  • voice is amazing in this track

  • in case anyone wants to know this track it's "I Want a Forest". it's only on the Cuttings II - EP.

  • wow

    i love you guys!

this is the only adult conversation i've seen on youtube in years!

  • i love saying something controversial, all the people up their own arses appear to post a pompous reply as if by magic

  • papiyyon is the pronunciation lol. Editors are not a well known band, though they should be, unfortunately quality has gone out of the window in recent years. Yet their electronic conversion is getting more debate than dylan ever did, perhaps they gonna be huge, they should be, this album deserves the mercury an last years was given out to the token act so they cant afford to do it again for a cupla years

  • re: More debate than dylan goes electric, dont talk nonsence.

  • jornhilhorst - i would like to agree with what you are saying, but in today's world, there is so much garbage music that sells (rap, pop, country, etc) big time, and i don't see it evolving. Good luck to the Editors, haven't heard much of their music, but they do seem like they are trying to have their own original sound, so I'll give them credit for that, although I'm not quite feeling terrific vibes from their music (yet?)

  • I guess this song is on the 2nd CD because it's not on the 1st CD on the album.

  • It is indeed. The 2nd CD is called Cuttings II and the track is titled "I Want a Forest". I thought I recognised the song when I first heard!

  • This album is gonna be incredible :)

  • editors are there own, they don't need to change.

  • I totally agree with jornhilhorst every band changes their music at a certain stage or people just get bored of them and move on,but to be honest i do not see Editors messing this one up,they are a superb band and no one can argue at that. And just after listening to their recent song Papillon which is a change, yes, but a good one in my eyes. Can't wait to hear more from a top band.

  • I absolutely agree with you, (:

I was slightly apprehensive a few months ago at the prospect of a 'new' sound, but having heard some new tracks I am even more in love with Editors! :D

My only problem with this new album, (from what I've heard of it anyway), is the song name, 'Papillon'. I have absolutely no idea of its pronounciation! s:

Darn.. perhaps dropping french was a bad idea!

    :D

  • Tom Smith said in an interview that their would be no guitars featured on ITL&OTE. They're doing a Yeah Yeah Yeah's, or a reverse Keane. All I can say is I'll give it a chance, but I'm not optimistic. I'm extremely frustrated that so many good bands find it necessary to completely change their sound and ideas at their 3rd album after 2 very good ones. Its selfish, it lets down fans, it shows very short span of interest, and it rarely produces a good album. This sample seems no different.

  • You are wrong....

They won fans after 2 albums, and going to a new sound will make new fans, at the same time the old fans will like it anyway because it's Editors, and their music is simply great,

  • well nobody likes em just because they're Editors... but hell ofr course they got artistic freedom and im glad new bands use it and give a big finger to sticking to a safe sound only to fade after 2 years for lack of evolving your sound... check out every great band in the world... they ALL evolve.. u don;t ? then ur gone. world changes , people change hell everything changes , as should and does the music. AMEN to the music

  • Selfish? Are you joking? Bands make whatever fucking music they want, they should never do songs just because the fans want them to. And I'd rather see bands changing than doing the same album over and over.

  • Sorry dude, totally disagree, if a band sticks to it's path the fans say; "You only have to buy one album, then you have em all", it is also comercially a very good choice if it sounds like Papillon.

I am a new fan due to this epic song!

  • Totally agreeing with alexs1422.

  • Oh my goooooood, EXACTLY. Took the words right out of my mouth. I

  • There are plenty of exceptions to what alexs1422 is saying, I totally agree with jornhilhorst as well.

Take 'Intimacy' by Bloc Party for example, full of great songs (especially with the newer release with 'One More Chance' on) and even if you dont like it as much as the previous two albums its hard to see it as a bad album in any sense.

I welcome changes in music, I've started to like a much wider span now that typical 'alternative/indie' bands are changing their style :)

  • This.. reminds me of Dr. Robotnik's boss battles from the Old Sonic The Hedgehog games.

  • You now win my prize of comment of the day, extraordinarily true.

  • Sounding Rather Wierd And Robotic Like Lols

  • Does anybody know what the new album is called? all i can guess is that ITL&OTE is an abbreviation

  • In This Light & On This Evening

  • In This Light and On This Evening

That's the word from their official MySpace and website.

  • thanks a lot. have they set a release date yet?

  • September sometime

  • is it just me or does anyone else think glastonbury is going to be shit this year i mean no bands have done anything this year so far what are they going to sing? the same songs from last year.

  • Whats wrong with listening to the same songs. I rather listen to the old songs i like than have the make hurried albums and perform shit.

  • the white stripes wrote and recorded there last album in 2weeks.. enough said.

am just saying wheres all the bands gone no ones doing anything at the moment.

  • Manics have their new album out monday.

    Green Day tomorrow.

Two of the biggest and best bands around. Bloc party, Editors have albums being recorded as we speak.....

  • damn Bloc Partyis already working on their fourth? that was quick!

  • u said bloc party are recording new album.are u sure man?

  • AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I CANT WAIT!!!! oooh release date will be anticipated greatly :P

  • WTF? Are they workin with Glas Vegas? At 0:08 you see the shirt. If they are, this could be very very awsome. Looking forward to the album.

  • Sorry. 0:07

  • I'm desperately waiting for this album....

  • i've yet to hear anything remotely sounding like REM in Editors' music and i don't personally rate REM very high (I totally lost interest after the album Monster). With Flood on board my expectations are now quite high, He's always brought the best from artists he's worked with, I'm thinking Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode (the darker stuff) and PJ Harvey.

  • Un grupo que escuche por no se donde, pero quede enamorado de su musica, espero que salga pronto y vengan a mexico

  • Ojala sea tan buen disco como los anteriores..

    Ojala vinieran a Chile!

  • siiiiiii wn o

    ojala

    Saludos.

  • The album is supposed to be more electronic and they're working with Flood? Sounds like Depeche Mode inspiration to me! :D

  • seriously? wow they're pulling a Bloc Party move on this one. adding an electornic tinge to their third album. awesome!!

  • what was that?

the music from the video is a new song or what?

    can somebody tell me please?

i didnt know that they were working on a new album.

  • Apparently the background music for the video is the song 'In This Light & On This Evening'. Thats what I've heard!

  • Sounds brill :) 5 months left haha

  • Im looking forward for this, just heard the old albums

  • itl&ote in this light and on this evening a song mentioned by them a while back

  • YAY cant wait!

  • 0:07 Was that Christopher Urbanowicz in a Glasvegas t-shirt?

    It can't be!

Or is it the guy from Glasgvegas? If so, what is he doing with Editors in the studio?!

  • What a tease indeed! Can't wait for the new album - can't imagine Editors doing anything bad!

  • hope they wont go kinda metal on their new album...

  • ITL&OFT????

    Talk about a tease!

  • It's actually "ITL & OTE". Wonder if that's the album's title?

  • It's an anagram of toilet.

  • wow, i'm already more excited about this album than i have been about anything for quite a while.

  • Thanks for the update guys, I can't wait for your new album! Have fun there! ;)

  • It will be a great album...If you love Editors, you'll always and anyway love them...I'm waitin' guuyys!!!

  • hhmmm..awesome shirt but weird viking metal intro-like piece of song..

  • I'll just wait and see how the album is. Than i'll say if I like it. I can only say that it sounds really diffrent from the other two albums..=P

  • Don't be so quick to judge an entire album by a 15 second preview of a very early unfinished version of a song! The album could turn out to be like anything yet.

  • should be good :)

i do love their old stuff though, and i hope it hasn't changed to much, :(

  • I hope they dont lose touch with their older stuff :( CANT WAIT THOUGH!

  • finally some news! ohh I cant wait, it's gonna be another epic album! I'm sure of it! good luck guys with the recording, we're waiting!!!

  • wow :D sounds awesome XD can't wat to hear the new album :P

  • i'm so curious 2 listen this new work

  • Gay music, I hope that's not off the new album. lol

  • can't wait.

  • Flood indeed produced the Killers` "Sam`s Town". He was in the booklet dressed as a Native American too.

But this is seriously good news! I loved Sam`s Town, and I love Editors, so this album can`t go wrong, IMO!

  • Thanks for the info, Golem2555. I was wondering who "Flood" was. This Flood guy is clearly a genius; Sam's Town is EPIC.

  • Flood's recorded with the likes of U2 and R.E.M. This is going to be a very interesting album, especially since they are influenced by Michael Stipe and his fellow rock Gods that are the mighty R.E.M.

  • He has produced some very good albums - "Downward Spiral" (NIN), "Mellon Collie" (SP) and "Meds" (Placebo), among others.

  • yeah, those are the titles I had in mind when I said it's awesome they're working with him. those albums made history!!

  • Flood?! Hell yeah! Depeche Mode is my no. 1 band, and Flood was an amazing producer for DM!

  • i think Flood did Killers' Sam's Town

  • Working with Flood?? Freaking awesome!!!

  • nice...

  • can't wait!

  • YAY!
