  • OMG watching this vid over and over just to see Mr Marr :D

  • I'm not a rock fan but Johnny Marr is bloody cool...<3

  • gorgeous - just the sexiest song ever...

  • johhny is so fucking cool it hurts

  • I always preferred this more up tempo, more aggressive sounding version. Johnny is of course God but Andy Rourke's bass is fabulous on this.

  • You can tell she's really enjoying it

  • Class!!!!

  • shaggable or what?

  • @beans1308 johnny? yeah 100%

  • @beans1308 erm... what? Certainly ain't shaggable!!

  • I love the way she sings "I really don't know and I really don't care"

  • Wow, Marr is really lovin' it

  • I share a birthday, a home town and a school with the delightful Ms S. She is mint.

  • Oh she just gave it everything she had! Love her and love this version too.

  • This girl can dance

  • Its a pleasure to meet this beautifull lady , she´s so pretty and sings so well..

  • what a glorious bassine

  • An absolutely BRILLIANT version!! There's still some life in the old girl yet!!

  • Charles Hawtrey from the Carry On films was asked to record this but he never replied to their letter so Sandie was asked instead.

  • @kidderguy Charles Hawtrey for real? - That would have sounded fucked up

  • Charles Hawtrey from the Carry On films was asked to recor this but he never replied to their letter so Sandie was asked instead.

  • That's why musicians don't dance, Sandie.

    But I love you though.

  • @MacHazzer i love her dancing

  • It's just like the original "Hand in Glove" except without all of the beauty/emotion/good vocals...

  • i wish she would have done the entire Smiths catalog

  • Shes pretty good at this.

  • Download the audio from this vid at tubepull doht cohm.

  • Look at Sandie go! It's amazing how free and relieved she is on stage.

  • wow!!! have never heard this before. Sandie is good mates with Morrissey... Right this is really good.

  • not bad :D uppity women unite! lol tho i do perfer morrissey lol

  • A genius pairing, fabulous song and an equally fabulous vocal from Sandie. Energetic performance from Sandie in an (understandabley) 'mummsie' sort of way. Great stuiff.

  • Morrisey must have been choked as she does it better

  • not going to lie, the smiths look badass when it cuts to all four of them and johnny waving the flower. great song btw

  • @UnoStudios They look like the maffia. Not sure where the flower fits in with that idea, though.

  • @Reint25 I see it as Johnny Marr giving Sandie persmission to sing this song.

  • Definitely a classic performance right here, Sandy Shaw really does Hand In Glove Justice with her great chops and high energy. I actually love this version a little more better due to the fact she really makes it her own. Great Performance and lol @ Johnny Marr emulating Chuck Berry doing the duck walk while playing the guitar.

  • Loved the idea..when i was playing in a band i wanted to something along the same lines with Aussie 60's singer Yvonne Barrett..but sadly she was tragically murdered in 1985...super pop mashup with Sandie & The Smiths..to all the naysayers you obviously dont get it...as Morrissey says its not worth analyzing

  • @billtambo This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written - you're an idiot. How do you manage to operate a computer?

  • @dancupid it is...when the smiths perform it. sandie shaw is dreadful. i'm the idiot for having an opinion? i operate my computer by turning it on and using it like everyone else, you absolutely thick fucking cunt.

  • @billtambo you're right, you are repulsive, as you say

  • WOWWWWWWWW

    what a great voice !

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • Fantastic!!!!

  • This video was a very uplifting thing to post. It really wouldn't do to analyze the video.

  • Sandie Shaw --- hand in glove ------ brilliant

  • @martywhitevan u must be the only one to think it. if it's bad karaoke, what's good?

  • sandie shaw meets smiths,unforgettable,tiki,belgrade

  • Oh look it's Sandie Shaw.

    top of pops memories

  • The Smiths MILF moment

  • I love Sandie Shaw and Morrissey why isn't Sandie bare footed here seems weird.

  • wow this version is amazing! the smiths only track is great but it seems they (without morrissey) really had a chance to go all out on bass and guitar for this version, while it is still the same song, sandie does it differently than moz. Marrs distinct style comes through without the prominence of moz, and sandie really seems at home, its easy to see where some of his stage motion comes from.

  • @keaneterpol Its the most impassioned ive ever seen him.

  • i hate this version, Morrissey is SO much better!!!

  • wish they'd done a stuido version of this would have been a great cover kind of

  • @Chriseycarlyeah324 They did, they're miming, sandie shaw released this as a single in 1984 with i don't owe you anything as the b side.

  • Thats very good actually. Sandie gives some refreshing Energy to the Song.

  • It's funny to see the clips of Morrissey with her voice :)

  • sandie to front the smiths, sorry morrissey your fired

  • Thats a surreal thought......

  • @howe1955 Exactly, I love Sandie, can't stand Morrissey. That makes this my fav. Smiths' song.

  • ohhhh At 0:07 thats soo Cool!, Sandie Sings this Song Great!

  • and if the people stare then the people stare

  • Some how reminds me of Sponge Bob's Sandie (The Squirrel). Cheerful & uplifting !

  • Just like Morrissey says: "It was a very uplifting thing" to watch Sandie Shaw just belt out this tune.

Something about her dancing & crooning in this video just makes me so happy.

  • "so I'll stay on your arm cause your a charmer"? isn't the original lyric "so stay on my arm you little charmer"? Come on get it right sandie.

  • Go Sandie. What a spectacular comeback this was.

  • HOLY CRAP this is good.

  • look at sandie go...

  • This is absolutely ridiculous, in the best way possible!

It really allows you to see The Smiths' pop influence, especially Marr's.. just look at him!

    I love that little charmer..

    AHH!

  • Sou grande fã de Smiths e Sandie Shaw.

    Valeu pelo upload!

    =D

  • Too cool for words !!! Love love love this !!!

  • The more I watch this video (and the one from the tv program), the more I listen to Sandie singin the song, the more I think her voice is simply perfect for it...I really feel good, I'd like to dance till the end of my life with this gorgeous song!

  • @tubarix sorry but to me it sound like bad kareoke...

  • Fantastic.

    Thanks for putting this up.

  • It's a great cover. Well not even a cover, at the end of the day it's The Smiths!

  • I absolutely adore the smiths (and Im probably going to get slated for this !!) but I do prefer Sandi Shaw singing hand in glove to Morrisey !, she does a fantastic job of it

  • I second that sentiment. I've been booed and hissed for saying it as well

  • Whilst I prefer the original, I do have to say that this version is seriously good.

  • VIVA Sandie Shaw! una diva que ha resistido el paso del tiempo... su voz la hemos escuchado en los 60,70,80,90 y aún hoy. Interesante interpretación con The Smiths.

  • Cool!

  • WOW thank you for that one!
