@ebachveley If you click on my user name on the left just above the video (markindundas) you will be able to see all of the videos. Augustus is now 18 months old, if it's fine tomorrow we'll take him to the beach and video him again.
@XxJellyyBellyyxX The only reason I refer to him as a Landseer Newfoundland, is that over here in Australia, they're not a very common breed, and if I just refered to him as a Landseer, most people wouldn't have a clue as to what I'm talking about. In some countries they are seperate breeds, however in Australia, the Landseer is included in the breed Newfoundland.
I saw one of these at the pet shop this afternoon. Sweet and beautiful, but the reality check is, I've got a near-bedridden family member, less room than I think she would need, no place for her to swim, and an almost 14-year-old Norsk Elghund.
@5610winston I can understand. These dogs need a lot of space. The only reason I haven't bought one yet. Well, that and the fact that I can't afford to keep one yet. But I do want one in the future.
@TuzTuz14 It does get hot here in the summer, however we have a swimming pool and they are free to use it whenever they want to, we also have lots of shade in the back yard, and the house is airconditioned, so if they are suffering in the heat,we bring them inside.
@wedler79 Thankyou for your concern, however Newfoundlands have a very thick fluffy coat, I can assure you that I'm well aware of the dangers of a giant breed being over weight, this was filmed on the day we picked him up from his breeder.
We watch this every week and it always brings up a huge grin on our faces... :-)
