Thank you so much for this idea, spent about 7 bucks for felt, glue and a metal ring i used as a guide instead of you used but its amazing! For someone who still uses their rock band 1 drum kit in an apartment, it works wonders.

Also i didnt use spray glue but a general fabric glue and it worked as well.

those are not rimshots. thats just hitting the rim. rimshot is when you hit the drum head and the rim at the same time on a real drum, and it makes a different, much louder noise.

Hey,

check your Pots first. You might not need a circel cutter. my smal pot caps fit perfect for the inner circel while the bigger ones fit nice with the big circel covvering up the rims. I think potsizes are pritty universal.. you just press cap down on the foam and get a nice line to cut alon with your cutter.

I only used one layer, sadly it dos not feel more silent, it´s just a deeper tonalety.

Here is a great way to not worry about the noise from the drums. Play it on a good home stereo and crank it with about 600w and trust me you dont hear them and I think it is the proper way to play er. Rock on fellow virtual rockers. lol

Hey guys... if you're like me and you wanted to copy this video but couldn't find any suitable foamy stuff, do what i did. I wrapped the tips of the actual sticks in that really thin foam shit that you get in packaging. You only need a little bit and it works just as well! Good luck, its well worth doing...

i dont think using any kind of foam rubber works for the drums man. the best thing to do is to not hit the drums like if you were really playing in a concert or a band. doesn't matter if the game is called ROCK BAND. hitting the drums softly works try it

Update.... when applying color foam be sure to apply extra bond at the center of the foam where most of the hits register. I had to reconnect but seems to be working fine now.

the foam quiets the stick hitting the foam, the felt quiets the hit onto the drum, still giving it enough force to register. basically the felt makes it so u don't have to hit it as hard.
