question why cant the islanders win now? i became an islander fan in tulsa when i watched dennis potvin in the battle of the stars in 1976. he did well against other sports athletes and i started following the islanders. living in tulsa we didnt get to see much hockey other than minor league. i would watch the islanders on usa network with al troutwig. i once drove 100 miles just to see the islanders on satellite tv in the early 80s. the islanders need to get back to where they belong...on top.
OK vid, but you left out most of our most important history. We are the most successful American hockey franchise in HISTORY. We won 4 consecutive Stanley Cups, and you hardly even touch on it. It isn't ANCIENT history, I was there for them. You should do another and include the horses, the guys who built this team, Potvin, Nystrom, Gillies, Smith, Trottier, Bossy.

The first part of this is great. Including the DiPietro fight is a real nice move. Forgot about all that.
And Dubie getting us in the playoffs - that was great *recent* history.
But - why include "accomplisments" by back stabbers or underachievers like Ryan Smyth and Miro Satan? They aren't really part of Islander history.
Cairns battles - yes.
