ltc92 Tommy Faile wrote the super big truck driving song "Phantom 309", I think it was Red Sovine had the big hit, never heard Tommy do it. I grrew up watching Tommy on the early morning Arthur Smith show on WBTV, Charlotte. Don Reno was also with The Hired Hands before moving to Arthur Smith for a while, then he teamed up with Red Smiley and moved off to Virginia. All This was in late 40's and early 50's .........

Great to see these guys on YouTube. I used to listen to Snuffy and Homer on radio many years ago, and remember Tommy Faile with Arthur Smith and on radio out of North Carolina. Post more if you have them. Thanks.

Tommy Faile was not only a good singer, but a really nice guy, too. "Brown Mountain Lights" has to be one of his best. Tommy should have had more exposure. He was definitely talented...gone but not forgotten.
