They're both very good at what they do (good musicians and extremely good arrangements). But Emperor is still the best and most progressive metal bands hailing from the icy northern parts of Europa.

Yeah this song/album definitely isn't pure black metal. If you've listened to real black metal like old Darkthrone and old Satyricon, you'll know that this is nothing like it. Sure, it certainly has black metal in it, but it's got alot of other elements and seems more like blackened death metal than anything. There isn't enough consistent tremelo-picking and there's too many tempo/key changes (which is a death metal trait) for it to be considered straight black metal. Still good stuff, though.
