    from Paul at ChineseBay

    简体 = simplified Chinese

    繁體 = Traditional Chinese

    粤拼 = Jyutping (Cantonese spelling, romanization system for Cantonese)

  • This so funny...thanks for sharing.

  • does Mandarine have the same mostly grammar with Cantonese? only different pronunciation? I can speak Mandarine only and i don't know whether same grammar or not

  • Cantonese and Mandarine are almost the same grammar because we use the same writing system

    we use same words, but different pronunciations

  • No, i think there is the difference between Cantonese and Mandarin. for example : "how long have you been to China,"mandarin would say : 你来中国多久了? but Cantonese would say : 你黎中国几耐? very much different. I have been skeaking Mandarine 5 years ago and now started learning Cantonese.

  • but what i want to say is

    we also can say "你來中國多久了?" in Cantonese as well,

    but we can't say "你黎左中國幾耐?" in Mandarin.

    Cantonese is not just a spoken language.

    Cantonese can be a written language as well

    we can't write "黎左"or"幾耐" in a formal document.

    we write "來了" or "多久" in a formal document.

  • @lethanhson1985 In reading and writing Chinese text, we use the same grammar. In this case the pronounciations of each word/character is different

    between Cantonese and Mandarin.

    Whereas in Cantonese dialect, we speak differently from what we write. The spoken grammar is different from what we use in written text. There are many Cantonese words that don't exist in writing. We only use them in speaking.

  • LOL this guy is so awesome.

  • This guy is awesome! Ho Ho Ho!

  • This funny guy is awesome!

  • Lol, i searched for something like this because I wanted to see how people learn cantonese. As a cantonese speaker I have to say that he mispronounces some of the words such as "door chair". I think it should be "do ze"

  • I'm not a native Cantonese speaker, but I am trying to learn it. This video seems fairly old, so maybe the pronunciation has changed since then. Everyone keeps warning me to learn cantonese from younger speakers since pronunciation is constantly evolving.

  • I believe he is pronouncing it as "do je"

    He is leaving out the r's in the words, I think he was just using "door chair" as a reference point, not that the words should actually be pronounced the same way.

  • cantonese is hard to learn.

    But Fun to speak & once you

    learn some phrases. this guy is

    a Good teacher.

  • this is funny but so easy is this the only video he made

  • It's really hard to say if it's fun to learn hard-to-say things. I suppose if you really have to learn something that's hard to say, you just have to try a little harder if you want to say it.

  • How fun is it when you have to learn hard to say things
