Keep in mind, the first two Need For Speed games wasn't about escaping cop chases. The whole action racing thing started in the third game of the series, NFS III: Hot Pursuit, and since then it has carried on till this day (with a few exceptions). So I don't think it's right to call City Connection as "an original Need for Speed" since the real "original Need for Speed" wasn't like this, not even remotely. Nevertheless, this is a fun little game.

I think the game does suck, the "cat" looks like a baby with a checkered flag, and if I'm not suppose to run over it, then why does it make such a happy noise when I do it!

This was one of my fave NES games, I don't understand why people hate it.

Also the cat's death theme music makes me laugh every time.

Also I believe that cat is holding a street racing flag, not an umbrella.

This came out in the arcades back in 1985. I've never seen it, nor do I remember it in any arcade at any point in time, but I have played it on M.A.M.E. The arcade version also has the same "weird refreshing" game play elements. And yes, those are cats that you are running over! lol!
