One thing is a bit not-the-way-it-seems-to-be-at-first-look and it's the credit rating question at 3:41.
In my opinion (!), 'saving of any variety' DOES affect your credit rating, as providers DO perform credit checks when you open savings accounts with them, which inevitably affects your rating. And we all know why - the more the searches, the lower the score.
