@cmandarano He had 2 passports, a German and a Finnish one. In Finland passport policy is real loose so you don't even have to learn the language to have it.
@MacGovernor well I have a finnish passport because of my ancestry...I however learned the language eventually, but yes not all finnish citizens are finnish speakers. hell some finns who grow up in north america have no chance to learn the language and then they are conscripted to serve in the army and they cant even understand basic phrases.
@ThePinkRex yeah, how bout you just shut the fuck up, moron. If you were born in america and you're family's lived there for generations you have to apply for you passport, you don't just get it. And if you're a foreign born finn with a passport you still don't get forced into national service, though you can volunteer.
Stinkh vänsin lujja. Den sit sale etsaleth. Eritmithama-aastalelaful. Ikh kan no survih ephossum. - direct finnish "translation" (that means nothing).
Well he speaks german and actually almost free of accent. How could that idiots mix that? At least in german dubbed version it's really finnish, so at least german know what finnish is =P
I'm just watching the movie here in Finland....my goodness...can't Hollywood even find out what the Finnish language sounds like...but then again, they don't know a lot over there about accents and languages, they probably don't even know where we are in the world...they have enough money to spend so you think they would be able to google something about this country...:)
Goddamn American's! a movie made with a budjet of millions and they can't even find somebody to really go there and speak finnish, cause that is german not finnish
Fuck! a movie budget worth millions and no documentation has been carried out and no finnished is heard unless you watch the german version...so fucked up...1st , that could'nt be more evident that they're speaking german...and then, when the stood cop says in an intend to look literate "you're fucked Hamlet"...and Hamlet is not Finnish but Danish!! - I love this movie but I have to admit that it pisses me off the way they've fucked up!!
It is really German! xD At 0:52 he doesn't say anything like "Ikea is Swedish" or what the other translates... what he says simply means "Argh, kiss your ass, you monkey" or something. xD
Neither is "Axl Torvalds" a very Finnish name:D They've probably just taken the only Finn they've heard of, Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux, and then come up with a first name that sounds like anything but English.
I guess it was too expensive to hire a finnish speaker in the hollywood area. haha
Ihan hyvä pätkä muuten. Kieliongelmat on aina esillä, koska jenkkituottajat pelkää että Pekka-peruskuluttajaidiootti vieraantuu leffasta, jos siinä puhutaan jotain muuta ko enkkua.
They had the money to hire Travolta and Berry for this movie but not two 'real' finns? They didn't even know that almost every other finn speaks perfect english, especially the young people and especially the world's best 'hacker'.
Why are they speaking German if they're supposed to be Finnish? I guess doing research for your movie isn't popular in Hollywood.
