I found this to be truly inspirational. Did you plan your campsites in advance? Or did you just find them on the way? Was your route planned meticulosly? I was thinking of taking me and my son off on a trip like this. But in an mx5. I figure we could squeeze in enough camping gear for a week or so. Any tips welcomed. Awesome video. Thanks.
@LeighPing Hi, i had a rough idea of the route i wanted to ride and just found campsites on the way. Using a Tom-Tom GPS i could work out roughly where we would end up each day, worked really well. Sometimes we rode more than expected, sometimes less. It's good to have somewhere to aim for, Stelvio (Italy) was one of mine and i just took the rest day by day.
I am really happy you liked my video and hope you make the trip with your son, it will be the holiday of a lifetime. Best wishes .... Mike
@Magna4940 Made the trip with my son in the end. Toured France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. It was awesome. If you want to see the pics search '1200 mile Euro camping trip' on the forum in my airscarf mod video via my name.
cheers for great vid.rode stelvio last year after german motogp just brought back great memories of trip.off to eastern europe this year after sachsenring motogp.keep up the good work
Doing a similar trip this year and after seeing this cant wait. Done 3 trips in France before but this year its Scotland. England, Holland, Germany, Switzerland, France, Luxenburg, Belgium and back to Scotland. Now where did I put that map ......................................................
Nice video, well put together and good selection of music. The Swiss have it right, drink as much as you like but until you can't pronounce "Feldschlossen" to ask for another so you don't get one, ha.
Yeah it was brilliant, he's been on bikes for nearly 50 years now and this was the first time we had been on a biking holiday together. I have lived in Holland for the last 18 years and we just never quite managed to get around to organizing it until last year.
I loved it, he did too so that's why we are planning another trip together this year.
I'm lucky, not many people get to go on hols with there dad and share the same hobby of motorcycling.
Please....Share a Google map of the exact route you took through those countries/towns ect. If you're not sure how to use Google map, please just list the towns from start to end....Cheers man. Enjoyed it much
I have a Canon Ixus 800is and as for the video ............ i drove with one hand on the bars ! other hand filming. Camera wasnt attachted to the bike in any way, bit naughty but i was careful.

FANTASIC production, both in terms of footage,
well edited and of course, the sub ject, the trip
itself. Through your dedication, time invested,
you have contributed to get other rifders off the
couch (stop watching videos) and into action,
for them to go on their own trip, includimng me.
-Well done Magna 4940.

@Normanskie Cheers mate, glad you liked the vid.
I enjoyed putting it together and yes i do agree with you about the Swiss.
We couldnt even pronounce it after one can ! later in the evening we ordered 'Becks', seemed easier.
Thanks again for the comment, appreciate it. .... Mike
