How the hell do you exhaust air without intake? the ps3 doesn't just generate it's own air, it has to come from somwhere, you just haven't found where the actual intake is. I don't own one, so i don't know where it is either, maybe it shares the same grille as the exhaust, or maybe they just did a really good job of hiding it, but there's no way that they can do "only exhaust"

if it gets too warm it will overheat and that will help the dust buildup in your ps3 if you dont clean your ps3 you could get YLOD and that is very very bad :D

Actually the slim has fan intake ventilation underneath the small "lip" of the console on both left and right sides.

Thumbs up so people don't feel discouraged about buying a slim.

Well going back to my prior comment, sure you might say, "well technology gets cheaper as time goes by so 336 isn't the same as 840 3 years ago". That's not the point. ALL the components on the original 60GB version are of MUCH higher quality. Just look at the difference between the 60GB version and the 80. The 60GB has a LOT more metal in the back (vents). Also did you get a look at the massive cooling system? I own both and love both of them, but I gotta hand it to Sony, the original was BEST

The ORIGINAL PS3 60GB is the BEST PS3 out there. Let me tell you why.. Well let me get this out of the way, yes the PS3 60GB is most prone to YLOD but if you replace the thermal paste with some new AS5, it'll run quieter and cooler, and there will be less of a chance that you'll get the YLOD. Now to my main point, The PS3 60GB is better than all the later models simply because it costs more to make. It costs Sony $840 to make the PS3 60GB while only $336 dollars for the PS3 slim.

Yeah, the reason is becuase the blu-ray disc can fit more memory 25GB to be exact whereas the DVD-R or whatever is only contains like 4.7GB and dual layered 8GB something like that. Which all means Blu-ray can fit way more video footage and contains the better video quality(it stores clearer images) so clearer images means more memory. Hope i helped.

Great first part! I only have 2 comments:

1. You don't need to worry about the HDMI cable and heat... everything underneath the metal is simply conductors so heat to them that the PS3 could supply will not damage them at all.

2. When you were listing high end HDDs I would also add Samsung to that list. :) hehe Just my $0.02.

there is intake on slim i saw it in another video if u put it upside down on sides you will small gaps in chasis. Your HDMI has metal outside i wonder this is the first i saw, i have samsung HDMI its covered with rubber from both ends like power cable. thnx for the review.

Do you have a gold-plated hdmi cable? a gold plated hdmi cable may be your solution to the heat problem because gold-plated generates the heat better.
