GDC 11: Guild Wars 2 interview (part 1)

GW2 is going to be my first MMO for a few reasons.

1. The combat looks more solid than other mmo's and more responsive.

2. The design is amazing.

3. The pvp looks amazing.

4. the character creation is so awesome

5. NO MONTHLY FEE!!!!!

But i will probably be a noob for awhile.

The only problem with GW PvP was that there was no big map, big competitions outside of World. 40+ people battlegrounds would be pro.

GW2 will be Epic Fail. Devs promised a next-gen fantasy MMO, but making WoW 1.5 plus a lot of brainwashing advertisement.

@MrSeival Dude, it's nothing like WoW. The controls.. combat system is complelety different! SwToR is however basically a copy of wow in the combat system. GW2 IS a next-gen MMO!

Stopped the video right there and had to slam down a comment. That's something I've grown to hate the MOST about WoW, the fact that you are safe everywhere and there is no threat, no danger. If you don't want to die, you most likely won't. City Guards? Guarding what? Small boars?

Damn that sucked when the interviewer asked him about destroying WoW, it's not the kinda thing you ask I don't think, just made the interview awkward because you can tell that Arenanet wants to appeal to a different market and make a good game.

And those friends calls more friends and WoW's pop dwindles...its not Arena nets fault. And i dont want WoW's trolls to come here and destroy OUR community. I'ma play GW2 but i wont say its a wow killer. GW2 is just that GW2, its gonna be fun..and enjoyable :) i can't wait.

@lunar05 What i like is the realm vs real events apparently it will happen once a week so it forces the community to bond together. If you see me killing some poor soul feel free to jump in and kill some with me or cough cough fight me >:D

Sever vs sever vs sever is one of the most things i love about this game i really cant wait to get on and play.. i also like the classes no healer/tank/dps ur all there to help eachother so no dungeons were noob people blame the healer if they die and such... also no subscription is sweet buy once and pay once is a good way to do things its going to get a good amount of people playing

Server VS Server VS Server

3 servers put against eachother to battle and take over eachother's areas. But 1 server can have like 1400 people while the others have 300 and 600. The 300 and 600 servers can team up temporally to take down the 1400 one and then break the alliance and go back to killing eachother once the threat is dealt with.

I heard it's a week long battle and anyone can join in. You can switch servers so you're not permanently bound into 1 forever like in other MMOs

GW2 is making their PvE experience alot better with the use of their Dynamic Event System. as far as PvP is concerned GW has always had a better arena experience when compared to WoW as matches are more balanced, both from a skill and gear perspective.

@Vnewbie Nobody cares, World of Warcraft is mostly filled with casuals. This game, by far is casual friendly in terms of PvP or time spent.

It's most likely that casuals will migrate to Guild Wars 2, as it wont feel like a job.

Nobody has done anything better than World of Warcraft in terms of PvE, so no. Guild Wars 2 on the other hand gives hope, however not for PvE... but Rp wise and PVP.

@Cmppayne26542 We'll see when it hit the shelves and goes 6 months into sale, if the casuals move from wow, it will result in chinese prioners movement to so they can farm the currency in GW2 and sell it. WoW have had its peak, and will slowly degenerate down to a lower sub number. Like all other games before it and surely after it
