@zaggermickjagger Depending on what state or county you are in...you do not need to to. However, you will need to take the class on tasers and pass the test to be able to carry a taser. In my Academy class, we chose to get tased. If someone were to sue you for tasing them, you can explain to the court why you chose to tase that suspect, the mechanics of the weapon in itself and how it feels when you are tased.
