I have a lower-back tattoo and like you had heard that they won't give you an epidural if the tattoo is in the way. Well it's not completely untrue! I had a son two years ago, and to get the epidural, they had to go higher up my back to avoid going through my tattoo. If they can't do that and have to go through the tattoo, they will use a larger gage needle to remove a tiny piece of skin and then give you the epidural though that.
We didn't really find out what the gender is because baby kept crossing and uncrossing its legs. The tech thinks its a girl but couldn't get a clear shot.
We're gonna try again in a week and a half, the doctor didn't get the proper view of baby's head cos again baby kept sticking it. In the corner :P
We already bought next yrs halloween costume for her too. LoL :) Glad I'm not the only one. We got a lady bug, also super puffy and adorable!!!! My shower is Saturday (in 2 days) :) It's all so exciting!!! You look great Erin :)

Oh, and another thing you might like to try for your water is the Crystal light Pure Fitness singles in Lemon lime. They are only 15 cals and also not sweetened with aspertame. I hate regular crystal light but these pure fitness ones are good! the grape is a little sour at first.. but the lemon lime tastes like lemonade MMM!

..when you get that sensation that you're not breathing, try to feel your breath with your hand so you show yourself that you are taking in air. Also try to not freak out when it happens because then you'll be afraid of it and it will become more scary. I suffer from migraines and I remember you mentioning that you do too. Just a note about that: I can no longer drink kool-aid, or artificially colored drinks. Just thought I'd share that.
@rawredemption - My migraines actually went away 1/2 way through my second trimester THANK gawd!! Good idea on the artificially colored drinks tho -- if they start coming back at all, I'll be sure to avoid those :)
Why is it that you aren't going full term and getting induced? Sorry to ask- I'm a new follower.. :) Oh, and as far as the panic thing, try crossing your arms above your head and stand up strait. (Like you stretch your arms before a workout) It gives your lungs more room to expand and should help with the panic. And by the way, you are so funny! With the pen thing, the strawberry hat on your doggie, and the silly sounds, you crack me up!

The doctor's need to monitor me and then stop my blood thinners when I show signs of being ready for labor (or before if they just want to control it perfectly) and then I would go into the hospital 24-48 hours later to have the baby. i doubt your tat would be a problem for the epidural but the blood thinners are. im guessing they're stopping them in time for your induction. if you went early etc and were still on them you wouldn't be alowed an epi or a spinal for pain relief and a c-section would need a general.
@lucytune80 - That's exactly why I'm being induced :) My doctors need to stop the thinners 24-48 hours before labor and then they'll induce me and put me back on the thinners after labor. I am classified as high risk and am working with my doc and my hematologist to make sure that everything goes as planned :D
@babyvlog oh good, thats what i thought. i'm on 20mg daily still postpartum, almost finished yay! i didn't stop mine for labour. my ob thought my low dose would bo out of my system in 12hrs. well it had been 29hrs since my last shot by the time i was given an episiotomy and he had loads of fun (not) giving me extra stiches to stop the bleeding. i was mostly numbed luckily but he was super frustrated, was kinda funny really. it wasn't bad though.

@MaRiSa22Bunny - I had a deep vein thrombosis due to birth control so when I got pregnant, it was like being on the super pill. When my hormone levels go up, I am more prone to getting clots. I knew I had it because my leg was swollen and cold... The blood clot was in my major artery connecting my leg to my upper body.

@brittanykay22109 - I am being induced because I am high risk for blood clots. The doctor's need to monitor me and then stop my blood thinners when I show signs of being ready for labor (or before if they just want to control it perfectly) and then I would go into the hospital 24-48 hours later to have the baby. Right after, they'll put me back on the thinners. :) Thanks SO much for the tip on the breathing thing!! :D

Damn. I didn't win. Have you already explained why you are being induced? I must have missed this lol. I loooooooooove the Halloween outfit. I'm trying to figure out what to dress my little man in this year. Last year, when he was about 6 months old, he was a dragon - so freakin' cute, I almost died from the cuteness. Oh, and this is a good question: are you planning on dressing yourself up for Halloween? I can't freakin' figure out what to do!!

i doubt your tat would be a problem for the epidural but the blood thinners are. im guessing they're stopping them in time for your induction. if you went early etc and were still on them you wouldn't be alowed an epi or a spinal for pain relief and a c-section would need a general.

@lucytune80 - That's exactly why I'm being induced :) My doctors need to stop the thinners 24-48 hours before labor and then they'll induce me and put me back on the thinners after labor. I am classified as high risk and am working with my doc and my hematologist to make sure that everything goes as planned :D

@babyvlog oh good, thats what i thought. i'm on 20mg daily still postpartum, almost finished yay! i didn't stop mine for labour. my ob thought my low dose would bo out of my system in 12hrs. well it had been 29hrs since my last shot by the time i was given an episiotomy and he had loads of fun (not) giving me extra stiches to stop the bleeding. i was mostly numbed luckily but he was super frustrated, was kinda funny really. it wasn't bad though.

Yay! Good job n the glucose test. I swear we're on the same track....today I was also thinking about looking at halloween costumes for the baby. Also, Love your dog. :) I have no advice on the lumbar tattoo thing because I don't have one or know anyone who has one and has gotten an epidural....but I have NO IDEA why they wouldn't be able to do an epidural if you have one. besides....don't they usually insert the needle higher up on your back? Not down low where the tattoo would be?

@MaRiSa22Bunny - I had a deep vein thrombosis due to birth control so when I got pregnant, it was like being on the super pill. When my hormone levels go up, I am more prone to getting clots. I knew I had it because my leg was swollen and cold... The blood clot was in my major artery connecting my leg to my upper body.

I have a tramp stamp. lol and i got an epidural and it was perfect :) The doctors told me it was fine.. and i love the way you say "belly!" haha.
