maxi always was one of the annoying opponents, speeds and guard breaking true. raphael dont know if he is still in it. was as good or better cause of extended range, and talim had lots of quick long combo's with guard breaking. so my vote goes for talim... BUT THEY TOOK HER OUT :|

I have this game now, and I have a few complaints: First off, there does not seem to be any sign of Setsuka or Talim. (Why remove chars?) Second, the items in the creation menu do not allow you to customize the way you could back in SC4. They look pretty, but don't actually DO anything for your character. That seems like a step backwards to me. Third, they dumbed down Ivy to the point where she apparently does not have her stances anymore. Just WTF NAmco!?

Soul Calibur 2 was the best of this franchise. All fighting games seem to play the same with a "super meter" and "ultra unblockable moves". I liked the Guard Impact system in Soul Calibur 2 because it could be used by anyone, could turn a fight around in an instant and didn't rely on overused guages. Every iteration seems to dumb it down and rely more on guages.

@Drummertist Yes, nobody 'administered' their game back then. In games with meters all you do is think about the meter and then use it. Thats not fun, playing each second like its the best is awesome, unlike playing 10 minutes waiting for the 10 seconds of the super move.

These have no idea what they are talking about. A soul crush does not give you a automatic win anymore that was soul calibur 4. Also you dont need to just impact critical edge move you can just block them, except for the ones that grab like viola's.

though the gameplay and commentary on this video, it seems like the designers main goal was simply to assimilate soulcalibur to every other fighting games standard, and thats a shame. it seems like they were just trying to make soul calibur like every other fighter rather than making the fantastic sequel it deserves. If its rushed and limp on features, idk if i can drop another 60 precious dollars on a game playing catch up

Everything else looks good. The only thing that is bothering me is that there are alternate versions of Sophitia's kids and 3 mimic characters. Well, I don't mind Edge Master but 2 EXTRA MIMIC CHARACTERS? 2 EXTRA PYRRHA AND PATROKLOS? I'm thinking Namco didn't give Project Soul enough time to complete this game. Judging by the character selection, it just looks rushed. I'll still play it. Since there are a few characters missing...put Talim in and PLEASE! NO MIMIC CHARACTERS.

from what I've seen of SC V, it already is vastly superior to SC IV, most importantly the character creation system has returned to the levels it was at in SCIII, if not better( I hope they have multiple layers again and not just one for chest and upper body, and be able to wear capes with anything again) While the game looks fantastic, I'll have to play it myself to find out if it can really surpass SCIII. also if no one has figured it out yet, Viola will turn out to be Amy.
