Cedric benson's game translates as average in the NFL when he was healthy in 2005. The knee and leg injuries have added up and now he's below average. 3.5-3.8 avg p/c is subpar in the nfl. Good backs get you 4.1 or more great backs get you 4.5 apc or more yards. Just another example of a decent college player running behind a good offensive line and quarterback.

I would rather have Ryan Grant on the Bears over Cedstink Bumson. He's garbage. He's nothing put a crybaby piece of trash. There's not one starting RB in the NFL that I wouldn't take over Bumson. Heck, I'd even take most 2nd stringers over Bumson. He will never amount to anything in the NFL. I was pissed the day they drafted that bum and knew he would be worthless.

Based on one year? Try 3 worthless years from a former #4 pick. I guess Bumson figured out it's a lot different than playing against Rice, Baylor, Kansas, Texas Tech, and the other cream puffs that he played against and inflated his stats against in college. He didn't do squat against Oklahoma and other big games. I don't know how the Bears allowed this bum to trick them into drafting him.

It's not like the O Line was worthless. Bumson shows no vision to find a whole, no agility or ability to bounce it to the outside EVER, and he has no speed to run away from anybody. A former #4 overall pick should be able to make something happen on his own at least every once in a while. He makes ZERO plays on his own, goes down on first contact, and runs out of bounds to avoid contact. He is worthless and I hope his Bears career is over.

There's no chance that I'll be eating my words. Bumson sucks! Period. He didn't do anything against Oklahoma in college and never showed up in the big games. He can't handle the NFL. He would rather run out of bounds than try to get extra yards. He's slow and has no moves. Anybody can run straight ahead like he does and they can do for a lot less money.

He would rather try to run through an O lineman than run around them and break it to the outside. I guess it would be easy to see that there's no hole there if he didn't run with his head down and tail between his legs.

anybody could? so you or me could do what hes doin in the video above? hardly. and yes it is hard to find a hole but for diff reasons the line didnt make one not his head is down. he runs outa bounds just as much as any back in the nfl and sometimes you gotta, if you dont every now and then you end up like bo jackson. and he has a lil over avg spd. as far as not fighting for extra yards it always takes more than 1 person to bring him down he is one of the toughest backs around

You are obviously in love with Bumsom. It's also obvious that you never watch Bears games. Bumson ALWAYS goes down on first contact and often goes down on shoe string tackles. He has no agility or balance. This stupid highlight in a preseason game means nothing. That's the only time he has ever run anybody over in the NFL. Toughest backs in the NFL? That's why he supposedly got hurt in the Super Bowl, got hurt this year, and got hurt his rookie year? Tough my ass!

He sucks. He's been injured every year in the league. He's the last one that gets off the ground on every play. He would rather run out of bounds than run somebody over and try to make them miss. I guess running out of bounds might not be the worst option. If he tried to make somebody miss, he would either go down on another shoe string tackle or he would fumble. He supposedly got hurt in the SB. He took a good hit, got scared, and took himself out.
