  • wat song is in the background from 1:04 to 1:27

  • what's the song at 2:04??

  • @ZZeppelinZoso double crossin time by john mayall and the bluesbreakers with eric clapton

  • Max, when is this doc coming out?????

  • I think that in this case even '58s and '60s are okay, LOL

  • Did anyone look in their attics after this? I did.

  • $400,000 richer? Please. I would be one 1959 Gibson Les Paul richer. If I found one I would NEVER sell it EVER

  • In the beginning.

  • what's the song?

  • How much did these 59 les pauls sold for new back in 1959?

  • $275, but that's equal to around $2,275. The value of the US dollar dropped a lot over the years, which is why Gibson's prices have so-called "increased."

  • Ahh the attic best place for it!

  • what song is at 2:05?

  • cool I reckon I'll go get me one!! oh wait I cant afford it

  • Dear Santa...

  • These guys are all crying the blues these days...They'd be lucky to get 200k for them now. It was a bubble created by dealers and a few rich baby boomers. The bubble burst and the boomers are dying.

  • @doublestrokeroll Cool story bro...

2 months ago the record was broken when a 1959 Les Paul was sold for $900,000 in the U.S.

  • @PBANDSNOW Cool STORY bro....

Where's your link? A google search of 59 Les Paul, record price, 900000 etc...pulls up absolutely NOTHING.

So yeah....I think you're the one with the story. Perhaps you are confusing richard gere's guitar collection which in TOTAL sold for just over 900K? Wasn't even a 59 in that collection.

So yeah...show me some proof and maybe I'll believe you.

  • 5 people don't have the 1959 Les Paul Sunburst..

  • Nice fail for thumbs, smart-ass. 245, and the other 157,715 people can't either.

  • @ErosaScuderia Good point... damn.

  • If you find one of these and sell it you are on of three things.1 a gready basterd.2 someone who dosent play guitar.or 3 a strat person

  • Is Keith Richards playing the '59 Burst on the recording of "The Last Time"? Is that a Burst on the record? Not live, mind you, but on the recording?

  • All hail! The holy grail!

  • Charles Daughtry seems like a really nice guy!

  • I've been living on my attic for days now.... Still haven't found a 1959 Gibson :(

  • @yoursatan hehehe same as m8, i plan to start ripping down the walls up there next as well

  • Mick Jones of the Clash played a 1958 Standard.

Gregor Hilden (german guitarist) played a 1959 Standard.

Larry Dimarzio has an awesome 59.

  • I never get tired of this vid :)

  • I was able to afford one of these a few years ago. They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands!

  • hey guys.. my guitar teacher said the difference is not much between gibson and epiphone.. what do u think? : )

  • Jimi Hendrix used to burst his guitar all the time. Once he became famous the guitar company used to give him guitars to burst on stage. I could never afford to do that.

  • @DTM1864 What?

  • @PBANDSNOW You don't see that too much today anymore.

  • i know where one is. its a true 59, been sitting in a closet since the 70s. ive messed around with it a few times, it has a broken string. the owner wont sell it to me or fix it. it pisses me off.

  • What Stones song?

  • The best !!!

  • Hey .. new video at 'The1959Burst'

  • Money, its a gas...

  • isnt McCartneys a 1960?

  • @derekswan144 so was Eric's on the Beano album, he did however use Keith Richards' '59 for a short time.

  • @derekswan144 you are correct on that ..

  • @The1959Burst I thought Clapton's was a 1960 too?

  • don´t get me wrong. I love gibson LP´s and the 59 burst it´s the most spectacular axe eve made. But I´ve always think that´s so stupid that those one with cream and black PU´s are more expensive. It´s only a colour. Anyway, sadly it´s true. Everyone talking about money. See phil x demos. He plays eruption in an original 59. It´s amazing. That´s what guitars were made.

  • Claptons guitar was in fact a 1960

  • @1952Telecaster: Yeah, how did they screw that up? You can also clearly see the knob inserts at 1:50, which didn't appear until 1960.

  • the dick at 3:37 probably doesn't play guitar

  • @daviejtube95 hey there .. sorry to pop your bubble but charlie is a great player

  • @The1959Burst didn't know that, it was just they way he spoke about the price of the guitar i've heard a lot of collectors speak like that.

  • where the movie i think this is a fraud.

  • @seerattan 'fraud' occurs when someone takes your money under false pretenses .. you havent spent any money, therefore no fraud has occurred

  • @The1959Burst sorry for the reply, but come one where si the movie.

  • @seerattan you sound frustrated .. i understand .. but, just think how i feel .. i have several years and a small fortune invested in this film ..

  • Comment removed

  • that's why I LOVE the honeyburst tone

  • I dont get it...whats a dog guitar?

  • @PBANDSNOW hey there .. the word 'dog' is used to describe something inferior .. a 'dog guitar' would be a shitty guitar .. thats what Les is saying

  • @The1959Burst O, haha, now i get it. Les Paul reminds me of my grandfather (who actually produced les paul) ;)

  • Keef had a 59 with a Bigsby which he sold to Mick Taylor in 1967.

  • Keef had a 59 with a Bigsby which he sold to Mick Taylor in 67.

  • clapton had a 60's burst not a 59.. although only for a while as it was nicked.

  • Any news about the release date?

I pray to the Rock N' Roll god that this movie will come out.

It's unbelievable that this movie hasn't released already.

    Rocking regards from Germany.

  • Shit !!! gave mine away the other day ...did not know the value of that ....some black guy got it.

Well still have my priced Tokai he he.

  • 1959: $275

    2011: $5,581

  • @Marquinator thank you..... i think that saids it all...275.00 in the 50s was a months salary.....RIDQULOUS....

  • I'm checking the attic... Wait... I live in Hungary

  • when is the damn movie gonna be out,it´s just a false statement

  • 'double crossing time' by john mayall & the bluesbreakers

  • whats the song at 2:04?

  • where can you buy a nice 59 Les Paul??? i think historics are cool but an original would obviously be better

  • @thecries I think most sane people would agree the 59 Les Pauls are nice, but they're definitely not worth it to the general public. That said, all custom shop Gibsons, even nowadays, are excellent guitars that are moderately overpriced. That said, you could probably manufacture a '59 burst that has the same look and tone for 5 figures. Any guitar that old would need work done and parts replaced in the last 50 years anyway.

  • if a lot of people think gibsons are crap then why do a lot of the greats play on one?! LOL

  • God i love the Koss man i thought his guitar was like not a les paul at firt because it was natural and Huge but hes just a small dude

  • i think it's unfair that there are a lot of people who own a '59 but don't even play guitar. it just seems wrong

  • watch?v=Z1ZUU8xi7qY&feature=related

  • Slash always looks happy when he's talking about Les Pauls!

  • Slash...Christ...Who really thinks that guy can play? He sucks...hard.

  • What's the song that starts at .22 ???

  • @AntiReal2010 Fleetwood Mac - Black Magic Woman!

  • Hello,

I politely ask you if you could please provide me the pícture in 0:20 . I've been looking forward to it for a long time, and I need it in the best resolution possible, because I want to make it a poster in my studio.

Thank you very much, hope you can release your film!

  • what's the song by the rolling stones @ 1:21 - 1:31?

  • @lastkiz13

    It's 'The Last Time'

  • i thought erics yardbirds les paul was a 1960 model?

  • @BoyleJr it was .. but the '59 is the most popular of the three years they were made and 'The 1959 Burst' makes a better title than 'The 1958, 59 & 60 Burst' .. just my preference

  • According to the 2002 book "50 Years of the Gibson Les Paul", Paul McCartney's lefty is a 1960 model as well. I'm curious as to how many (if any) '59 lefty's were made, weather their whereabouts are known, and what their value would be.

  • @The1959Burst

I'm curious as to how many (if any) '59 lefty's were made, weather their whereabouts are known, and what their value would be. I'm sure there other curious lefty's like myself out there as well...not like most of us could ever bear the cost of one. :)

  • @mxr226 i know of five between 1958, 59 and 60 .. i am currently working on a magazine article about mine .. its a very interesting and tragic story .. unfortunately it could take years before the article comes out (just like my movie)

  • @BoyleJr I'm pretty sure McCartney's left-handed LP is also a 1960

  • probably the best guitar ever made...

  • My dad bought a 1959 Les Paul at a party in 1967 from a drunk for $50. He held on to it for 15 years. He traded it in for a shitty acoustic worth about $200.

  • I have a 1960 LP Classic. It's the 1996 reissue. Simply put, the best guitar in my stable. Even these LP classics from the 90's are creating some crazy collector money. I bought mine new (factory direct) and I have seen them at guitar shows & even ebay for much more than I paid for it new 15 years ago.

  • the older guitars look so much better than the shitty looking newer ones

  • We all love the 59 sound... but, are you sure that the Slash's Les Paul is actually a 59 Les Paul? i mean, are you absolutely and completly sure that his axe is a burst?

  • @Gustav028 .. the guitars SLASH recorded with and became famous with were two replicas and an '87 (?) .. he did have an original Burst later (Joe Perry's) ..

SLASH is included in the film because he had a huge influence on the Burst market .. three hit videos from AFD (all featuring Slash playing Les Pauls) started the Japanese collectors on a Burst buying spree .. prices began skyrocketing .. the American collectors eventually jumped in and prices went even higher ..

  • @Gustav028 The one Slash is holding is real, and he bought it from Max who is a close friend of his.

  • @Gustav028 i believe his are reissues

  • whats the two songs in begining called

  • @danne9501 I heard the first one before, but I can't remember the title. I think It's sth by The Fleetwood Mac. The second is Black Magic Woman, by the same band.

  • @danne9501

The first one is called 'Something inside of me' by Fleetwood Mac, featuring Danny Kirwan on lead. Read back through the posts - I answered the same question about a year ago. As iagobroxado says, the second one is Mac's original version of Black Magic Woman.

  • release it!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey man! how come the movie wasn't completed?

was it due to copyrights with the gibson guitar company?

would love to see it completed!!! rock on man!

  • @gibsongold1970 there were no problems with Gibson .. they were cery supportive .. the music and performance releases are very difficult and expensive .. with any luck it could be released this year

  • @The1959Burst --------Where??????

  • @bassminusb unfortunately we didnt make the xmas deadline .. the film is still not finished .. currently i have absolutely no prediction as to when it will be released (if ever) .. sorry ..

  • Where?

  • in 1966 a friend of mine who was returning from a 11/2 year hitch in the navy came to see me. He showed me a guitar in a crummy case which he bought for $125 in a San Diego pawnshop. It was a '59 burst!!!

  • 3 years ago Gary Moore sold Peter Green's '59 Burst which he had in his possession for 2M!

  • the one joe walsh is using probaly is the same one jimmy page is holding

  • can someone tell me the name of the song at the very begining ?

    Thanks in advance !

  • @Ivayloi123 thats from the beano album double crossing time

  • That's my next one after my ovation I'm getting in a couple weeks

  • come on when is the movie gonna be available it´s gonna be 3 years since this trailer is out, movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie movie now

  • its amazing how low jimmy pages les paul is. and how awesome he looks

  • im playing an Ibanez S470 but this is really my favorite guitar!!

  • Well buddy, if i found one in my basement or something, I don't see myself hanging on to it just to then be afraid to even play it for fear of damaging it or having it be stolen. I would totally sell it to one of the greats, buy myself two custom shop Les Pauls, a nice house, and play my two new Les Pauls every night in my new pad drinking wine with the wife, but that's just me.

  • I would keep it safe for sure, I would love to even be in the same room as one of these guitars. I own a Gibson Les Paul custom in sunburst and I persnally think, I would rather wait the fifty years to see how it ages, haha. But if I found one, I just can't see my self parting with it.

  • My favorite guitar

  • Where's ACE FREHLEY!!!!

  • or Peter Frampton for that matter

  • GGGEEEIILLLL

  • at 1:08 is that Eric Johnson

  • I love the whole vibe... way to fo Max!

  • heyyyyyyy so when is the movie gonna be out, come one tell us

  • so when will the movie come out i´m wanna see it

  • Nice video but too bad they're constantly talking about money.

  • @LesPaulCryBaby something which we all dont have alot of lol

  • no guitar is worth a million dollars

    but some guitars are priceless...

  • this is the BEST guitar EVER!!!

  • the best guitar ever ! I love my les paul

  • what's the song the rolling stones appear playing in the Ed Sullivan Show???

  • Song is "This will be the last time."

  • 'The Last Time'

  • That whole album is awesome. December's Children and Out of Our Heads in my opinion are the best the stones EVER did.

  • No, you're wrong if I found one in my attic (which I haven't) I wouldn't be $400,000 dollars richer; I'd be one 1959 Les Paul better. I wouldn't sell it; ever.

  • that makes two of us.

  • I would!! I would pickup one of those fender squier's with the amp and cable with it!!!! Keep on rockin "the hoff"

  • yeha i hear you, if i found one in my attic id keep it, gibsons arnt the same nowadays

  • finally

  • why cant gibson just keep making them the same way

  • thats why i just can´t buy gibson.i rather buy a made in japan 1980´s les paul,burny,greco,tokai

  • yea

  • they are making it the same way, ony the wood is diferent, alot diferent, and that's the main thing, why the guitars don't sound so loud, and open as then back in the 60's. Pickups are a bit diferent also, don't know how, maybe pickup making technology has improved, in a way, but the main thing is the wood.

  • because wood and pickups are different and even if they did it wouldnt sound even close to what these sound like because these guitars have aged over the past 50 years wich makes it sound alot better

  • true true the ageing does play a big part, but they could atleast keep the holy grail going. The reissue just doesent cut it...

  • true dat

  • Does anyone know when the full documentary will be released?

  • R.I.P Lester. Wish you good times in the afterlife.

  • RIP Les Paul. I would love to own one of this babies.

  • R.I.P. Les Paul. Where would music be without you.

  • this is the trailer but where can i buy this movie

  • "MAX" is the man...

  • when i saw this i went into my attic and found a Yamaha FG 360. and its ass is old

  • to me black beauty les pauls are the best, but ill always be a fender guy:)

  • nm, its from the beano album, why dont more people know about it, if it werent for this video i know i wouldnt, it is the best blues i have ever heard!!, and htis video is the shit

  • that burst he pulls out is the sexiest guitar i have ever seen... Can anyone give me a list of the songs on here? They all rock!

    PLZ, PLZ, PLZ!!!!

  • does neone know where you can buy the FULL documentary?

  • i didnt now there was a documentary, but if u find out would you let me know...i would like it too

  • ....SLASH IS PLAYING A REPLICA at 2:48

    not a real Gibson!!

  • yes but he owns a '59. He does not play it live.

  • who told you that?

  • his book. he has michael bloomfields old 59, he HAD joe perry's 59 but gave it to joe for his birthday, and a les paul replica that was used to record appetite and a lot of songs on his other albums

  • How do you know it's bloomfield's 59? That one has disappeared

  • shit.. imeant to say steve hunters.. forgot bloomfieds is gone :S ps rip les paul

  • fuckin amazing

  • Beautiful.

  • The only grall....best guitar gibson le paul 59 !!!

  • best guitar ever

  • That's a tune off the the "Beano" album. I think it's "Double Crossing Time" sung by John Mayall.

I never heard Gibson Les Paul til I saw Bloomfield playing a Gold Top at the Fillmore in '66. This was a year before the "Beano" album came out in '67. He did say he was very surprised when he toured England in "66 all the good blues players were playing Les Paul guitars. Some very influential players of the late '50's early '60's were Hubert Sumlin, Freddy King and Mickey Baker.

  • whats the very first song and the song at 2:05
