  • Shirley.....AREOLA here, just checking on you girl

  • jesus help me! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes1

  • I've met Miss Shirley Q. Liquor in New Orleans and she is amazing and a wonderful person, can't wait to see you at the PUB in NEW ORLEANS again!!!!

  • How far we have come ..

  • im not a racist at all. but most black people i have met are spoiled and childish. grow up its just a video.

  • @shawtyjuz4u right on.

I am a Caucasian, not an American Caucasian.....and happy about it.

  • @hatelibs1

I like how ya'll honkies pattin' yourselves on the back. Good loard.

  • lol... free cheese online!

  • At 0.53, does she say she's high on gyne lotrimin?

  • That is her, I have a CD with this on it.

  • ding ding ding, here comes the mens.

  • That was fuckin' hilare!

  • It's the people who complain about racism who are really racists, lets be real hear and stop pretending your not racist I agree it's natural for the human to feel inferior to groups of people based on color, religion, ethnicity due to the fact they all think they're this body!!! All these designation mean nothing when your dead, the soul keeps moving it's not white or black. So someone who doesn't think there this body can give a hoots ass about color or racism. They know there not the body

  • this dont even sound like shirley

  • People need to lighten up a little bit. I agree with the person who wrote that black comedians can make fun of themselves, but white people can't. When Bill Cosby stood up and told blacks to stop acting this way, they got mad at him. I am currently living in Savannah and I am appalled at the way black mothers talk to their children. Even school teachers talk this way to their students. Until they lift themselves up from this type of language, I will laugh about it.

  • Agreed! It's a joke! It's meant for entertainment purposes. What about the wayans brothers in white chicks?!? No one got all up and arms about that because they were "mocking" hoity toity white women...BECAUSE IT WAS FUNNY!!

  • @kyboi1980 nah, white chicks wasn't funny. i agree with your statements other than that lol

  • i love the outfit, she seems to have a different outrageous outfit on every video!

  • This one sounds different from most of the other SQL videos. It's like someone else is doing the voice.

  • The racist thing is rediculous!

If it was Eddie Murphy playing an overweight silly old black lady it would be ok,right?

Drag Queens have been making fun of all kinds of women for an eternity .

Women make fun of women all the time!

As a female person ,I know I do.

This is comedy and comedy usually involves making fun of someone's archetypal silliness.

Shirley has nailed it on the head .

  • i agree, but the person playing Shirley is a man.

  • Of course she's a man.

  • This video is a trip!!! I love shirley!! But Im concerned, because every shirley q video has 90238490843-12843 comments concerning racism! not even about the video! Its sad that that subject is still so prevalent! youd think everyone would just get over it by now? we all have to live next door to eachother in this day and age so its due time we just peacefully resolve this matter thats dreadfully dragged on for too many years. There's more important things to be concerned about

    Peace peoples!

  • People should speak out when they see stupidity. We all do not live next door to each other. There's something called residential racism. This country is highly segregated by race, ethnicity, and income. Because YOU do not feel the need to be concerned with teh issue, that does not mean that it isn't important.

  • Well i dont know what backwoods neighboor hood you live in, but I live in california and even in texas its not all doom and gloom like your portraying it to be, I dont think its as bad as u say it is and if it is then move! plus keeping that attitude isnt gonna make the situation any better..

  • Wahhh Wahhh. Racism is natural, get over it. It existed before, exists now, and will always exist. Stop crying over some silly puppet video and grow up.

  • Tell your mom I axe her how she durrin!

  • "Free cheese online" LMAO

  • They can tell whether or nor your ignant! Haha!

  • Oops. I meant not*

  • Hilarious and clever. They can gravitate on it...

  • How you durrin?!!

  • whatever it's only making fun of a stereotype & it's comedy they take shots at everyone. the guy that does shirley q also makes fun of white folks.

  • Q 94.5 rocks

  • It MLK Day I want to be African American like Shirley.

  • She's a GENIUS!!!

  • Shirley is AMAZING! Keep your negative opinion to yourself.

  • If you dont have any sense og humor, then leave! Ignunt asses...shirley is hilarious!

  • Im black and I love shirley Q liqour, I dont find it racist it just pokes fun at a stereotype. We stereotype white people all the time. I would say with all comedians white, black, hispanic, asian all of them make fun of stereotypes. I think people need to lighten up.

  • ITS A DRAAAAAG SHOW jeez people ahha

  • I do NOT and have NEVER presumed to speak for EVERY African American. I have always stated that MANY African Americans find Shirley Q. Liquor offensive. This is mainly because of the history of the minstrel show & it's use in degrading African Americans throughout American History. Also, just as you have the right to state your adoration, I have the right to express my disdain.

  • not funny

  • Shirley Q. cracks me up. I keep hoping to hear more of the local terms like sun blizer, kitchen zink, pasketti & such. Obviously this comedian has spent some time in Louisiana. :) Have a coupla 40's and tell ya momma I axed how she durrin.

  • yesssssss, I LOVE SHIRLEY Q AND IM A NIGGRA

  • Greetings Shirley Fans! It appears that Shirley has some college students following in her footsteps in portraying negative racial stereotypes of African Americans. Except that they

  • are posting them on Facebook, before quickly taking them off of their FaceBook pages. The articles on the smokinggun website illuminate an undercurrent of racism that is very prevalent in the replies to my posts from Shirley fans. I suppose because it is no longer politically correct to be an overt racist, covert racism is the "modèle du jour". There are 4

  • separate articles reported on smokinggun of students either dressing up in black face or portraying African Americans in a negative light. I chose this article because the students dressed in black face and donned stereotypical attire for a party they entitled "Living the Dream" a day before Martin L. King's holiday.

  • From thesmokinggun website] JANUARY 30--Along with questionable racially-themed college parties in TX & CT, students at Clemson University in South Carolina dressed in black face for a party they dubbed "Living the Dream" and which came a day before the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Photos from the off-campus bash were posted on Facebook

  • and then yanked when fellow students protested. Four of the pictures can be found on the following pages. Attendees at the January 14 party drank from 40-ounce bottles of malt liquor, which were duct-taped to their hands. Additionally, some female party goers stuffed their pants to make their backsides look larger, while other students wore gold teeth, or

  • grills. In an e-mail sent today to students, Clemson President James Barker said that he was "appalled, angered, and disappointed" upon learning of the party, which he said "appeared to mock and disparage African-Americans." He added that a school investigation has been launched to determine whether university policies were violated.

  • Lordy Lordy! You needs to git yoself a hobby gurrl. And what's urbaandiultra about? sounds like a prescription drug. Gits you a job or somethin. shoo.

  • Thank you for your reply and2rew! I am an entrepreneur and it's hard to find good help these days so I was wondering if you would be able to assist me in responding to the overtly hostile & racist responses I receive from Shirley fans? I would be forever indebted to you if you could assist me. Thanks again!

  • you best sends me an application.

  • agin laffin my axe off.

  • CORRECTION: It would have been easier for your father to rise up from poverty to obtain his PhD 50 years ago than it would have been for an African American because LAWS AND SOCIETY WERE SET UP AGAINST THE PROGRESS OF AFRICAN AMERICANS(Not should have been deleted from this phrase. My apologies).

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the responses! Wow...I am becoming a mini internet star amongst Shirley fans! PLEASE keep posting your comments!!! I was not using Microsoft Word as "Rev" suggested...but that is a wonderful idea (I do however proof everything I write...just a habit from graduate school I guess)...thanks for the advice "Rev"! I guess I have to repeat

  • left a voice mail to get a someone to come into my office to help me this week with the overwhelmingly hostile and racist responses I have received. So please forgive me if I have not been keeping up with my duties in replying to you all. Help is on the way!!! And I will be able to respond as to the reasons many African Americans are offended by Shirley Q. Liquor's portrayal of poor African American people with even more vigor!

  • Cher rikijuntzu, thank you taking the time to read and reply to my posts! Are you from the Rikijuntzu's of the textile empire? I'm quite friendly with them and lunch often with the family at Tavern on the Green on Sundays. I am not attempting to "constrict" your 1st amendment rights as many of the hostile "Shirley" fans wish to do to me. "Riki" thank you for sharing

  • your story regarding how your father rose up from poverty to attain his PhD. (only the P & H are capitalized fyi) You bring up a VERY important point that I would like to address...again this might take a little longer than even the prior post, but I am happy to enlighten you to my opinions and research! Prior to the civil rights movement, African Americans were overwhelmingly denied equal access AND pay in comparison to Caucasian persons in the

  • United States. Now, I am not aware of your families ethnic background, but it is only recent history that laws were passed (40 or so years) that allowed African Americans equal access to public universities, use of the same public restrooms as Caucasian people, the ability to eat in the same restaurants and shop in the same stores! Think about that point...LESS THAN 50 YEARS AGO, African American people were denied access to many

  • "freedoms" that "white" people take for granted. I am going to assume by your hostility towards my opinions that your ethnic background is Caucasian. It should be noted that there are rich and poor in all ethnic groups, however Caucasians have enjoyed unlimited access to the "American Dream" in the United States throughout the history of our nation. It would have been easier for your father to rise up from poverty to obtain his PhD 50 years ago

  • than it would have been for an African American because LAWS AND SOCIETY WERE NOT SET UP AGAINST THE PROGRESS OF AFRICAN AMERICANS. Please read that point again. I am NOT putting down black people who live in poverty...I am simply giving you the historical implications regarding the role that racism played in the poverty that many poor southern African Americans live in. The parents of many Generation X African

  • Americans went to segregated schools as children, so we are talking about recent history. If you think that 50 to 60 years is going to erase centuries of inequality then you are sadly mistaken. It should be noted that there are many affluent African Americans today, and the primary impetus for their prosperity was the passing of Civil Rights laws that allowed them

  • greater access to capital. Do you even realize that before laws were passed that African Americans could not simply stroll in a bank to get a home or auto loan or go to Wall Street to buy or sell a security? There are still towns in this nation called "Sunset Towns" (there is a wonderful book on the topic, please google the term) that still do not allow African Americans to live within their city limits. African Americans were often told "Get out or die!".

  • I am NOT making excuses for anyone...I am simply stating that it would have been easier for your father to progress to prosperity than it would have been for an African American (due to the racist laws and societal views during and prior to the 20th century). There is a verse that states "The poor will always be among us.", however if those poor were/are Caucasian Americans, then they have a better chance of making it out of poverty than African

  • Americans do (to repeat: due to the racist laws and societal views during and prior to the 20th century)! I shall give you an analogy as well to illuminate my point: Circus' often put a small chain around the legs of baby elephants to keep them from running around. The baby elephant tries and tries to escape from the chain, but the chains are too strong for him.

  • Eventually time goes by and the elephant stops trying because the chains have always prevented him from escaping. Now time has gone by and the elephant is an adult. And guess what??? The circus leaves the same chains on the elephant that he had when he was a baby...and you want to know why??? It is because although the elephant is strong enough

  • to easily break the chains, he does not believe that he can, due to his prior attempts to "break the chains" during his youth. So you see, there is a whole other psychological aspect to poverty as well that you would do well to research before stating that I am making excuses for poor African Americans. I am a successful African American in terms of the "American Dream" standard so it is not "carte blanche" for you to say that all African

  • Americans have not worked hard to obtain their financial objectives. Your statements have underlying racist undercurrents that I am beginning to see more and more within the posts of Shirley fans....PLEASE KEEP REPLYING TO MY POSTS SO THAT YOUR RACISTS VIEWS ARE ILLUMINATED TO THE WORLD! Thank you for replying to my posts I am indebted as always!

  • Dearest CurtisLowe77, you laugh because you have not been stereotyped and discriminated on the basis of your race your entire life...THANK YOU for sharing your racist views and my only hope is that you continue to do so...I don't know how I could ever repay your contributions to my objectives!

  • Cher Patronricardo, salut encore! I am always delighted when I receive one of your racist/hostile rants to my opinions! Au contraire mon ami!!! I am not the one who is racist. It

  • should be noted that it is very difficult for African Americans to be racist because racism is something that was invented by Caucasian persons to discriminate against African Americans. African Americans can however be prejudiced, but I must confess that while I

  • am personally not a prejudiced person (well that is a lie because I must admit that I hate it when people wear white after labor day!), I personally can see why many African Americans would not be very fond of Caucasian persons after centuries of discrimination. However, I should point out an important CAVEAT! And that is that I personally believe that

  • discrimination based on race is wrong, whether it is a "black" person discriminating against "white" people or vice versa! I have a question for you "Patron"...why must you continue to hostile words against my opinions when I have continued to show respect to your postings and views? Your comments are beginning to show that you have so much class....AND ALL OF IT LOW!

  • Thank you Shirley fans for replying to my posts! I am considering publishing them in short story form and would be happy to send all of you who replied to me a free copy! As always, I look forward to your responses! Merci beaucoup mes amis!!!

  • Salutashums Shirley fans, I is obuhwhelmed wit de joya for alls de reponsibles to my whippin' posts. I does enjoys it when I gets respondeseses dat rezote to racisms an stereotropical retrick in responsibles to one's opinin on de subjectimal matta!

  • Salut! Shirley fans! I must admit that I feel somewhat like a celebrity from all of the negative and racist comments I am receiving from people who want African Americans to view Shirley Q. Liquor's character as entertainment.

  • Unfortunately, due to the racist history of America, many African Americans wiIl never view Shirley as humorous...I have already addressed RevAlChitlin in another post. He is blatantly a racist and I love his responses because it further proves one of my objectives to "out" closet racists. I only hope that the Rev is not gay AND racist, because that would be an offense to all of the decent gay people in the world!

  • My sincerest hope for Rev is that he repents for his hatred of others, because it is a serious offense to the Almighty. I am sure that if one had a view of "Hell", it would be filled with the many racists that were on this earth before the "Rev" came along. I'm going to keep praying for you Rev! Hatred is a negative stressor and is not good for the body and in many obvious cases, the mind!

  • Now whys dons you go look in de mirro an say dat!

  • Mon ami, brentlizlandin! Ca va? The point of my posts is to illuminate the reason why many African Americans find Shirley Q. Liquor's character demeaning and offensive. As I have mentioned numerous times before,

  • it is because of the racist history behind "white" persons performing in "black" face degrading slaves brought to America. That is the difference between Dave Chappell's performances...it's all about the RACIST HISTORICAL aspect to the degradation and humiliation suffered by many poor southern African Americans.

  • I have travelled to the south extensively and it should be noted that most African Americans have some connection to the south because our ancestors were brought there for a purpose called slavery! I am also quite familiar to the plight of many African Americans living in poverty in the south as is most of America (did you view the television coverage of the impact of Hurricane Katrina to the residents of the 3rd Ward???).

  • I live in one of the greatest cities in our country and I see homeless "white" people on the streets of our city everyday. Many of them are uneducated and are alcoholics as well. But instead of putting on "white" makeup and creating a character that demeans their plight and makes fun of their poverty and circumstances, I choose to go into restaurants and purchase food for them to eat.

  • I have a feeling that the Almighty has big plans for you brentlizlandin! Get rid of your persona "Dasheki" and make more efforts to alleviate the sufferings of others instead of enjoying stereotypes of others less fortunate than yourself. I'm going to pray for you and your enlightenment as well. Thank you for sharing your views and PLEASE continue to reply to my posts!

  • If'n i'se don't stops dancing and don't lets you blo me any mo in the wind because I refuse to come.

  • Urbaandiultra...Do you not enjoy Dave Chappell's White character "Peter?" He is clearly making fun of white people but we laugh at it, not go on rants on YOUTUBE. If you are not from the south, maybe you should come see our black people, i see Shirley Q everyday!!! And i love it, my alter ego is Dasheki

  • Thank you for your comment rkmfl! And no, I am not lonely and since it is the "Comments & Responses" section, I have every right (as you do as well) to post my opinions here. And since you took the time to reply to my post, I will take the time to respond to yours (thank you for the motivation).

  • I personally do not "enjoy the jokes" as you stated, especially when "the jokes" are directed at ANY race. I ended a long-term friendship with a "white" friend because he enjoyed "joking" in a negative manner about Jewish people, Asian people and Hispanic people. I have personally been spit on in the face because I am African American, been the subject of demeaning language because I am African American and I have been discriminated against on more occasions than I care to remember.

  • So if I (and millions of other African Americans are offended by Shirley Q. Liquor and her negative stereotypical character, then you will just have to understand that when one is discriminated against their whole lives, a "white" man in "black" face is simply not amusing or a "joke" whatsoever. By the way, I particularly find your statement that "there is NOT 1 word in the English dictionary that's bad" (I chose not to correct your grammatical errors so as not to offend you).

  • However, words do have context and connotative as well as denotative meanings (please refer to websterdotcom if you need to find out the meanings to those words), there would be little use for words if not for their context and underlying and direct meanings...but I digress and while I find this statement inaccurate (yet amusing), it is not really the point of my posts. My comments have consistently focused on the underlying racist history behind "white" people putting on "black" faces AND

  • Now listen heah my heavenly honey! Der aint no need gwine on dis heah whippin post and tokin bout bein mad at no body fo makin us culud folks laugh. If'n you aint been from de sowf, whats wud you knows bouts dat. Nuttin! So's you best keep yo faggoty white shoes on and stays outs our suthun flava boy! De souf is gwine do it one mo 'gin.

  • Get a sense of humor. Shirley is FUN!

  • When a person has been discriminated and stereotyped on the basis of their race their whole life, it is difficult to find this minstrel show "humorous". Why don't you take a moment to reflect on why many African Americans might deem it insensitive & racist. Thanks for your reply!

  • Are you the spokes(wo)man for black America?

  • I am white, and I think the people to watch out for are the ones who need to identify with a group to feel safe. like the only thing they have to brag about is their religion or skin color or political party. Big deal, the only thing I can't change is my skin color... oh, maybe I can. i will work on that.

  • portraying negative stereotypes of African American people and I shall continue to maintain that focus because Shirley Q. Liquor is a "white" man putting on a black face and portraying negative stereotypes of African Americans. I did note in an earlier posting that throughout American history, one of the methods used to perpetuate a society entrenched in racism and inequality was to stereotype

  • African Americans and essentially "de-humanize" them through the use of media. Because most of the commentators on my postings obviously need a history lesson, I shall provide a brief, albeit succinct lesson regarding the history of minstrel shows in America. Historically, African Americans were portrayed in minstrel shows (beginning during the early 1800's) in which "white" people put burnt cork on their faces and skin to make them black and then performed skits about African American slaves.

  • These skits were overtly racist and depicted slaves as lazy (even though they were forced to work all day, every day), stupid (even though they were not allowed to learn to read or go to school) and also compared African Americans to animals. The racism and stereotypes portrayed in minstrel shows de-humanized African Americans and in the case of American history, the de-humanization of African Americans was the impetus to the establishment of slavery, "lynchings" and "Jim Crow" laws

  • (Please "google" these terms if you are not familiar with them), etc. African Americans are offended by Shirley Q. Liquor because a "white" man in black face portraying negative stereotypes of African Americans is a painful reminder of the racist history of minstrel shows and a reminder of the racism that we continue to face today. Whether Shirley Q. Liquor is performed for comedic purposes or not, it will always be viewed as racist in the eyes of many African Americans.

  • It still amazes me that many "white" gay individuals do not understand or at the very least want to understand how Shirley Q. Liquor could be offensive to African Americans. The comments coming from gay "white" individuals in particular are disturbing to me and speaks volumes regarding why racism, homophobia, and religious discrimination still exists in our world.

  • Because if a group of people who have had their rights routinely trampled upon (partnership rights, job/housing discrimination, violence through gay bashing etc.) is not willing to at least be receptive as to why Shirley Q. Liquor offends African Americans, then what are the chances of homophobic individuals wanting to see another point of view and perhaps end their terrible offenses against gay people?

  • This simply is not "hilarious" to a group of people who have been systematically victimized by this type of stereotypical humor throughout U.S. history. Getting a cheap laugh to make fun of ethnic stereotypes (particularly by a Caucasian male in black face) is not a joke to millions of African Americans who have faced discrimination solely on the basis of their race for centuries.

  • Are you that fucking lonely that you had to post that bullshit comment on every one of these fucking shirley Q videos? Get a life you fucking idiot and let others enjoy the jokes. There is NOT 1 word in the english dictionary thats bad. N***er is not a bad word. Its the asshole using it out of context that makes it bad. So get off of youtube befor you hurt somebody.

  • Furthermore, comments such as "lighten up" etc. that I have read really highlight the need for diversity training/awareness even within the gay community. You would think that a community which has experienced gay bashings, discrimination in employment and housing as well as violations of their equal rights in regards to partnership rights etc. would be more sensitive to how offensive this material is to African Americans.

  • It may be offensive to you personally, but please do not presume to speak for EVERY African-American. To do so is false. Secondly, if it is offensive to you, simply do not view the videos. Simple!

  • It should be noted that many African Americans didn't "lighten up" when Isaiah Washington (formerly of Grey's Anatomy) made derogatory comments about the sexuality of his colleague. Many African American people I spoke to were greatly offended that a man who knows what it is like to be discriminated against would say such things. On the other hand, at least he apologized publicly and privately and tried to make amends by doing commercials promoting tolerance.

  • The performer "Shirley Q. Liquor" makes no apologies for his actions even when individuals directly state that this material is offensive to them. As Martin Luther King once said "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere". And this type of offensive humor is an injustice to millions of Americans (both African American & Caucasian) who risked their lives fighting for civil rights in America.

  • It should be noted that the civil rights movement paved the way for the gay rights movement in America and the least these performers could do is acknowledge that regardless if "Shirley Q. Liquor" is "hilarious" to them, that it is in fact a painful reminder to many African Americans of how media was used to degrade and humiliate African Americans throughout U.S. history.

  • lmfao...that is too freakin funny.

  • HILARIOUS! Would you happen to have Shirley Q.'s "The Twelve Days of Kwanza." If so PLEASE UPLOAD IT! Thanks. :)

  • please do the astrological forecast!

  • thanks for doing another one! you are hilarious!

  • LOL love it
