You are confused about the track names. To clear this confusion follow these steps:

-Go to the official mars volta website (themarsvolta . com).

-Click on "lyrics",

-Click on cassandra gemini.

-Read that the first lyrics in CASSANDRA GEMINI, are "I think ive become one of the others"

-Realised that the song you posted is actually the begining of CASSANDRA GEMINI

-Realise track 4 of frances the mute is miranda, track 5 to the end are all cassandra.

Realize that in the track listing on the back of the actual physical album, Pour Another Icepick, Pisacis (Phra-Men-Ma), and Con Safo are listed under Miranda, despite being part of the Cassandra Gemini suite. One going strictly by the album's track listing would not know this upon first glance or even first listen. Therefore, the confusion has a legitimate reasoning behind it -- it is not pure idiocy.

@leox87 amigo, esto es el principio de Cassandra, es el unico tema que esta dividido, pero no fue por que el grupo lo quiso asi. Si no, la empresa les dijo que un "album LP" no puede tener solo 5 temas, y siendo un tema de 35 minutos, pues lo dividieron.

es verdad que Cygnus, Miranda, y Cassandra todos tienes secciones de movimientos como las composiciones clasicas pero Cassandra es la unica dividida por marcadores digitales. la información en itunes is incorrecta.

That is incorrect. This entire album is a concept album based off a diary found in a car repossessed by deceased band mate Jeremy Ward. Cassandra Gemini is mere continuation, an elaboration or another emotional side of Miranda....etc. They sound similar but listen to the album again. An easy mistake though.. ;-)

Problem with that is that the opening to Tarantism is incomplete, and in fact, if memory serves me well, a continuation of Con Safo.

Add to this the fact that everything after Vade Mecum is played at a different tempo and general key, which continues to the end of the album, through the back-cover listing of Gemini.

Finally, the official lyrics database that Lachy101 referenced shows Miranda's lyrics ceasing at the end of Vade Mecum, and Cassandra Gemini's beginning with Pour Another Icepick.

The Frances The Mute CD was deemed too short at only 5 tracks to be an LP. If TMV wanted to be paid for a full album, they would have to make more tracks. However, as the longest track was over 30mins, they split it into 8 parts instead. When the album was released there was a mistake in the database that incorrectly listed tracks one and four as being split as well. The correct listing can be found on the vinyl print. This movement is actually called Cassandra Gemini I.

There is an interview in drummer magazine with john theodore about how he tracked the drums in cassandra geminni, including this part.. because it is cassandra geminni. Then the 20 or so minutes in between was a live jam of the band in the studio, which omar then added strings etc afterwards, then the final bit was tracked again. So according the John, this is cassandra, not miranda.
