That's why this song works - it agrees with the ideas behind 1984. But it is not based on it: a future totalitarian state would not look like the one described by Orwell. The z's from both sides cancel and we have y=0; this is a contradiction of the definition of y=1. All this results from the fact that z=y=1 (if we replace y by z in the first step we have z^2 = z^2 which is true but a redundant statement). Also, you can't continue your proof after obtaining the result 2=1 (because if 2=3 then 2+2 could be equal to 5 or 6).
