Yeah, adding more resistance will bring up gain, but it seems to add noise as well. I like the unity gain type design. You could always just add a clean boost circuit to the output by using a jfet. I have an original Thomas Int. Corp. with the brown "stack of dimes" and it has a great sweep and vocal tone. It must be used in the first place in the signal chain though, and if run into a high impedance pedal/amp, you can leave it on all the time. The JEN needed the amp turned up to drown out sqeak
Hey can you talk about your vintage wah's that you have. Tell us the diffrrance between them and did you mod this wah to the vintage style ones you have. That will be a very cool vid. This one is cool too.
Forgive me if you mention this in the vid, but what guitar/amp combo did you use? I should set up a camera and do some testing too. I have an RMC3 - would be interesting to compare with your modded wah.
Kudos for that! I know how it is (I work on amps), you change one component and at first it sounds terrible, but then you change another and all of a sudden it sounds awsome. So many combinations, some work, others don't, but you have to try them all to know what sounds best. Now I have to buy a crybaby to try your mods ;)
@troyguitarist well I had to work at it I spent ant least 3 to 4 hours trying every mod on the internet so I knew exactly what does what & then coming up with a couple of changes extra on my own ... one by accident by misreading the color codes on a resistor
@patfurlan nice, thanks for the tip! If I understand correctly, there are two types of Fasel inductors, a yellow and a red one. Which one is in your wah?
great video. I'll be doing this very soon...any experience with the yellow fasel inductor, as opposed to the red?

Very nice, Pat! Just picked up a cheap wah and may dig in and give it a shot. Where would I get a fasel inductor (as opposed to a flux capacitor)?

@guitartonequest same place I did... dunlop sells them at your local music store ... you need to special order it but mine came in 1 week

That surprised me too! Wow, great tone! I love your mod instructions/comparisons. Please let us know how you like the inductor change. Cheers!
