They're not always aggressive. Sometimes they're the strong silent type (wink)......and as far as Bush goes, he's only at 31 percent approval -- so obviously conservatives are dissatisfied. I know liberals would like to link Bush to every conservative in order to discredit conservatives in the eyes of the voters.

Ayn Rand was not a conservative. Her criticism of conservatism was very harsh. She viewed them as destroyers of Capitalism who defend institutions not because they are good, but simply because they are old. Ayn Rand was a liberal, but not a contemporary liberal. Contemporary liberals support deficits, high teaxes, war, welfareism, and corporatism. Neo-conservatives support deficits, high taxes, war, welfareism, and corporatism. Neither are representative of Ayn Rand's philosophy.

See, this is what I don't get. "Contemporary liberals" are characterised as supporters of deficit spending, but the most recent Democratic President reduced deficits, slashed government and cut welfare benefits. The Democratic Preisdent-Elect promised similar things before the economy cratered. The idealized "conservatism" hasn't existed since the second term of Gingrich's House.

Also, unless you're a revolutionary, pretending to hate all current working political theories is pretty weak.

"Don't really care" is another way of dodging responsibility. You don't have to think up compromises or do any intellectual heavy lifting - you can snipe because you "don't care," and thus are in enviable position of only being part of the debate when you are indisputably right.

There are genuine differences in Washington. Learn about them. Or don't - and stay away from politics.

Even when he was in his 80's he still went to Saudi Arabia to entertain the troops in 1990

1997, Bob received one of his greatest tributes when Resolution 75 was unanimously passed by members of both houses making him an Honorary Veteran - the first individual so honored in the history of the United States.

Too bad there aren't many in Hollywood like him.
