  • don't know, every time I listen to this song, I cry like a baby, non stop. The music, lyrics and singing all par excellence and the superb performance by the artist. Can somebody please reveal the name of the actor who played the Guruji?

  • Adbhut aavaz Rafisaheb! Bahut sundar bhajan.Prabhu aap ke aatma ko shanti de! Dhanyavaad is bhajan ki prastuti ke liye.

  • Excellent par excellence. Extremely soul moving song. This is the ultimate. There is nothing beyond this. What a magnificent gesture of nature. The song writer is Shakeel Badyuni. The composer of this song is Naushad Ali and the singer of this song is Mohammed Rafi. All three were muslims and the ultimate is Lord Krishna. How wonderful. A magnificent tribute to Him by them. Naushad Sahib won the best music director award for this movie when the Filfmare awards were announced for the first time.

  • is khubsurat bhajan ki khas baat ye hai ki, isko likhne wala muslim, music director muslim, or gane wale to hain he rafi saheb. it's happen only in INDIA. :)

  • Awesome, Wonderful, Fabulous, Marvellous, Superb, Fantastic, Sweetest, Uncomparable, Excellent, The Best, Golden, Magical, & Immortal Great MOHAMMED RAFI SAHAB. He was an angel of GOD & Sweetest voice in this universe. He was such a real Human Being on this earth, who respected every religion. He sung for Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Sikhs, & rest of all. There is only one MOON, one SUN, & one MOHAMMED RAFI SAHAB in this universe.

  • Makes me cry my Heart out :'(

  • One of the best bhajans ever ever created and Rafi Sahab is so mesmerizing and full of bhakti bhav. Bharat Bhushan was not muslim. His father was RaiBahadur Motilal and brother was R. Chandra, a famous film producer of the time.

  • the best bhajan created by three muslims.

  • man taropot

  • @REDARMY1882 Bharat Bhushan, the actor is also muslim. Let us celebrate Indianness.

  • Devotion of Sri hari, Rag malkaunsh, music by naushad and eternal voice of Md Rafi, what else do you want? Absolute mesmerising, excellent!!!!

  • This song is biased on Raga Malukauns......

  • original baiju bawra would have envied rafi sahab, what a voice and the rendition is classic keep listening these are time less gems

  • Music could cure paralysis.Great

  • hari om hari om hari om hari om man tarpat hari darshan ko aaj

  • I am enjoying this bliss of a song right from 1957; continuously; even today it does not fail to bring up a lump in the throat. No joking or oversentimentality; I want to hear this song (original) when I breath my last. That is true.

  • ann evergreen masterpiece in hindi cinema .

  • This song once again proved the the music is altimate maifestation of suprime Allmighty and there is no religian, cast, ragion or creed. I may say so because none of the artists(leric, singer, music composer etc) involved with the creation of the song belong to the religian conncted with the leric of the song

  • @psnsasatry I completely agree with you and am proud to express my similar notions and being proud of these great men...........their memories will live forever......................

  • @9145ronald thanque verymuch

  • Centuries will pass before another voice of his calibre, elocution and style will be gifted to this planet again. No body could ever reach to his heights. He had complete control in all sorts of variations in singing. A naive personality, May God bless his soul? (23-01-2011)

  • best sout of best bhajans

  • simply enchanting

  • simply enchanating

  • simply enchanting

  • My eternally treasured song!

Sung with SO much fervor by Rafi, it reaches & transcends the heights of elation a Soul could experience on GETTING what it's been long Yearning for!... like the protagonist here, yearning for a "glimpse" of his Guru he reveres as close to Almighty in his perception as say, Meera to her attachment to Krishna,...& he GETS that glimpse! :)

Hmm, almost insinuating the POWER of earnest yearnings to lead to fruition of any Soulful Human Wish! How Utopian! :)

  • @ritupm

"Mann TaRpat Hari Darshan Ko Aaj."

Life might meet with it's end listening to this beautiful Bhajan. Good music composed by late Naushad is the outstanding feature of this Bhajan. It had to be, since it’s about the legendary 16th century singer and musician Baijnath "Baiju Bawra."

"Tumre dwaar ka main hooN jogi' "Hamri aor nazar kab hogi?"

Alfaz khatam ho jaate hain azizan-E-Mann, zindagi ke din bhi, lekin Parwar degaar ki taarif khatam nahin hoti. Thanks Ritu Jee for sharing.

  • man tarpat Hari darshan ko aaj.......Rafi saheb took us there .....thanks

  • "To be precise this is Raga Malkauns i.e. there is nothing to 'COMPOSE' here..."

This is a silly comment. It is pure Malkauns, but the raag just provides a structure. The actual tune is to be composed being within the structure. There are innumerable tunes within Malkauns.

Now, sometimes some people just put words to a pre-existing Bandish (tune). I do not think that is the case here; as far as I can tell, this tune is unique.

By the way, the last part is not Malkauns.

  • The interesting thing is that the singer, composer and musician are all muslim. An example of India's unity.

    Singer:Mohd Rafi

    Lyrics:Shakeel Badayuni

    Music:Naushad

  • Mohd Rafi has sung this devotional song with deepest purity from heart. No one can beat Mohd Rfiji

  • wwht a song

  • Exquisite!

  • To be precise this is Raga Malkauns i.e. there is nothing to 'COMPOSE' here. To give credit to Naushadji he chose the correct Raga for this song.

  • the --the best filmy bhajan exactly phenominal

  • wahhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,,,,

  • Rafi will never be replased...he was top and will be all time on top

  • singing such songs was another sing that rafi was the great maestro of playback singing he could sing everything whit ease and no one can come anywhere close to him and no one can or would compare A.R.rehman whit this great maestros of music like naushad or O.P , S.D , R.D, shankar jaykishan, etc etc . he is no where near this great musicians he is just abvout good for now a days but the song and music of today not all but mostly is nothing worth i dont wana attack anyone but thats a fact

  • Why do people say Hurry Home when they're about to die?

  • @sahilmalik123 kaan khol ke sun ki usme wo kya bolta hai hari om not hurry home,ab dobara is tarah ke message mat karna .jai shree ram, respect karna seekho saare dharmo ka

  • @sahilmalik123 He's singing Hari Om.

  • @sahilmalik123 some people can be so narrow minded. it was a trio of your sacred religion who conceived this beautiful masterpiece. hats off to all those people who have such a pure heart. every religion is equally respectable

  • wah rafi sahab

  • Raag Malkauns

  • bullshit

  • @kingsmehul: What is BS?

  • Some body said it is good for meditation. I agree and feel the same. This song put me to a place beyond my explanation. May be its meditation.

  • india aisi awaz ko barsoon taray gaa.no more comments.

  • A soulful bhajan written by Shakeel Badayuni, set to song by Naushad Ali and sung by Mohd. Rafi...this is the beauty of India!

  • @mandodari75: Rightly pointed out. Lyrics, music and voice of Muslims for a Hindu devotional song.

  • Its such a great example of secularism in India. A song Hari was sung by none other tham Late Mohd Rafi. He had the best of the voices of his time.Brilliant song, voicean music.....

  • @drpriya123 pluralism is a much better term for this, secularism doesnt even come close to describe india

  • the wordings and the voice goes deep into ones heart

  • GOD in Heaven: What a voice!

  • No doubt AR Rehman is a great musian today but his music is appreciated in today/s time but one cannot say that his music will be remembered after 20 years as of the musicians of the 60s to 70s era including Illairaja of South.

  • This movie is the best I ever saw!

  • Where is the so-called trend music of A.R.Rahman compared with these type melodies?

  • @synth420 :

no point in comparing like that.....

Even Naushad and Rafi would have been proud of AR's master pieces....

Rehman is gr8 in his style just as Naushad, shankar-Jaykishan, SD, OP....

Rehman is one of the greats of indian music

  • this is called music!!

in easy words.... I love it

  • Lyrics by shakeel badayuni, music by naushad ali, sung by mohammed rafi. Singing "man tadpat hari darshan ko". Now, this is multi-culturalism.

  • @sriramalka : This is our wonderfull, ancient cultural heritage that has proven potential to bring about the best in us for all of us to enjoy......Jaihind......Waseem

  • It is really worth for meditation. Even you r not from Bhakti marg. Close your eyes and just listen it.

  • What has happened to our Indian cinema today.

  • This is one of the most historic song in Indian cinema. Rafi in the semi classic mode

..... seems like he is pouring honey from his throat.

Bin guru gyaan kahan se paaun .... obtained from kabirs doha by shakeel saahab and naushad have all combined to give a rare masterpeice.

Baiju Bawra is a water shed in Indian Cinema

  • This is raag Darbari I suppose

  • simply mind blowing

  • As far as pure devotion goes, this is the ultimate! There have been many great devotional songs in Hindi films, but this makes the soul soar. The emoting, the singing, the lyrics and the composition are sublime. Shakeel Badayuni, Naushad and Mohammed Rafi.

  • singing on praise of lord Krishna and writer , singer and composer all Muslim no better place than india for such wonderful combination

  • Tabiyat Khush Hogayee

  • excellent

  • This probably is the best song bollywood could churn ever...

  • Thats the greatest singer i have known... I bow to thee !!!!!!

  • I wanted to share something that someone else said, but I agree with this sentiment whole heartedly. "One of the greatest Bhajans 'Man Tarapat Hari Darashan Ko Aaj' shows that the only religion of the artists (song writer Shakeel Badayuni, composer Naushad, singer Mohamad Rafi) is their art. "

  • What a lovely voice he had. I can't imagine anyone else singing as beautifully.
