  • God, Jon Stewart has a great moral compass. I love watching him and Stephen Colbert in interviews. They really are intelligent heartfelt people. Damn cool.

  • Jon Stewart seems really smart.

  • Grab em, and go!

  • The city this is in is Inglis, Florida which is in the neighboring county of mine. I could get there in about 30 minutes.

  • 0:04-0:10 death stare from Stewart. lol

  • When you understand that satan is the figure for your self doubt, criticism, and the counter force for absolute certainty, banning satan just becomes all the more funnier.

  • steve is amazing, pretty much my hero!

  • just gained a lot of respect for jon.

that's some serious truth right there

  • stewart looks so dark and realistic in this, im used to the laughing jon stewart but heres hes real, goddamnit he looks frustrated because of the media and helpless, fuck

  • i can't find this mayor clip they talk about!!!

  • Religion's a personal thing. This mayor is nuts and there's no way around that. The problem is, so many people call themselves a 'fighter of social injustice' or 'anti-prejudice' etc.. then characterized all people of any religious faith as 'nuts' and 'insane'. That's just a bigoted as anything else.

However, it's also just sensationalized in the media and so on. Most people aren't so narrow minded. The majority of normal people have friends from every end of the spectrum.

  • @hamartolos1 That's because a great many people who are religious do and say things that would to any reasonable person be considered insane.

I agree Religion is a personal thing but not to many religious people who insist that Church and State be one, that there be prayer in public schools and that abortion be rendered illegal for all time. That's not personal-its public policy.

The fact is that there is no religious left in this country-only a religious right.

  • its not appropriate because its religious. religion has no place in government. ppl would go nuts if u banned ala, or think u were crazy if u banned zues. it just has no place in the realm of making decision for a community

  • @bobmoore20 Well said dude

  • Genius...hot, sexy, genius.

  • 0:01

  • do we have those clips about the news reports that theyre talking about here on youtube?

  • Was there a follow-up story? Did crime rates decrease, increase, or stay virtually unchanged after the proclamation?

  • @logsdonj i doubt it

  • @Darthsantana They should do a follow-up story. However, I don't think the religious would like to hear that there was probably no affect on crime/poverty/morality whatsoever.

  • @logsdonj no i doubt there was and (although i have religon) i dont think it was really apropriate i mean its just kind of out there

  • That mayor was SO trollin...

Good job crazy mayor. Good job.

  • @peacheslovesjesus lol religion's a disease

  • GOOD FOR THE MAYOR!!!!!

  • god i love how people can think they can do something so silly as banning satan

  • where's the original skit of this ? I laughed so much watching it....would love to see it again.

  • @peacheslovesjesus Shit i remember in prison i seen this puerto rican guy named jesus taking it in the ass by this big asian guy names Sai Tan.

  • @peacheslovesjesus Riddle me this riddle me that! I wont regret it trust me i dont believe in that cooky fairy tale shit like you.You will regret it when you die and realize you lived a lie your whole life haha.Life is short have fun stop with that fake jibberish.

  • @peacheslovesjesus yeah........we're not regretting anything, soon. unless it's murder; then we will be sorry/crazy. What? an athiest with morals? that's unheard of!

  • @peacheslovesjesus

How about that fucker gives us some peace and love? No?

Shove those quotations up your tight behind.

  • To nevermind1993, the last thing I want to do is offend you, but you have to realize that all throughout the Bush presidency many families could barely bring home groceries to their families because of the presidents narrow minded economic philosophies. Our family had to rake in cash constantly just to pay the bills. So I kind of have the right to say whatever I want, just like you have right to say what you want, not that it's justified. By the way I'm a conservative.

  • where can I find the interview with that mayor?

  • @Galactic123 he must have a switch too: on = irreverent

    off=maudlin just like MASH :)

  • what show are they talking about?

  • Ads, ads, ads. I hate ads.

  • 0:06-0:10 You must all obey the villainous eyes of Jon Stewart >:U...go on! obey them!

  • If anyone wants to watch the actual skit its on the Daily Show website under the date of January 8, 2002. The skit's name is "Satan Laws Are Coming to Town".

  • i love steve carrell & jon stewart :)

  • lol Jon got all serious at the end there. Like an old episode of M.A.S.H. or something. Start off with some light comedy, end on some kinda harrowing tone.

  • What do mean ban Satan? He lived in the White House for 8 years.

    From 2000 to 2008

  • i agreed with you up until the last line.

  • @nevermind1993 If you're a fucking conservative, why are you watching a video filled with liberal comedians, who obviously have the sense of humor you lack?

  • @MordaciousFilms im conervative and i dont agree with their views, but most ppl in the entertainment business are liberal, so im used to it, u rlly cant avoid it lol

  • @MordaciousFilms btw i dont agree with liberals social views for the most part i am actually an atheist conservative lol

  • @xxballsonweelsxx What a shame...

  • @xxballsonweelsxx Ouch! Not only are you going to hell but you're going to sit at the right side of Cheney. buhdoomboom

  • @xxballsonweelsxx an atheist conservative!!! imposible hey just kidding im actualy a "religous" liberal but yeah i just thought was kinda rare i dont really know any atheist conservatives so have a nice day

  • @DillenWilliams Best Comment Ever!

  • yeah but ever since he crawled out from underneath the floorboards there in 2009... he's been running the place

  • Sweet! God I love Stewart!

  • What show is Steve talking about?

  • the daily show

  • mr stewart looks way serious at the beginning

  • Hitchens calls that kind of news story the death of journalism because it requires no real reporting, investigation or analysis whatsoever - point, shoot, and ask 'How are you feeling?'.

  • Theres no need to ban Satan from your town, He lives in Las Vegas.

  • Jeez, Jon. Good point but, bummer.

  • You may laugh now.....

But that mayor might turn out to be the next Republican VP!

  • Ahahaha, good one;)

  • I agree with Jon!

  • hahaha 1:28 go steeeve!

  • Lol, trust Jon to inject a whole load of SERIOUS into the discussion lol, but he was so right. I

  • Steve Carell is so likeable!

    I love this moment: 1:28

  • This is why I love Jon Stewart, he does this great mini speech about the beast that is the news media...and then realizes at the end that the question was really about the Daily Show's relationship to the beast: "and we're just...here to help."

  • I love the idea that she actually thinks any supernatural enitity would a fuck what she thought.

I mean theorecticly it took heavens mightyest angel to kick him out.

  • how do you know the mayor isnt an angel

    eh?

    EH?

  • Well.....if the mayor was the archangel michael (the only angel badass enough to go toe to toe with morningstar) then the town would probably be about 300 times more awsome.

Unless the mayor is secretly one the Norse pantheon...I mean all those guys kick ass.

  • what is carell's show? besides the office?

  • what is john stewart's show?? besides the daily show?

What is stephen colbert's show?? besides colbert report?

  • he makes lot of movies u idiot..

    -little miss sunshine

    -evan almighty

    -40 years old virgin

    -dan in real life

    -get smart.. and many more..

  • not diversified? I'm not trying to argue you, but you gotta understand any actor has to pay his dues. Heres a few: TV shows: Dana Carvey Show, voice on SNL for Ambiguously Gay Duo (he was Gary), Watching Ellie, Over the Top. Radio: Co-host of Americas Top 40: Movies see above, but add Curly Sue. Musicals: The Second City, Knatt Scat's Private Eye. Oh, and for shits and giggles, check out why he flunked law school lol

  • I think he means why would he be at this meeting, what ties him in with colbert and stewart(he use to be a daily show correspondent)

  • now where can i actually find the video of this satan banning skit? i cant find it anywhere.

  • If you're still looking, every clip can be found on the daily show site. Just search for town bans satan or something like that.

  • Jons reaction to her not seing comedy central is greatXD

  • I know, it's hilarious! Carell is hilarious as well!

  • Yeah, I love him aswellXD
