  • Simple and student like. Vibrato at all the notes thats difficult. ajaja! boring!

  • the very first tone could knock any trumpeter down.

  • Does Tine speak English, or not?

  • @DaveWollenberg Yes, she does.

  • @DaveWollenberg Very well, no less. There's a video of her on youtube speaking.

  • AAAAAIII COMO SOPLA LA RUBIA!!!!!! MEEERENGUE MERENGUE

  • Prolly could do without the bongos. But,.... definitely needs CowBell.

The Thing is LOVELY tonight. Gosh, Gorgeous.

  • It sounds a lot like the carol "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen". A lovely performance, but I found the man going nuts on the Bongos a distraction!

  • @SuperWilyum The recording from 2006, which I have also posted here, is much better, and no bongos.

  • @kaarekjohnsen haha...I actually like the bongos :P

  • @SuperWilyum which bongos ? there are no bongos.. there is a drum set involved, but the drummer is hardly going nuts; it fits the arrangement. Of course everything is a matter of taste, but is the drum rhythm you refer to really a distraction ? Following the logic of your argument you could say that the trumpet distract the melody. It's a matter of interpretation.

  • @FoxyFleets Thanks for your comment. I felt that the drumming imparted a primitive "jungle" sound that did not enhance the spirit of the piece, but rather coarsened it. Yes, it's a matter of taste.

  • @SuperWilyum Sorry for the harsh tone of my comment. After a second listen today I agree with you. Sadly this kind of bad-taste instrumentation and approach to form has become quite stereotypical and frequent although drums and elctric instruments doesn't really work that well in church's rich ambience.

  • @SuperWilyum , jepp thats Norway, put in some bongos, and you made it ethnicaly correct,,,, I have seen her live sometimes true work, she is amasing

  • @Shure3111 LOL!!

  • @SuperWilyum

    true & absolutely right

  • transcribe it

  • very nice played song, she is very good.

the song is making me feel beter

  • does anyone know where i can find the sheet music for this in Bb?

  • does anybody know where i could find the sheet music for this

  • what is this actually called

  • @trumpetmonster111 If you mean the title, it is what it says: "Mitt hjerte alltid vanker" (in Norwegian).

  • @kaarekjohnsen where can u get the sheet music??

  • @trumpetmonster111 Sorry, I don't know. Try to contact The Salvation Army in Norway ('cause she also plays it in another version with a Salvation Army brass band here on YouTube). Or contact her management.

  • @trumpetmonster111 it is much simpler if you transcribe it ..

  • @trumpetmonster111 "My Heart Stood Still"

  • @skaterwouter1 I thought that it was My Heart Always Wanders

  • @14zwr You're right.

  • Is this a b flat trumpet ? I tried playing it on mine but it wouldn't come out.

  • @1shirlehful3 no, Tine usually plays an e flat trumpet...

  • @chifonn I wouldn't say "usually." She plays it for the Haydn and the Hummel, because they flow better with an Eb, otherwise she plays Bb, C and picc as needed, but mostly C, which is normal for European educated classical players.

  • I would love to have a copy of the sheet music for this. What a beautiful piece and well played.

  • On other performances, I've seen her playing a Schilke, though.

  • que hermosa melodia y su interpretacion en trompeta por esta señorita, diosa de la trompeta se oye como en el cielo.

  • Are you kidding me? Is this for real? She is amazing!

  • She plays a Yamaha Xeno C trumpet.

  • Does anyone know what brand or make and model of Trumpet she plays?

  • Sehr schone. Ausgezeichnet! I tis good to know there are still such players in this world. Elliott Oppenheim, Trumpeter, Trilllium Brass Trio, USA

  • there for a minute i seriously didnt think it waz her cuz her hair is usually straight. But she looks pretty either way:D

  • Perfec trumpet musician woman beautiful... I. love you ^_^

  • 3 people are absolutely not to play trumpet!

  • I always get tears in my eyes when I hear this video! she's so good to play!

  • She sounds and looks like an angel, especially with her change in hair style. Then she finishes, lowers her horn and then THOSE CHOPPERS!! I would like to see if she could bite a tuba in half. Great sound.

  • Very nice!

  • @kaarekjohnsen Just transcribe it dude

  • @kaarekjohnsen ...nodebibliotek.dk/nodebank/mithjert.pdf don't know if this is what you're looking for - google searched it ("noder" is the Danish/Norwegian name for sheet music, and that gives multiple results).

  • @Begitte Thanks, but I'm not the one who is looking! '24farmgal' is looking!

  • gosh i could only to hope to sound like her!! she is amazing!!!

  • Thine is amazing.A truly talented player. She plays so beautifully.Love her rock on

  • In this piece the trumpet she is playing isn't a Schilke, it's a Yamaha Chicago. I prefer Bach trumpets, but she sounds absolutely incredible!

  • Of all the pieces I have heard Tine play the tone quality and feeling she produces in the first minute or so of this piece is sheer perfection.

  • I think she is playing a Schilke Trumpet, not sure what model. I am 99 % sure it is a Schilke though.

  • Nydelig :)

  • Any third year trumpet player can play that tune note for note. But only a handful of pros can add that kind of spot on precision, tone and expression. Wouldn't you just kill for a master's class with her.

  • @B17MIKE

Thanks for saying that. I was thinking the same thing. Spot-on precision is well said. And beautiful tone. I couldn't agree more. And pretty!

  • @B17MIKE Master's class wasn't what was on my mind.... but yeah.

  • can can so feel her emotion in the trumpet by her facial expressions and in her sound.... absolutely angelic

  • sex music!

  • @demifan092 uuh, with her mout?

You can clearily see her cathing a breathe, lol n%b

  • how does she breathe!?

  • @demifan092 She didn't breath. She is from Norway as I'm, and we learn and not breath... Just kidding ;) I have no idèe how she dose it...

  • @demifan092 i believe she has a nose.

  • @demifan092 she does breath, phrases aren't that long...she breathes in between each phrases..?!..

  • she is hot!

  • What meker is her using trumpet?? YAMAHA Xeno??

  • @1204ABC Most professionals, especially at her level, have custom trumpets. I can't say I've ever seen a famous trumpet player with, say, a Strad or Xeno type trumpet. I could be mistaken, but I really think she is using a custon horn.

  • @matters9319 I think you and @1204ABC are both right. Others have identified it as a Yamaha Chicago C (Xeno Artist Model/Custom Xeno Series), and I would agree. On some of her pictures on the web with her C trumpet you can even make out the "X" on the bell. But I'd think she also has a technician who can adjust/customize it to her needs.

Her sound, expression and clarity are amazing -- 'hope it is not too long before I hear & see her and her trumpet in person.

  • I'm stealing somebody else's line when I say...

...I wish she'd play this in the nude

  • @flugel76 Agreed! I don't understand how there is a "correct way" to hold the trumpet. You want to hold it in a relaxed position and have all your energy focused on your embochure. We're all built differently, so that relaxed position should be different for all of us. I'll never forget last year when I got a 99 on a new york all state band audition because I lost a point on POSTURE...beccause "my right thumb is always curled". B.S.

  • does anyone have a sheet music for this wonderful music?

or knows where i can get it?

  • я тоже хочу так играть............... супер!!

  • i love the salvation army version with you ¡¡ is perfect i love you Tine xD

  • Bah... If it's comfortable for her and the trumpet sounds good... It's the perfect way of holding it for her ;-)

  • @guidolongoni I don't see her working the 3rd valve tuning slide. It would be awkward to do the way she holds the horn.

  • @JTemplon If you're coming from a cornet background - and Tine Thing Helseth learned her basics in a B British style Brass Band - the hold is quite common there. And if you have a 3rd valve slide trigger, it's no problem to work either.

  • @JTemplon She don't use the slide because in the song she doesn't need to: I think the only note with 3rd valve pushed in this video is G#. Anyway, you can be right, but she doesn't care :-) and plays well, also in this other video /watch?v=88fE_ol0xdw were she uses the slide at 0:46 pretty lightly&quickly, indeed.

The moral lesson here is that musicality and overall result is often more relevant than not audible technicalities ;-)

I take the chance to wish you a Merry Christmas!!!

  • there's no such thing as "holds her/his trumpet wrong". you should hold the way you feel more comfortable

  • @airtypes101 LOL. Whatever...

  • nice performance but not as good as the other one

  • Comment removed

  • Speechless
