  • Hey, just an advice for you there, you should check out all season performance tires to make your vehicle perform aggressive like a performance car and better performance spark plugs.

  • @chrisma2 I LOVE YOU

  • @chrisma2 the duct is built in the housing which leads to your grille, should come with the intake, if youre buying a quality product of course. and the hood closes the top of the housing when its down. so really it is isolated from the rest of the engine and pulling air from outside, if of course your intake manufacturer cares about quality over profit

  • Yeah, remove the intake that gets cold air directly from the grill, away from hot components, and relocate it to next to the expansion tank in the engine bay. Awesome idea.

  • Is this kind of filter fits to e46 320d 2002?

  • How many horse power and torque it actually gains?

    Anyone had any experience?

  • @askfskpsk no gain, just a small surface area with big holes to allow dirt in to your engine to cause damage. Why would anyone use a K&N? The original filter is best an due to being oversized, it supplies more filtered air than the engine can use at full RPM.

  • @urbex2007

Surprised since many people claimed they have had power gained after performance filter was installed.

I suppose they tell the truth.

  • @askfskpsk +2 MPG with magnaflow and res delete. but no noticeable power increase.

  • @urbex2007 uhm intakes do affect exhaust notes, because the more air an engine takes in the more exhaust its going to produce, changing the flow of exhaust and thus changing the sound. shows how much you know about engines, bashing on cold air intakes, particularly k&n, for no apparent reason. if properly installed, an aftermarket intake can add upwards of 10hp, this means isolating the filter element from the rest of the engine, and heatwrapping the intake pipe to the manifold.

  • @Ednumber39 Agreed except that it only effects exhaust scavenging, not exhaust flow. Less restriction on air intake means its easier for the intake to pull the air when the intake valve opens. there is a point in operation when both valves are just slightly open and for a VERY short period of time. the exiting exhaust creates a vacuum which thus begins to pull air thru the intake. The only way to change exhaust flow it to modify the exhaust from ports/valves to dump.

  • @UltraViolentZombie thats why its always good to lay straight pipes from your headers back, no backpressure=even MOAR scavenging....innit great? oh wait, thats several thousand dollars in traffic violations...oh how i hate the american justice system......

  • @urbex2007 it works best if you use the care kit sold by KN which includes filter oil. this oil is used make debris stick to the filter element. Tho if used correctly, requires constant and diligent cleaning. plus the stock air filter is made to fit in it's "air filter box" which restricts air flow to the air intake/throttle body.

  • does it improve mpg?

  • Now spend the money on any better than a camera phone so we have a better idea of wtf this is.

  • @jaystyles007 lol

  • Actually, CAI give better power (SMALL AMOUNT), better throttle response and better economy because it lets the car breathe more. Factory air boxes restrict air flow to make it more quiet for everyday people.

  • it gets your mass sensor fucked.... not recomend for ppl who want to keep this car for longer

  • @MasofkeNIKE Agreed, the oil gets sucked in to the MAF and it also gets burnt and causes errors with exhaust gas sensors. The K&N has gaping holes so allows huge bits of dirt and muck to sandblast the engine and turbo. NEVER use this piece of junk. Learn what a filter is, how a housing works and why it's best for the car.

  • @urbex2007 I see you all over the k&n filter mod vids do you have a bias or vested interest in another brand or are you just mad that you installed something wrong and now you decide to bash the company and anyone who uses it

  • LOL sums it up

  • 10db more sound for 20 horsepowers less! not a good deal..

  • Hi, i have BMW 323i, 2000,.. this Air Filter Intake system Works?? how many HP can i have with this?? or speed???, some one can Help my cuestion, Thanks.

  • It adds a smallest of power hardly noticable IMO, but it creates a great induction sound and changes the note of the exhaust system

  • @wld318 The exhaust is on the OUTPUT of the engine, not the input! Your K&N is on the input so don't confuse noise with power. K&N does NOT filter and it has gaping holes in it as the surface is 2ft in surface area. A paper element is 13ft and with the housing it outperforms a K&N any day. K&N lie and use contrick marketing. Lots of people fall for it.

  • @maurcio1973 You will see a reduction. A paper element passes more air than the engine can use at full revs. K&N allows dirt through, is smaller, blocks up faster and the oil breaks MAF sensors. They use clever marketing and people fall for it - owners don't know how an engine works or why a paper element and filter housing is better.

  • @maurcio1973 5% more power....

  • is it a problem having a cold air intake if u live in wet or coold places like michigan

  • no i have one on my 2002 bmw 330ci and its fine but in the winter you dont get as good of gas milage

  • @hish911 Why call it a "cold air intake". Every single car has a cold air intake. This shows how you and others are confused by terminology and so easily conned by clever marketing. At least you made your car slower so everyone can get past you .

  • @urbex2007 The correct term would be a "performance cold air intake." Even that he doesn't really have. If you look at the "heat shield" you will see a huge gap between the shield and the driver side fender. Hot air from the engine is simply swirling around the "heat shield" and into the filter, robbing power. Further that plastic shield/little rubber trim on top is laughable. A K&N filter w/proper heat shield will yield 6-9HP in this car.

  • I'd re-do this videao to get more credibility here

  • I'd re-do this video if I were you

  • crappy sound on ur camera, but k&n is definetly a great performance air filter, if you get the extra parts that go with it

  • sounds like shit

  • not really the best advertisement for K&N lol!!

  • Wow i have a 328ci with basicly the same intake and what a difference. I don't know if the sound is fucked up but that sounds terrible compared to mine.
