you go on into the video simple frames are easy to pick out and are clearly CGI video animations.

But that slide at the end is all puppet kids...
