Star Trek: Slowly forgetting it's essence, becoming more and more like Star Wars with ray-beam guns with each passing year. If we keep this up, Star Trek will soon look like Flash Gordon for organized people. Trek does not need big, frag grenades in place of Photon Torpedoes, and Phasers need not be that flashy. Star Trek actually did much better as a low-budget TV series about the future.

EvE-Online is much better than this game.

In STO ... there is nothing to do than doing the same daily missions and killing the same enemies over and over again. Any not to mention the PvP .. lol, there is nothing to it.

+ after some point you can stop paying EvE-Online for monthly subs.

+ in EvE-Online, you actually experience the trill of putting your ship on the line.

+ in EvE-Online there is a better social network, chat, mail, voice chat, offline interactions systems.

@davelantor I guess, i played, i got up to a Dreadnaught and the second i got out of the base in sector 0.5 space i get attacked by about 30-40 people, i guess if u enjoy spending months to learn one skill its the game for you, however, Star Trek is an OLD name, vastly older than EVE, in fact if you dont add the online you get some chick named eve. type in Star Trek and tell me, if STO really was that bad, then no one would play it, not to mention that EVE online is fundamentally, time based.

@ColinTHooper All games require some time investment for success. and in any game where pvp is involved. if you make unwise decisions your going to pay for it. For Example Undocking a Capital ship without a support fleet around you = Unwise... That being said, EVE is a new breed of MMO and isnt for everyone and it isnt fair to EVE or Star Treck Online to Compare them against each other. Also... Just because somethng is old doesnt make it good, that just makes it Old!

its expensive, glitchy, not accurate at all to their film and tv series counter-arts, and the gameplay is repetative, boring, and nothing more of a grind.

In many ways i can see it relating to Eve online... true graphics aernt that good but eve started the same way and look at them now give sto the time and they will be epic in the end.. probably much more than eve is....

I just dont like sto doesnt have soverignty soo you cant take over systems etc... and the only way to lvl a kligon is to pvp.. where as Feds get pve and pvp options but pfft.... Grief the fed

This will be like World of Warcraft in space, Klingons will be able to level with PVE aswell as PVP. The just showcase the Federation more becuase thats the point of view people watched the series from. I'm sure as the game becomes closer to the release date they will have some videos showcasing the Klingons.

@love2game12 you can pve whit Klingon`s as well :) , but you would Live long and die of old age , and that's a big shame imo :))

@love2game12 i dont like Eve, im not sure why, i mean, theres no new environments, its all space, theres not many different things to do, do a quest that tells you to go collect a crate, then circle around a ship while you watch your ship kill, or you could circle around a rock and watch your ship mine it, jsut seems mundane to me

hmm... mining really isnt that exciting you musn't have experienced low sec or 0.0 at all right? try high sec mercenary or exploration invention or manufacturing setting up your own pos moon mining get a death star form your own corps mass as many ppl as u can roam low sec and 0.0 for pew pew set up gate camps and watch all the ppl coming in spam the warp button plenty of things to do in eve even try faction wars ...... i can give alot more but my count is up lol

i think they should make this game kind of co-op, so it'd be like, 5 players on a ship, one person is in charge of setting course and the control of the ship, two people control the weapons, etc.

it'd be fun if it was like that, I'd play with all my friends

Everyone has their own ship, mate, when you're travelling in a fleet and go down to a planet your friend's captains replace your normal crew memebers on the away team. So in actual fact it's much better than your described co-op mode lol.

Well it works much like WoW, you get to-gether in five man groups to go into a instance (The planet and the space surrounding it). Unfortunatly the 25-40 man raiding material takes place as giant raid on raid battles in space. Either against PC or NPC.

Granted, the graphics lack much, however, the game as a whole looks great. I look forward to this game, it seems like it can gain a great amount of momentum as it relates to users.
