The amount of time it's taken and still no medical or emergency crews to deal with several drivers obviously injured and lying on the track......bit of a disgrace really considering the Germans are supposed to be so organised................

I'm not involved with kart racing (though I'd love to be) but why don't they have sort of a rollbar just behind the drivers head?

Because it would not be karting, plus it would affect the handling of a kart drammactically.

A whole roll cage would but just a hoop? you think? I think that to change the philosophy from "get/thrown clear" to "safer onboard" would require a whole series of structural additions that would be too heavy.

but think about it: in younger classes there is the duty of having such a rollbar! it's just a small one which is fixed at the seat. and what is more important? safety ore the look - like you said "...making them look stupid" just a small rollbar...that makes it still a kart!

mattisherwood is right if your world about rooling out safety and roll cages get a cage kart the also have seat belts but i race sprint with a yamaha jr can motor and i race nationals

I kart, but this is dangerous. These karts are capable of speeds that rival sport bikes in smaller classes only if you wreck you can't get away from the kart. You'd just go along for the ride.

since when do karts have harnessing/seatbelts? It's quite easy to fall out of a kart, as you say, you'd want to if it rolled....

You don't know what you're talking about. The seats in a kart are very tight. If you're over 160lbs and over 5'6'' it is going to be a tight fit. I am 5'9 210lbs (12% bodyfat)and it is always a tight fit for me. Yeah, a short skinny little kid would get thrown out, but these guys are professional kart racers; grown men.

ha! 'dont know what Im taling about'...little do you know. You do realise that there are several different sizes, and if you have the money (like I did), you get them custom molded?? If you can get in, you can fall out. Most rollovers result in the driver being ejected. Shows how much you know, huh. But I dont want to get in a pissing contest with ya, mate. how do you work that out when he was tagged from behind and the officials enquiry ruled it as an accident due to a missed gear?

i was there and i saw him move accross to defend pole, Thats how he got tagged... he should of had his licence taken fro him.

a move which every one makes, unfortunately a gear was missed, that however does not make it his fault, and there was also a secondary incident down the field which led to the major part of the accident. Several people close to me were in the accident and my kart was one of the ones completey written off, so i no the officials view on it, so he can't be singled out in this manner for blame.

naja über die erfahrung der fahrer kann ich nichts sagen...ich fands aber auch zweifelhaft mit fahrzeugen mit so kurzem radstand und nicht mehr als nem heckflügel bei so hohen geschwindigkeiten ohne HANS und ohne knautschzone in sonem riesigen feld zu starten ...andererseits denke ich, dass solche sachen immer passieren können und es scheint ja auch der erste unfall dieser dimension gewesen zu sein...muss halt jeder fahrer selber wissen, was er riskieren möchte

Also ich muss mal sagen der Unfall war echt zu heftig. bin dann auch abgehauen nach dem Crash. Aber ich fand/find die Serie auch total bescheuert. Wie kann man sich als unerfahrener Rennfahrer bitte in ein Kart ohne jegliche Knautschzone oder andere Sicherheitsvorkehrungen setzen und mit 230 Spitze über ne Rennstrecke preschen. Das sowas überhaupt auf deutschen Rennstrecken zugelassen wurde is absolut unverständlich. Aber Engländer waren schon immer anders ...

Bevor man derartiges falsches behauptet,sollte man sich infomieren:Es handelt sich um eine Europameisterschaft,die man nur mit einer hohen Lizenzstufe fahren darf und diese bekommt man nicht bei e-bay.Die Fahrer haben alle teilweise jahrzehntelange Erfahrung und gehören zu den besten der Welt.Ein derartiger Unfall kann in jeder Rennserie passieren

Ja ich sahs auch genau auf höhe der Startlinie von da aus war es wirklich häftig... und ich kann die beruhigen die früher gegangensind ich bin geblieben und wir haben auch nicht mehr mitbekommen, was nun mit den fahrern war... ich hab mir sorgen gemacht um den kerl forne rechts... der wahr nach meiner meinung unmächtig und ist ja auch gleich umgekippt als er aus dem Kart stieg... Naja ich wünsche den Fahrern alles gute....

Wir saßen an der Startlinie. Vor dort sah es wirklich furchtbar aus. Wir sind dann auch gegangen. Ein Glück, dass nicht noch mehr passiert ist. Ich hoffe mein Sohn fährt nie so ein Ding.

Also ich fand den Unfall schrecklich!

Muss allerdings sagen das mir diese Rennklasse an sich sehr gefällt ,respekt den Fahren dieser Karts!

Machte echt Spaß die beiden Rennen zu zusehen wäre der Unfall nicht gewesen!

Hoffe das ihr nächstes Jahr wieder im Rahmenprogram der DTM seid.

Find´s traurig, dass es immernoch Leute gibt, die so einen Unfall als "Mega-Event" ansehen und sich nen Keks freuen!

Stand auf der anderen Seite in der Boxengasse und wusste nicht mehr wo mir der Kopf stand, weil zwei von unseren Jungs mitgefahren sind. Zum Glück ist nichts passiert, aber mein Herz hörte erstmal auf zu schlagen!

Meinen 5nformationen nach gabs ein zertrümmertes Becken, Wirbelbrüche und einige gebrochene Füsse und Sprunggelenke. Die Jungs liegen jetzt im Krankenhaus.

Ich habe das auch gesehen, stand im Block G und hab viele Bilder gemacht von dem Unfall, schlimmer Crash, noch schlimmer das irgendwelche sensationsgeilen typen jubeln wenn sowas passiert, man hat doch shcon vom sehen her ahnen können das es da verletzte gibt, unverständlich sowas.
