seriously decriminalize/legalize weed. you get rid of major drug trafficking and organized crime. how can the dealer make money when its illegal. it also gets rid of having to kill over weed. it would weaken the mexican drug cartels exponentially. they make a hefty profit off of weed sales. take that away and you cripple them
i smoke weed. im not addicted at all. i smoke occasionally and it does no harm to my health other than weight gain lol. seriously it is harmless especially if its vaporized. when vaporized you just get the thc. alcohol and cigarettes kill thousands of americans every year. you cant even od on weed. the only way you could die from weed is if you smoke your weight in weed, which is impossible because that is very very very expensive. weed is waay better than alcohol and cigarettes.
theres a group out there called LEAP i heard a pretty good idea from a while back [it wasnt just weed]: if you stop the war on drugs, and legalize and control all drugs, you will stop the drug wars...
This country is fucking stupid what's the deference between voting Ron Paul and voting in Iran if every single American voted for Ron Paul he still wouldn't get elected... Your American government system and media is probably amongst the worst and most corrupt of any... America needs to literally fight to get Ron Paul in office or like in Iran a few radicals will ruin and run this nation forever
@motomissle They can assassinate anyone they want at any time. Anyone can disappear now. The only reason we even had the full frontal of Saddam, Qaddaffi, etc., is because it was a good way to showboat military power and show force to other nations. The trouble is, Marijuana users don't vote. There was a proposition in California to legalize pot and not only was it defeated they intereviewed people the next morning and a lot of the people behind the bill didn't vote because they were stoned and forgot.
@BottleConcreteBlond actually it lost almost exactly in line with several polls from before the actual vote. As time continues, those most accurate pollsters that predicted the closest asociation of poll responders versus actual vote are polling an even closer no/yes and leading indicators from same polls shows accelerating yes now around 50/50.
Aside from MJ smokers, this is just as much bout hemp prodution and ADM, Monsanto Cotton growers, wood farm proponets and futures markets same products
@BottleConcreteBlond That's really not the case. Not trying to get into it but there were a lot of things in the prop that weren't acceptable to pro-legalization voters. It's not that they just plum forgot about it. If this is going to be done, it has to be done right.
@moocus It's anecdotal but I had many pot smoking friends who, the day after the election, realized they just never got around to voting. There were also a few who just never got around to registering. They're sweet people but it's hard to build a movement around people who just want to get mellow.

Funny how many miss the fact that drug wars gainfully employ thousands of people - trade unions at FBI, police, prison, managers, lawyers, judges, drug dealers at the expense of the rest (via tax or inflation.)
When productive citizens with jobs who pay taxes are locked up because they smoked a weed; what is the benefit to the other Tax Payers who have to pay for the expense of the police, jail, court, prison, and possibly halfway house and probation officers.

I work in addictions treatment. most heroin addicts start with prescription opiate pain meds (percacet, vicadin, oxycodone) and then move to heroin once they either build up a tolerance or can no longer get a dr script. Scripts for these meds are given out like candy for every ailment under the sun causing people to become addicted. If these meds are legal and causes more addictions than anything else then why can't marijuana be legal. Oh wait big corps cant patent or make money on marijuana.

I used to be against legalizing weed and I can honestly say I have never tried it but then I became a lawyer and saw just how much money we spend on bringing in young teens to court for a mere simple possession of pot. We have to pay for them to have a lawyer, for the judge and all those needed in court to be there and if the teen happens to be black, then that pretty much ruins all chances of him/her to ever find a job in the future. I guess it's strange he went from youtube to television and back to youtube again filtered through television.
Strange times we're living in here. Soon it will all be over. 2012 - END IS NIGH! loljk RON PAUL 2012!
Drugs are illegal in order to support the wealthy few who profit from it. The Government makes billions through their alphabet soup organizations, the cartels make billions, the pharmas make billions, and so on.. They rail "Give Us Your Money So We Can Fight the Evil Drug Lords". They know there would be no drug lords if they did not create the illegal market. Take away the money and you take away the incentive. The only people who lose in this war are the everyday people.
if no war on drugs the goverment would not have the excuse to bust down your doors and would not be able to keep all there storm troopers funded. the war on drugs is there reason to imprison blacks.its racist you know it i know it .hell they blew up all our banks in america so blacks can own homes but throw them in jail for haveing the wrong kind of vegitation in there pocket.
If you asked people if they would want to pay less tax then I am pretty sure the majority would say yes, but that dosent dictate its the right thing to do if you also want a functional society.
Legalizing all drugs would be detrimental to society. Most people watching this wouldnt touch drugs like Meth, but there are people using Meth and increasing access by legalizing it wouldnt make the situation any better.
@Lobos222 You're half right. Full legalization of ALL drugs would not be a solution. But that doesn't mean we should keep prohibition. Prohibiting any drug, to any degree, causes far more damage than blanket legalization. Prohibition puts innocent people in jail and dangerous criminals in thousand dollar suits.
@Lobos222 Yes but thats their choice, If they want to fuck their body up with something as stupid as meth then they are responsible for their own actions. As long as the user doesnt victimize anyone else while under the influence it shouldnt matter, if they do harm someone because of it then they shall be prosecuted as a criminal for their crimes. Pharma drugs can fuck people up just as bad as any street drug Oxycontin valium etc. Govt are still humans, their judgement is no better than mine.
its amazeing to me how the 1 percent can tell everyone else what to do., just like those who dont belive in god, how do they get all this air time on the meida, just like the gays such a small percentage, yet they own hollywood, what a FUCKED up place to live.
we basically finance the drug cartels with these laws. they make millions and with money comes power. how do u think they can afford all the gunz they buy from our government
Anyone who believe that possessing marijuana is such a threat it needs to be punished by a five year federal prison sentence is a radical totalitarian.
what this shows is something that i've been saying for years and that is that our politicians no longer listen to the will of the people if they ever did. this is more than enough reason to vote out every incumbent in office today and vote in anyone else other than a republican or a democrat....
If marijuana was officially fully legal and decriminalized to cultivate, smoke, share, etc. i wouldn't want to smoke it much anymore...just like i used to try to drink whenever i can before i was 21 and the day i turned 21 to buy alcohol I can honestly say i didnt want to drink ever again and i am now 23 and i really never drink...you want what you can have....:)
@skinnywhop87 Correct but heres the key thing ur missing to ur statement. If YOUR state doesnt represent you in this legislation you can always move to another state. Also its easier to change legislation in a local area rather than national. If states officials realize their gonna lose out on residents and potential earnings from those residents because they prefer to live in a state that has it legalized the legislation will change. That is why letting states handle it is best everyone can win
From October 04, 2007! "Jon Gettman of Drug Science, author of the report, Lost Revenues and Other Costs of Marijuana Laws, governments at all levels spend $10.7 billion on arresting, prosecuting, and punishing marijuana offenders. At the same time, by maintaining the policy of marijuana prohibition, those governments are forgoing an estimated $31.1 billion a year in lost tax revenues by keeping the $113 billion a year marijuana industry in the underground economy." Thats $41.8 billion in 2007!
What are they talking about? The government loves weed. They hate to legalize it because they can't make black market profit on it. Right now the government floods the streets with it and make about 90% profit off it. If it went to free market they only get the tax money for it. That's the real issue. That also true about all illegal drugs. Not to mention the billions they make in court cost and imprisonment. If they're gonna talk about it get the facts straight.
The DEA, more than anything ensures the USA's grip on world drug trafficking and trade. Legalisation = home growing = home medication = doom for the pharmaceutical, petrochemical and drug cartels. DEA is the attack dog of these entities.
The DEA is a complete and utter waste of time and money. Most years there efforts to intercept the flow of drugs into and within the U.S are less than 1% effective. The Drug industry is worth 64 billion, even more. There is no way that anyone can make a serious dent in that. The only thing the DEA do is make drugs more expensive and for the Heroin and Coke heads out there, that just means turning to a life of crime to get there hit.
Mitt= scyo warmongering maniac Mitt may be the guy to bring WW3- bussiness experience, very religous, loves Isreal, hates Iran, if president will control nukes, chances are war with Iran will lead to China getting involved thus Mitt panicking and launching some nukes. Pick someone who will legalize all drugs and bring back the troops- if not don't fucking complain about WW3
Ron Paul won't legalize it, but he'll make sure he's not sending in federal agents to states that have legalized marijuana and arresting sick people or recreational pot smokers. He'll let the states do what they want in terms of legalization. We just have to write to our reps and have our voices heard. Illinois just voted it down again by 7 votes. I wonder how many letters it would have taken to get that to change?
Politicians only think in terms of their corporate sponsors and fellow politicians, so when they say that legalizing marijuana is an extreme view they're absolutely right, because among their campaign donors and other politicians it's completely taboo. What the people want isn't even a concern for them - at least not above and beyond what it takes to get re-elected. And even if you elect someone else, they'll do the same thing, and last guy is still just as wealthy with just as many connections.
As a Republic it is running as it was meant to be. A Republic is not necessarily a democracy. There is a reason why people can't bring referendums to the federal level. Heck not all states allow it either. The reason is that you and me have very little power to affect change. Congress is to make laws, not referendums from the people. Now the President can make laws too but it was meant to be like this :)
Ron Paul if you want real change. Otherwise keep watching Idol ;)
Ifi t grows naturally in our environment its simply audacious to think we can make it illegal or not. Once we process/refine it then yes i agree illegal.
Getting a lot of people to say they don't oppose the choice of a public option is something different than massive agreement with the total government takeover of all healthcare. There are lies, damned lies and statistics.
I buy my occasional half ounce safely and comfortably. And if its dry I don't spas out..... I think busting people for weed is a racist farce. This country was built on Hemp in hemp we trust.
America is not a democracy, it is run by the One Percent. Continuing to talk about it like it is anything else is a waste of time. The One PErcent could give a shit less what Americans want or need. They'll be putting you in jail and cutting out your kidneys like it was the most natural thing in the world before too long
it not about drugs. it's about protectionism. Marijuana would replace a huge number of inferior meds. Our leaders would prefer people are forced to buy an inferior product from their trillionaire buddies than have access to cheap healing medicine that actually cures . True story.
@Textynn IDK ive had cheaper meds do more for me than MJ, it works both ways, I luv MJ but its not this wonder drug everyone makes it out to be. It mildly helps with pain unless its highly potent (which leads to intoxication), It helps with various "tummy aches", encourges eating, and a few other things. Its not gonna help your blood pressure, save you from a heart attack, fight HIV, and the list goes on. Im simply saying dont knock Pharms so much they do help, MJ would be a nice addition though
@OldSchoolSkill Almost. "because they have never done drugs and are easily misled."
That's not the root of the issue... I used to think it was. 80% of us sit around thinking how 80% of us are misled.
We're not dumb... we're just arrogant. The second someone figures out what is REALLY going on, they decide that they are one of the few smart people, and they begin preaching to the "enlightened"... which is most of us.
percentage of americans that believe one way or the other shouldn't necessarily determine policy. the difference between the marijuana law and the public option for healthcare is vast. marijuana law has to do with personal liberty, while the public option or any socialized program destroys personal liberty. "democracy is two wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner."
@bamboo4tameshigiri I admit i don't know much about synthetic THC except it is bad. Complete legalization of pot would be ideal. Moving it to a schedule 2 drug would be a good first step and easier at the current moment. Another good idea would be to have a national referendum vote of the people intead of politicians controlling everything.
@Twostones00 No. Synthetic THC, which is more potent, more dangerous and LESS effective is schedule III. Cannabis is now schedule I. It is not a schedule II substance either. Schedule II is fetanyl and cocaine. Get real.
Just stop saying to people what they should believe or what they should do and start giving the facts needed to decide. If we want a smarter nation, we need to trust people. Stop using fear and instead use the word "maybe" more often. That would be a huge progress to reason.
IT MAKES NO DAMN SENSE to continue policies that are clearly helping only criminals and the criminal/industrial complex. Unfortunately, the control freaks that work for the DEA will have to find HONEST work.
@AlpaDog1983 I wouldn't do drugs but I won't stop the next guy from doing it lol. Never understood voting since most of us are still being indoctrinated by public schools that "Drugs are bad m'kay?".
Not buying it... weed is safer than alcahol, it doesn't cause violence, and sativas stimulate neurogenesis and the canabinoid A receptors in the brain. It puts the brain into a non-conditioned state where preconceptions aren't as forceful in analysis.
And for figuring out the nature of happiness, Aristotle + Psilocybin can remove emotional attachment and assist in objective analysis of personal motivation. Very detached. Very useful.
@AlpaDog1983 WHAT? DEMOCRACY??? That hasn't been tried since Athens... Democracy is dangeous... the Constitution is dangerous... the people are dangerous... government is benign.
@AlpaDog1983 Waste of time, "they" ***tell*** us what the results are on every single election and thing we vote on. It's always 51% in their favor. Thousands of elections, always 51% won by the One Percent interests. Isn't that amazing. NOT.
the drug war is about the militrization of our domestic law enforcement, just look at how many no knock warrents where swat murders people in their home over pot
@fuzzjunky They should be happy Moxy's linking to them, otherwise most of us wouldn't see anything they offer, "the Young Turds" (still cracks me up) are a joke, at least Cenk is, egonmaniac personified.

Okay this is weird seeing Cenk on MOXNews via youtube via Current TV after having seen him on TYT directly on youtube for so long while at the same time watching people like chris wallace and anderson cooper on MOXNews.

Snowblindinfinity 1 month ago
if no war on drugs the goverment would not have the excuse to bust down your doors and would not be able to keep all there storm troopers funded. the war on drugs is there reason to imprison blacks.its racist you know it i know it .hell they blew up all our banks in america so blacks can own homes but throw them in jail for haveing the wrong kind of vegitation in there pocket.
its all about control and money.
it always is

The videos argument isnt necessarily reasonable.
Lobos222 1 month ago
@Lobos222 You are incorrect. Prohibition ALWAYS does more damage to society than the drugs themselves. Always. Two words for you: Al Capone.

MisterJessup 1 month ago
@Lobos222 Yes but thats their choice, If they want to fuck their body up with something as stupid as meth then they are responsible for their own actions. As long as the user doesnt victimize anyone else while under the influence it shouldnt matter, if they do harm someone because of it then they shall be prosecuted as a criminal for their crimes. Pharma drugs can fuck people up just as bad as any street drug Oxycontin valium etc. Govt are still humans, their judgement is no better than mine.

skinnywhop87 1 month ago

BadSwineDOTcom 1 month ago

DEA is the attack dog of these entities.
thedriftmc 1 month ago 2
@thedriftmc The DEA protects the cartels while Obama passes mandates.
(While this POS Cunk called me a racist Teabagger.)
FreedomsReigning 1 month ago

Tethloach1 1 month ago 8
Ron Paul won't legalize it, but he'll make sure he's not sending in federal agents to states that have legalized marijuana and arresting sick people or recreational pot smokers. He'll let the states do what they want in terms of legalization. We just have to write to our reps and have our voices heard. Illinois just voted it down again by 7 votes. I wonder how many letters it would have taken to get that to change?
agrv8ion 1 month ago
Politicians only think in terms of their corporate sponsors and fellow politicians, so when they say that legalizing marijuana is an extreme view they're absolutely right, because among their campaign donors and other politicians it's completely taboo. What the people want isn't even a concern for them - at least not above and beyond what it takes to get re-elected. And even if you elect someone else, they'll do the same thing, and last guy is still just as wealthy with just as many connections.

Make all drugs legal including medications. Screw Obamacare.
FreedomsReigning 1 month ago 2
As a Republic it is running as it was meant to be. A Republic is not necessarily a democracy. There is a reason why people can't bring referendums to the federal level. Heck not all states allow it either. The reason is that you and me have very little power to affect change. Congress is to make laws, not referendums from the people. Now the President can make laws too but it was meant to be like this :)
Ron Paul if you want real change. Otherwise keep watching Idol ;)

it not about drugs. it's about protectionism. Marijuana would replace a huge number of inferior meds. Our leaders would prefer people are forced to buy an inferior product from their trillionaire buddies than have access to cheap healing medicine that actually cures . True story.
Textynn 1 month ago 45
@Textynn IDK ive had cheaper meds do more for me than MJ, it works both ways, I luv MJ but its not this wonder drug everyone makes it out to be. It mildly helps with pain unless its highly potent (which leads to intoxication), It helps with various "tummy aches", encourges eating, and a few other things. Its not gonna help your blood pressure, save you from a heart attack, fight HIV, and the list goes on. Im simply saying dont knock Pharms so much they do help, MJ would be a nice addition though

@Twostones00 Why schedule II when pure synthetic THC is schedule III? The plant is safer than the synthetic.
bamboo4tameshigiri 1 month ago
@bamboo4tameshigiri I admit i don't know much about synthetic THC except it is bad. Complete legalization of pot would be ideal. Moving it to a schedule 2 drug would be a good first step and easier at the current moment. Another good idea would be to have a national referendum vote of the people intead of politicians controlling everything.
Twostones00 1 month ago
@Twostones00 No. Synthetic THC, which is more potent, more dangerous and LESS effective is schedule III. Cannabis is now schedule I. It is not a schedule II substance either. Schedule II is fetanyl and cocaine. Get real.
