The original central doctrine of Momonism states the central need for plural marriage, they only stopped it so Utah could become a state. Mormonism is not biblical Christianity...it is a cult of deception. Many Mormons are nice and sincere however, they are sincerely wrong
I, as a female member of the Mormon church, who has grown up traumatized because of the threat of a possible polygamous heavenly "reward", I pose a question to the church I was raised in, and most of all the question to my GOD: Why won't you come straight out and, 1). explain why polygamy was "practiced" in the first place (as if "practicing" something INhumane can somehow make it HUmane), and 2). is it THE way of life in heaven???? If so, then, my Father in Heaven is NOT a loving God...
Joseph Smith had 33 wives! The founder of the Mormons would have been excommunicated?...lol. This guy is a lie teller. Mormons original "apostles" had multiple wives as well. They stopped it to for UTAH to become a state...do not believe Mormon lies!
Joseph Smith stated that without the ordinances and authority of the priesthood no man can see the face of God and live (D & C 84:21, 22). He also said that he saw God in 1820 (Joseph Smith 2:17). Joseph Smith, however, never received any priesthood until 1829 (D&C 13). How did he see God and survive? In which was he in error: his revelation in D & C 84:21, 22 or his experience in the grove?
"I then received a powerful blessing from President Bryce, which strengthened and edified me. I felt the Spirit during and after the blessing. I was filled with love, joy and peace and I knew my Heavenly Father loved me and would take care of me no matter what the outcome of this trial is
Each of them received what President Bryce called a wonderful father's blessing. My wife, who is expecting our first baby girl in June, also received a blessing.
Mark S. Bryce, president of Eastern Arizona College, coordinator of the local temple committee and then president of the Pima Arizona Stake, arranged for Brother and Sister Kelly and their children to go on a special tour of the temple during its open house.
In this “unpaid ministry,” the president fulfills the duties of a minister with the help of the membership. Riley and his two counselors, Steven Reeves and Aaron Sundstrom, oversee and serve the organizations within the Church.
“This is a true and eternal principle and applies to all people in and out of the church,” Riley said. “When we give freely of ourselves for any good cause or to serve others, we will learn to love those we serve and will feel God’s approval. To me that feeling is priceless.”
“We all just do our best to serve one another,” Kevin Riley, new branch president of the LDS church in Miramar Beach, told The Log. “Whether we are called as a primary teacher, teaching the children, adult Sunday school teacher or as the branch president, we all are entitled to the Lord’s help and inspiration as we serve.”
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has no paid ministers, but there is a man who is charge of leading the congregation and overseeing the programs in the church.
. When he found the truth, he acted promptly. His example has been a guiding star in my life. The Church became a natural part of our day-to-day living, and I experienced firsthand deep love for the gospel and Church service right there in our home."
Elder Malm said, "My father explained to the missionaries that he had studied the New Testament and had written down a list of some 20 or so doctrines and offices that he felt Christ had established in the original Church and which would be found in the true church if it existed upon the earth
Joseph Smith (founding prophet) had 33 wives, Brigham Young 55 wives, John Taylor 15 , Wilffold Woodruff 10 ( was also sealed in the temple to 336 dead single women) , Joseph F Smith 20 wives ( JFS wives had 13 children after the 1890 prohibition manifesto agreement not to practise plural marriage )
Yet to this day a male member can be sealed/married to more than one wife in LDS temples. ( conditions apply )

I can no longer control my body or limbs, it is getting harder to breathe and my voice is now soft and hoarse."
hey "sanjayarulz" have u ever seen the inside of the temple? no cause u cant go in there unless u are worthy to be in the presence of the Lord. none of u anti-mormons are.
lol, nice attempt at spinning Mormonism's dirty laundry of Polygamy.Don't be fooled folks, Mormons still practice spiritual polygamy in their temples.
were not fooling anyone anyway ! anyway ever think about the common polygamy praticed legally ? when your spouse dies YOU remarry ....When you leave your spouse and remarry (BY LAW you still have to take care of your 1st wife and kids)
Polygamy is stil being practice in the tempel, we do seal man who are dead to more than 1 wife. So my grangfather will see his 3 loving wifes again and live eternal live. I will not be alone whit only my husband, I will have many sisterwifes with me. Soon the church will get its old state back. Then how many members will listen to the word of God.
They will sort it out on the other side whom he will share eternity with .
I believe you maybe right there revalations state in the endtime before the second coming that many woman will want to be married to the same husband. probley because of the great lack of men after the last world war . sence our leaders will kill most of us by force, releasing of deadly viruses and war .
According to the Mormon historian D. Michael Quinn, Mormon Church leaders considered the possibility of signing a document like the Manifesto on December 20, 1888, and rejected the idea: "After this overwhelming repudiation, Woodruff told the apostles, 'Had we yielded to that document every man of us would have been under condemnation before God. The Lord never will give a revelation to abandon plural marriage."
"Now I want to prophecy a little.... I want to prophecy that all men who oppose the revelation which God has given in relation to polygamy will find themselves in darkness; the Spirit of God will withdraw from them the very moment of their opposition to that principle, until they will finally go down to hell and be damned, if they do not repent.... if you do not become as dark as midnight there is no truth in Mormonism." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 17, p. 224-225)
One is just as consistent as the other. If the doctrine of polygamy, as revealed to the Latter-day Saints, is not true, I would not give a fig for all your other revelations that came through Joseph Smith the Prophet; I would renounce the whole of them, because it is utterly impossible. to believe a part of them to be divine—from God—and a part of them to be from the devil; The Lord has said that those who reject this principle reject their salvation, they shall be damned, saith the Lord;
Apostle Orson Pratt strongly affirmed that it was absolutely essential that polygamy not be given up by the church: "God has told us Latter-day Saints that we shall be condemned if we do not enter into that principle; and yet I have heard now and then... a brother or sister say, 'I am a Latter-day Saint, but I do not believe in polygamy! Oh, what an absurd expression! What an absurd idea! A person might as well say, 'I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, but I do not believe in him.'
Kimball also warned: "Some quietly listen to those who speak... against the plurality of wives, and against almost every principle that God has revealed. Such persons have half-a-dozen devils with them all the time. You might as well deny 'Mormonism,' and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives. Let the Presidency of this Church, and the Twelve Apostles, and all the authorities unite and say with one voice that they will oppose the doctrine, and the whole of them will be damned."
The Mormons continued to openly preach polygamy until the year 1890. During this period the leaders taught that it was going to be a permanent part of the church and that it would never be stopped. Heber C. Kimball, First Counselor to Brigham Young, emphasized that the "principle of plurality of wives never will be done away,..."
John Taylor, the third president of the church, claimed that he believed in keeping all the laws of the United States "except one" — i.e., "The law in relation to polygamy." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 20, page 317) Thomas G. Alexander, of Brigham Young University, admitted that "long after the 1879 Reynolds decision, Church members brought to bar for sentencing told federal judges that the law of God was higher than the law of the land and deserved prior obedience.
In 1891 the First Presidency and Apostles of the Mormon Church made the following statement in a petition to the President of the United States: "We formerly taught to our people that polygamy or celestial marriage as commanded by God through Joseph Smith was right; that it was a necessity to man's highest exaltation in the life to come."
The phrase "mainstream LDS" is a contradiction. Either the doctrine of the LDS Church is the true gospel of Jesus Christ, or the LDS Church is a fraud. There can not possibly be a mainstream and some smaller stream church sects.
The purpose of having a prophet as leader of the Church, is for God to reveal to the Church and to the world, the word of God. When God chooses to end polygamy, or anything else, the prophet receives a revelation from God.
Are those of you that oppose anything from the LDS Church, actually watching and listening to the video, or are you pausing it and not hearing it? What President Hinckley said is clear: Polygamy has no place in LDS life.
There is only one LDS Church, and the followers of the Fundamentalists, worship Warren Jeffs, instead of God. They place his commandments above those in the Bible.
You're totally wrong! If a man (say Dallin H. Oaks for example) has a first wife who dies and he remarries in the temple he can subsequently take another wife for "time and all eternity" like Oaks did. You clearly fail at Mormon doctrine.
After 2 yrs of reading the first 100 yrs of Mormonism, I can tell you this is exactly what they would say on 1838, 1857, 1890, 1910, etc when ALL this was true. The Polygamy Revelation has withstood the fate of the BofM with its 4000+ alterations, The P.Revelation is unaltered, viral, waiting. read it.
Jacob 2:23-27 says that David and Solomon's polygamy was abominable before God. Yet, D. & C. 132:37-39 says God gave many wives and concubines to David and Solomon which were counted for righteousness and they did not sin. How could that be true if polygamy was abominable before God? B. Young also proclaimed "The only men who become Gods, even the Sons of God, are those who enter into polygamy." - Brigham Young (Journal of Discourses, vol. 11, p. 269).
sad how you so adamantly defend your false religion...it's like your little precious idol that you shine and protect and whisper sweet things too. disgusting. makes me wanna puke. mormons are literally one of "the" most lost groups of deceived people on the planet. i really wonder just how many are willingly deceived and willfully deceive others???
It is what it is so shut up and DEAL WITH IT.. joseph smith was a piece of shit mormon prophet of satan and hes forever rotting in hell.. hey since you people want to make smith a jesus haha notice that no movies like the passion of joseph smith ever came out, like the Passion of Christ, Jesus of Nazereth, all those movies showing what a great man Jesus is, nothing can compare to that and thats why theres no Christmas for joseph smith and no easter for smith.. get a clue
omiolo you mormons should be beaten to death for mocking the Catholic religion like this and by trying to get glory over the Catholics just like satan just to get glory over God, mormons have a sick family value they are into incest, the mormons will NEVER top what the Catholics have and thats a close knit family
no but it IS blasphemous to hold to the teachings of exposed Liars, racists, polygamists, and to raise the Book of Mormon to status of Scripture. mormonism is rejected as a valid expression of Christian faith by the 'mainline' body of Christianity. wake up and smell the BIBLE
Yeah really idiot.. you people are about trickery and deceit and it got started with satan and his butt buddy that he chose to try and trick Gods children and thats the first mormon prophet of satan joseph smith.. they USED Jesus Christ name on your so called church just to try and fool the Gods children.. we're NOT fooled
You sick blasphemous mormon piece of shit, how dare you compare the son of God Jesus Christ to that scumbag mormon prophet of satan joseph smith, the world knew that Jesus was of God years later, people to this day KNOW that joseph smith is what he is a filthy piece of shit mormon prophet of satan rotting in hell
Jacob 2:23-27 says that David and Solomon's polygamy was abominable before God. Are you denying that men can be sealed to another woman if their first wife dies, without breaking the previous seal? Also, that a woman cannot be sealed to another man if her first husband dies, without breaking the previous seal? This is fairly well known.
Mainline is meant to distinguish the LDS from the FLDS. Whether you like it or not, the roots for both religions are the same. Both consider themselves the "true" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
True. Yet when Judaism and Islam split, they both got their own separate names. And when Christianity developed, it got its own separate name. And of course they all consider themselves true. I DID not claim the FLDS and LDS are the "the same." Read my post, please.
I do recognize the distinction between the LDS and FLDS. I say "mainstream" to further clarify that, and help other people know that the FLDS is NOT mainstream.
Also, you didn't answer my question about the sealings.
I just meant that they are distinct. It is perhaps unfortunate that the FLDS and LDS have such similar names, since it causes confusion. For the eighteen-millionth time, I use "mainstream" to MINIMIZE the confusion.
mainstream is more of an EVANGELICAL or BAPTIST catch phrase to make them seem popular. it really isn't in our lexicon! It defeats the purpose of what we preach!
"Both consider themselves the "true" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "
and Baptists and Jehovah Witnesses consider themselves the true Christians!
It actually isn't entirely correct many if not ALL FLDS believe per the whooley doctrine that they are place holding polygamy until it is legal again and then the LDS church will reinstate the practice! How do I know this. Because I know them!
I'm asking because you denied that the LDS believes polygamy will be practiced in heaven.
Hmm, yes, of course Baptists and Jehovah's Witness consider themselves Christians. But when I say "mainstream Christians" or "mainstream Protestants" most people would agree that the Baptists (and Methodists, and Episcopalians, etc) would be included. And most "mainstream Christians" would not be offended by being called "mainstream. I don't understand why "mainstream LDS" offends you.
Jacob 2:23-27 says that David and Solomon's polygamy was abominable before God. Yet, D. & C. 132:37-39 says God gave many wives and concubines to David and Solomon which were counted for righteousness and they did not sin. How could that be true if polygamy was abominable before God?
what about the Negro's?? oh yeah..i forgot...things "changed" in 1978. that's the proplem with 'open cannon'...things can change...like polygamy and racism... how convienient?
"We must not be partisans of any doctrine of ethnic superiority. We live in a world of diversity. We can and must be respectful toward those with whose teachings we may not agree. We must be willing to defend the rights of others who may become the victims of bigotry"

The term Mormon is synonymous with polygamy.
Joseph Smith (founding prophet) had 33 wives, Brigham Young 55 wives, John Taylor 15 , Wilffold Woodruff 10 ( was also sealed in the temple to 336 dead single women) , Joseph F Smith 20 wives ( JFS wives had 13 children after the 1890 prohibition manifesto agreement not to practise plural marriage )

GOOD POINT !!!

"Jacob 2:23-27 says that David and Solomon's polygamy was abominable before God."
you might want to quote it exactly instead of paraphrasing it. Then you might want to reread the history of David and Solomon.
then you might want to ask yourself. Why is eVERYONE else so much smarter Biblically than I am!!

"D. & C. 132:37-39 says God gave "
it is amazing how come when God does it and commands it, it is NOT a bad thing....hummmm

sad how you so adamantly defend your false religion...it's like your little precious idol that you shine and protect and whisper sweet things too. disgusting. makes me wanna puke. mormons are literally one of "the" most lost groups of deceived people on the planet. i really wonder just how many are willingly deceived and willfully deceive others???

"sad how you so adamantly defend your false religion..."
the sad part is how you LIE and DISTORT the LDS religion and call that good!!
deceived is people who think that their limited knowledge trumps that of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Isaiah 55:8

I realize in your religion profanity and vulgarity is acceptable.
Nevertheless, Mormons are very family orientated people and we try and keep EVEYRTHING we do family orientated.
In fact we worship the God that said
"suffer the children to come unto me for of such is the kingdom of heaven"
we ask that you respect that and help keep Mormon videos family orientated and thus free from your profanity and vulgarity.
thank you!

omiolo you mormons should be beaten to death for mocking the Catholic religion like this and by trying to get glory over the Catholics just like satan just to get glory over God, mormons have a sick family value they are into incest, the mormons will NEVER top what the Catholics have and thats a close knit family

"the church has nothing whatever to do with those practicing polygamy"
hmph, only because the church had to abandon polygamy in order for a Utah to become a state.
Mainline LDS believe polygamy will be practiced in heaven. A man can be sealed to multiple wives, but a woman cannot be sealed to multiple men.
Hwinnian 3 years ago
Sorry, that's just not true. You may have that impression, from the outside.
Being a member, I know that what President Hinckley said is true. Polygamy does not exist in the LDS Church, not in any form, not in the least.
"Mainline?" ? What is that supposed to mean? There is only one LDS Church; not a mainline and others.

And its blasphemous for a mormon to claim being a Christian
LyrasAbigbuffalo 3 years ago
oh really? so is it blasphemous for us to say the full name of our church? The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints? really.
saladsfallautumn 3 years ago
no but it IS blasphemous to hold to the teachings of exposed Liars, racists, polygamists, and to raise the Book of Mormon to status of Scripture. mormonism is rejected as a valid expression of Christian faith by the 'mainline' body of Christianity. wake up and smell the BIBLE
delpuckett 3 years ago
Yeah really idiot.. you people are about trickery and deceit and it got started with satan and his butt buddy that he chose to try and trick Gods children and thats the first mormon prophet of satan joseph smith.. they USED Jesus Christ name on your so called church just to try and fool the Gods children.. we're NOT fooled

" the first mormon prophet of satan joseph smith.."
I guess the Pharisees said the SAME thing about Jesus Christ.
So Joseph Smith is in GOOD company and you are NOT!

LyrasAbigbuffalo 3 years ago
It is possible that the original creators of the bible believed the junk they wrote. But joseph smith absolutley DID NOT
He knew he was altering other peoples books to make money, he knew from the get-go the religion was a complete and utter scam
He the became more and more corrupt and became a wanted criminal

OK, well do you believe Brigham Young was speaking truth, when he said the LDS church would never give up polygamy. JOD 11;269
or how about his first counselor, Heber Kimball,
"You might as well deny 'Mormonism,' and turn away from it, as to oppose the plurality of wives." (JOD 5:203)
Hwinnian 3 years ago
"polygamy. JOD 11;269"
why don't you give the EXACT quote and we can answer your question readily?
"(JOD 5:203) "
at that time, that was probably true!
omiolo 3 years ago
con't
Are you denying that men can be sealed to another woman if their first wife dies, without breaking the previous seal? Also, that a woman cannot be sealed to another man if her first husband dies, without breaking the previous seal? This is fairly well known.
Mainline is meant to distinguish the LDS from the FLDS. Whether you like it or not, the roots for both religions are the same. Both consider themselves the "true" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Hwinnian 3 years ago
"the roots for both religions are the same. Both consider themselves the "true" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "
that is like saying Islam and Christianity and Judaism is the same. They ALL have roots from Abraham and ALL consider themselves TRUE!
think AGAIN!
omiolo 3 years ago
Hwinnian 3 years ago
"Yet when Judaism and Islam split, they both got their own separate names"
so names is all that matter to you?
omiolo 3 years ago
I just meant that they are distinct. It is perhaps unfortunate that the FLDS and LDS have such similar names, since it causes confusion. For the eighteen-millionth time, I use "mainstream" to MINIMIZE the confusion.
Hwinnian 3 years ago
"I say "mainstream" "
mainstream is more of an EVANGELICAL or BAPTIST catch phrase to make them seem popular. it really isn't in our lexicon! It defeats the purpose of what we preach!
ONE Lord
ONE Faith
ONE Baptism!
omiolo 3 years ago
"This is fairly well known.
"
then why are you asking?
"Both consider themselves the "true" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. "
and Baptists and Jehovah Witnesses consider themselves the true Christians!
It actually isn't entirely correct many if not ALL FLDS believe per the whooley doctrine that they are place holding polygamy until it is legal again and then the LDS church will reinstate the practice! How do I know this. Because I know them!
omiolo 3 years ago
I'm asking because you denied that the LDS believes polygamy will be practiced in heaven.
Hmm, yes, of course Baptists and Jehovah's Witness consider themselves Christians. But when I say "mainstream Christians" or "mainstream Protestants" most people would agree that the Baptists (and Methodists, and Episcopalians, etc) would be included. And most "mainstream Christians" would not be offended by being called "mainstream. I don't understand why "mainstream LDS" offends you.
Hwinnian 3 years ago
"I'm asking because you denied that the LDS believes polygamy will be practiced in heaven."
please show me where I said that or else please apologize to me for putting words in my mouth.
I don't see why Jacob/Israel wouldn't stay married to his wives. Wouldn't that make the 12 tribes illegitimate?
