There's one thing that's sad: Imagi is dead, and so is the Gatchaman movie for America. Fortunately, Takashi Miike's gonna be heading a Live Action Movie based on Gatchaman. At least not ALL is lost. Plus, he did Yatterman!

If it's a Gatchaman movie, it should follow the original Japanese anime and not something completely different.

I've never seen Battle of the Planets, but apparently, it's a bit different from the original Japanese version, which was the thing at the time.

Is it any good? The dub that is, I'm sure the anime is pretty damn good.

The show has actually already seen a DVD release in the US under its original name, Gatchaman. You'll have to kinda look around though.

Some interesting information. The person who voices Boyacky is the narrator in DBZ, the guy who voices Ken Washio voiced Nail in DBZ, and the girl who voices Jun the Swan voiced Colonel Violet in DBZ (all japanese of course)
