OH! I get it now! It's not really a triangle, but just a line that's been bent three times, and when you look at it from a certain angle, you brain percepts it as a triangle becuase of the illusion!

its an illusion of an illusion being real. You see it only looks like the impossible triangle because of the angle your looking at. The peice of metal on the left is farther away from you but you don't notice probably because the person who made it made the top of the peice of metal on the left larger therefore if its farther away it appears the same size that the on on the right is and your brain recognizes them as being right next to each other.
