There is no resemblence at all between the Me262 and the Mig 15. Absurd! For a long time it was claimed the Mig 15 was influenced by the Focke Wulf Ta183 but Mikoyan have long denied it and they are structualy both different. Mikoyan claimed they were more inspired by the Me263 maybe from the swept wing/aerodynamic configuration. Derived from a 262? How? Apart from being another jet there is nothing similar whatsoever!

It's not plain wrong. They copied the sloped armor - they used many elements... they 'inspired' themselves from that tank. Look how square shaped their tanks are (Panzer III), look how 'round' the T34 is.

There is a famous radio message from the Soviet armies at Kursk in July 43 which says: "Enemy introduces new tank - looks similar to our T-34 - we have losses at 2000 meters...etc"

No matter what parts - its the basic design that is so obvious in the latter inventions. Stg 43 is based on Italian designs....

One downside of Mig-17 is that chance of survival when hit by Sidewinder is almost 0. Due to its design, where the fuel tank sits at the inner part of the wing, when aircraft gets hit, whole plane blows up. A lot of NVAF pilots ejected as soon as they saw F-4 at their tail before they even engaged.

Most of the time we use a power cart(im part of the ground crew for this particular aircraft). RARELY does he start the airplane on its own battery.

That's really interesting - so the aircraft is able to self start with an internal battery.

That put the Russians way ahead, the Brits were using cordite starters on what was essentially the same engine.

@WinchesterRanger Not necessarily... a lot of these vintage jets have been CONVERTED to battery self start configurations. Dont know about this particular 17, but I've seen original video of 15's and 17's starting with cartridges. In all actuality, the cartridge starter is much more reliable in a combat situation, because there's no battery to deal with (too low a voltage to start, etc.), and there's less weight.

Mig 17s do have a radial flow type jet engine.

As opposed to axial flow in us jets.

But I think the guy was talking about a piston engine flying over.

I don't know so much, the US went with centrifugals first (on the F80), and then dropped them, the Russians did exactly the same (Mig 15/17), as did the British (Vampire/Venom/Meteor). Only the Germans started with axial flow.
