ArmA II PvP Multiplayer gameplay on DAO.nu

I stopped playing the dao server since they installed Valhalla, imo the most awfull changes to the game ever made.

RPG's that can't be shot, driving tanks blind, bullits that hardly do more damage than nails etc...

Now this is a good multiplayer game going on. Reminds me of the Original Ghost Recon 2001.

@trdigital Oh, I remember only playing some single player missions of that. But as far as military combat simulators go, you don't need to look further than ArmA II - it's the compete package of infantry and vehicular combat. And ArmA III is supposed to come out in summer 2012.

The U.S now has a server running VALHALLA missions. Its the ARMALIVE server. Both DAO and ARMALIVE servers are now using BSTATS as well. You can check your stats after playign at armalive.com

ACE is great, yes, but in MP the servers decide which addons can be used and which cannot. I'd have to play on a PvP server running ACE and there aren't many of those around.

@saltpeterjunky go to closed servers with groups like tactical gamer (more vs coop/ai) or united operations (more pvp). i actually dont like playing on open servers with all those rambos. especially in ace its a pain in the ass when not having a team to rely on.

Mm, I'm not a moder myself, but the toolkit is called the armoury, I think and is accessable through the ingame menu.

Look on the official ArmA II YouTube channel for some introduction videos on how to make missions etc

you should listen more to sounds dude, the machine gunner in front of you was so obvious for a too long time (wooden balkony) and at the end you were kind of ignoring that you are under fire for a long time :O

nice shooting, you are quite good with this weapon :)

why do you like the xm8 that much?

i cant really hit with it, i prefer m4a3 acog gl or m16a4 acog gl

@MisantrophSK Hehe, I remember hearing the MG guy for a while, but I couldn't quite make out where he was, so I was very cautious. I took a bit too long and he managed to shoot that friendly at the stone wall, so you're right on that one.

My favourite weapon probably i the G36, or the light (M240?) MG with ACOG scope. I'm rubbish with the mounted granade launchers.

the light is the m249 saw, m240 is medium heavy mg.

mounted grenadelaunchers are awesome and extremely useful. far more precise than handgrenades which makes it possible to hit behind walls or even inside buildings through windows and doors. or blasting the balcony.

sometimes even good for picking off enemies who are reloading behind cover because few of them move far away from their last firing position. killed a mate who did exactly that.

but vanilla A2 launcher suck, ace ftw

Do you know any berzerk servers for CO because when I search for them there aren't any.

In multiplayer in the filter i put 'berzerk'..but I can't find it.

@jfl125 That is Combined Operations (original ArmA II + Operation Arrowhead). The map played is Takistan - that of Op. Arrowhead.

@jfl125 No problem. I recommend getting the Combined Ops. pack right from Steam - probably the easyest way. ArmA II is about as much fan as you can have in a military simulation sandbox - both on-line and off.

@saltpeterjunky Ya, does quite a bit of people play it online. o and how high do you thing the graphics card for the computer have to be if i want to play it on the lowest settings. Cause i already know i wont be able to play it on high or probably even normal graphics

@jfl125 Well now I have Radeon 5870 and run on max, but before this card I had a Nvidia 9800GTX+ and could run on ~medium/high. Oh, and I had a Nvidai 8600 GT before that, but I'm not sure if ArmA was out yet...

@RantingTalk This ir called "HOLD", I believe. But it's modified. It essentially works like the Battlefield games - you fight for numerous points on the map, which give your team points. The team with the most points as the time runs out wins.

You'd undertand it better if you just tried it yourself, of course. The link to the servers page is at the end of the video

Thanks! I have a Phenom I (Agena) 9850 BE running at stock speed (2,5 GHz), 4 GB RAM and a Radeon HD 5870. In your case, the vid. card is obviously the weak point - my CPU is very similar to yours, performance-wise.

Before the Radeon, I had a Gforce 9800 GTX+, and it could ALMOST run it at max settings (city areas caused lagg). I asume a Radeon 5770 or the Nvidia eqivalent should do for the game.

wow very nice, can you give me your system specs? My Intel Q6600 2.4ghz and nVidia 9600GT just aren't up to the task to run those graphics so smoothly.
