garageband has a constant metronome that KEEPS THE BEAT so you can follow it. if it doesnt have a lot of sounds then YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN! you can copy and paste tracks by holding down the "option" key and then clicking and dragging the selected piece into place. simple as that. i cant exactly make my own beats since there is unlimited things to do on a drumset, but i always start from scratch using the musical typing thing and putting the notes into place for a good beat and then looping it.

your change the beat around way to much. as a result you got lots of negative feedback. the piano with the drum that you had going at first...nice. I was expecting you to drop the drums real quick let the paino run solo pick back drums up again, and add something minor. or change one note or two from the piano ballad, bring the drums back in and switch back and forth between the SIMILAR piano ballads. or simple did that for the drums instead.

you know man... the green blobs, you put it in another drum kit and it sounds different... also you click on the "scissor" icon beside the big eye icon. you see the timeline up close and you can move around teh timing for each hit or sound. or change what sound it makes... helps alot!

Instead of clicking 'track' then 'make new track' then dragging the loop to the new track, you can just drag the loop into the grey and it will automatically make a new track =) Saves a few clicks. ;)

to be honest with you, using all loops in there original form is really lame. if you wanna try something different, what i do is find a loop i like, and then change it to a different instrument. thats if your using software instrument loops. im just saying, it makes the songs way cooler
