The first four minutes is where he records several parts into his looper. That's why it's not the most interesting part. You might like how he's a complete one man live band though.
@TheHorsenation Same with me, up until 4:00 it was just a waste of space because it had nothing do with the Last Ninja ;) Thanks for the heads and up saving me a few minutes :)
It's based on his remake of the same theme from the Ninja Remix -game, so it's not the same as the one from the original The Last Ninja. That version was groovier as well.
He leaves out the really cool part - the climax which the whole song builds up to (in my opinion) and makes a very jazzy groove out of it. This sounds very happy and dancy, while the original sounded rigid and therefore like action.
Ever wondered why jazz tunes are never used at the climax of movies? Well, close your eyes, start this song and picture what our ninja hero is doing. I guess staggering about on opium approaches it better than avenging injustice.
Love this fucking guy

sometimes good musicians produce crap as well.
the 4 minute intro is total crap,
and I don't like when musicians turn a great piece into a jazzy or whatever improvisation so you can hardly make out the original anymore.
It seems like they want to make themselves more important than the original tune.

Way to ruin his own song.

It's from Ben Daglish (Last Ninja 1 - Stage 1)

@Co19801003 Yeah but the whole point of these improvisation sessions is to have fun. What's the point in playing the track as it appeared in the game?
I really like this version.

@Jarren202
remixers dont need to play the song 1:1 obviously,
but it makes a huge difference that SOME
can put the original tune into "overdrive" and build upon it, make it really cool,
while others try to play totally irrelevant and unrelated crap OVER the original,
leave stuff out and f*ck it up - like Reyn does here.

@TheHorsenation
he was asked to make a disco version of the last ninja on the spot,
and he did a good job of what he was asked to do, considering the short notice.
He could very well be thnking what he was going to do next during the 4 mins, its not easy to do something on the spot like that.
