I have this album and I must say that it was a good gesture on their part to pay tribute to Sam Cooke. My favorite song from this album is Having A Party. Even though Motown and SAR Records started about the same time, this album shows the respect the two labels had for each other. Sam Cooke had a big influence on the Motown sound. Just listen to Smokey Robinson or David Ruffin. You can really hear Sam's influence on My Girl by The Temptations. And Smokey readily admits Sam's influence on him.

For an album in 1965 they released as a tribute to him because he was shot just the year before. You know I'm surprised Diana Ross never did and album or a track dedicated to Florence, she could have had a hit because the press Flo's death racked up would easily propel a single in dedication to her from a top female vocalist and former supreme like flo herself would get a decent placing on the charts
