@happythunder3 So did I, and I know I'm not PMSing right now. I'm hoping this gets re-released in theaters like TLK and Beauty and the Beast (which is my favorite Disney movie. I HAD to see the 3D version and it was pretty awesome).
i have always always loved the little mermaid. despite the fact that i'm a nineteen year old male i have no shame in admitting that this is my favorite disney movie.
okay that's his oppinion... If you are gay, you are gay but this hasnt's connection eith disney...?...Because i am a teenager lover disney but not only... Be sure... I am not gay... I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND and I just want to wark on disney studios... Maybe is a little too mach for 15 not because you are "old"because you are interested in other thinks ;) but, forget to believe that if you love disney you are gay...Do you know how many men... real men work in there... Work in their dream?!
The Little Mermaid is actually the first movie I've ever seen before in my life and it use to be my favorite movie ever and I could never get enough of it! But now I'm 15 years old in High School now so I had to let go it because I'm too old for it now.
@sMCCarthyTV1 Disney is not just an academy of cartoons for 5 years old... Disney is the biggest part of human's art... Art it's not only important but it it nessesery for the creatures named people! You are never old for art! You are never too old for Disney... a l e x a l a z
@sMCCarthyTV1 u are never too old im 18 going on 19 and im still in love with disney movies trust me once u get older ur guna wish u were younger =( and this movies r guna be ur escape from ur life now
Yes, I read the story before. My question was how did Disney mess the movie up, not alter the ending. Besides that, even the original ending of Cinderella was a little light as far as most classic fairy tales go, don't you think? :o
the real version of the little mermaid is so sad...check it out if you have no idea what the real little mermaid version is...this one has a happy ending and the real version has a sad ending
You know what I hate? When guys who still enjoy movies like this are told that they are gay? I mean WTF? What a sad childhood those people must have had
When they made this trailer they really had no idea how true that would turn out to be. Mermaid was a game changer because for the first time in a long, LONG time, the Disney studio found itself being thought of as culturally relevant. That hadn't been true for decades, especially not after Walt bit the big one and his studio entered a long period of floundering (no pun intended!). This film brought them crashing out of the woods at last.
I hope I am not the only one here tearing up at the beginning...my favorite Disney movie, favorite Disney Princess movie, and maybe even my favorite all-time movie as well. I cried the first time I saw it...hehe. :)
AHHH, can you just IMAGINE sitting in theatres in 1989 and seeing this one and thinking "i wanna see that" but having NO idea how much of a classic it would be????? mind blowing. i'm showing this to my kids, though by that time it will be like 40 years old... WHO CARES :):) always be one of my favorites<3
@bookworm7894 I don't have to imagine. I was one of the lucky ones in the theatre back in 1989. I fell in love with it immediately. It's been my favorite Disney movie ever since. :)
I was two when I first saw this trailer, before the movie started (Bambi) and according to my mom I wouldn't sit still. This preview came on and I've been hooked ever since!
God, listen to how horrible VHS sounds compared to DVD and Blu-Ray! But, at the same time, it adds a nostalgic feeling to it all. Disney was so good in those days....
Little Mermaid was a HUGE EVENT for Disney 20 yrs ago in 1989. The movies made after Sleeping Beauty in 59 - up to the 1980's hadnt really been that successful. Mermaid picked up where Sleeping Beauty left off - in the realm of fairy tale which made a comeback after 30 years....i remember how big a deal it was ..i was 9 yrs old...
Very well said. I was 5 years old when The Little Mermaid came out IN 1989 and now 20 years later, I go and see THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG which I think picks up where THE LION KING left off.
The Lion King was the last real great Disney Classic even though personally I think Pocahontas should be in there too. The other Disney films that came out after were not successful and THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG in my opinion helped bring in Disney's comeback. TPATF was a fantastic film and it's already a Disney classic for sure.
u can't compare the princess and the frog to the LION KING!!! that was such a classic!! but yeah the princess and the frog did have a little comback for disney.
LOL i just wanna say i may come off as a nerd but i have watched this movie 5 times in the past 4 days, have it on VHS and DVD lol feel like a kid again
My most favorite movie of all time!!!! I LOVE The Little Mermaid!!!! Ariel is my most favorite Disney Princess and Eric is my favorite Disney Prince!!!! This is such a lovely movie *sigh* It's so romantic....oh, i wish I could be part of that world
The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie eventhough I'm a boy! It came out a year befor I was born. I was born in 1990. I wish they would rerelease it in theatres! I'd like to see it on The Big Screen! I think my Aunt Pat looks like Ursula!
@Abranime18 no matter what happens, dont feel nostalgic, this excellent movie actually isnt old because this is just the beginning of a new era of the modern animation
AWWWWWWWWW why am i so old now
